Hello everyone. You can call me Gunther; I've been using that name online for over seven years now. I've been RPing online in forums like this for about three years now, but my origins are in D&D PnP over 30 years ago.

I possess an affinity toward Creative Writing. My HS Writing teacher encouraged me (the class) to write about our experiences. Those words motivated me to go out into the world and acquire experiences; vast and diverse they may be.

Marcus Braeden who joined recently told me about the forum. He and I have been RPing for about three years now. I prefer Fantasy RP like Mizahar, but I can write about any genre. I'm currently working on a Sci-Fi Novel. I cannot say there is a subject I would not write about. I noted Marcus commented on Romance. But I am married with four children and have experience there. I'm sure I could write about that subject too.

There are tomes of material related to Mizahar on the site. I have been reading for the past three days when I have time. I understand that in order to better contribute to this subject, there must be significant detail recorded in order to make it worthwhile. The detail of Mizahar is both exciting and exhausting. Hopefully, I can use the Mizahar experience to both practice and enhance my writing skills as well as explore untapped realms of my imagination.

Before I get started, I want to insure I have covered the necessary detail. I would be amiss if on my first post, whether it be in Syliras or Zeltiva I write about something that could not possibly have happened. To me the frustrating part is nailing down those important details before contributing to the collaborative work of fiction.

So far I have read:
The Starting Guide
Things You Need to Know
Regions
City List
Rules
Mizahar - Lore
Creative Manifesto
The Character Sheet (I expect to have one posted within a day or two. My children come first and there are four of them.)

I have these topics I still want to look over:
Monster - Lore
Storytellers
Watchtower
Theme
Calendar

and finally...
IC and OOC topics related to Zeltiva. I am working on a human carpenter living in Zeltiva.
Any input from Liminal or Gossamer would be appreciated. I see Liminal will be off the net until 8/14.

Personal things about me include 21 years service in the US Army & ARNG, 12 years work in Law Enforcement, 5 years in Railroading & various other employment. Currently I am a stay at home parent of four children aged 5, 4, 2 & 4 mos. Sometimes they are exhausting, but it is well worth it. Since I spend most of my time at home, I do get ample time to write when my wife is not home.

I actually posted this via my phone seconds after you posted your first greeting Gunther, but alas you deleted it so you never did see it. I'll repost though, in this new thread. For the second time - Welcome to Mizahar. I would suggest you read ALL the links on the first main lore page in the 'box' if you have the inclination before starting game play. Otherwise, Chat is a great place to get to know people and ask more specific questions.

You brats are so in trouble! The over

We, sometimes known as the ol' fogies,
obviously claim Gunther for our team.
Married. Articulate. Educated. Well
versed in life... hes definitly perfect
in terms of the type of player we
actively seek here.

That being said maybe I should stop
talking about him as if he wasn't here.

Be very welcome Gunther. You are
the backup we requested to stave off
or counter all the teen angst right?

Hi Gunther

Welcome on board - and, as Gossamer says, yay to another recruit to the "old fogies" - although modesty forbids revealing my own age ;)

Please pardon my earlier deletion. I was having some difficulty and wanted to start it over.

I have been feeling the angst of youth you mention for years and it never changes. When a new one enters the fold, it is the same old wild and illogical chit. Tolerance is acquired through experience; doesn't mean you have to like it.

Thank you for the welcome, Gossamer. Speaking of Ol' fogies. Today is my birthday. ;)

I view age as a level of experience and deserved respect not something to be shameful of. Wisdom and experience defeats youth and strength every time.

  • Kavala is a Konti but was raised in the Drykas culture so her accent is entirely Pavi though she can speak Common, Pavi, and Tukant well. She's only conversational in Kontinese.

Welcome Gunther, looks like you and I started DnD about the same time. I probably bumped into you in the Caves of Chaos!

Again, Welcome!
