I think time would be better spent roleplaying in thread than arguing schematics on an article that hasn't changed nor is likely to change anytime soon. There can be no right or wrong answer because of how the article is written, so the whole thing is a moot point really.

This whole dialog would be far more productive carried out as a conversation in character. And if the magic doesn't have enough detail for you to be satisfied in utilizing it - even in the impossible ways as you've suggested (handing out free articles of MC as a starting pc with no funds to MC anything) - then I suggest you pick a new magic to pursue or a skill you can realistically follow to your high standards.
And whether you realize it or not, this whole nitpicking of the MC Article is very insulting to the article's author. Your time and energy needs to be focused elsewhere.
