As Aoren started talking Ethan couldn’t help but nodded at the man’s thought process. He seemed well inclined to quite thoughtful of things they would need. Ethan smiled at the mention of the Ironworks, he had made rock climbing pinions and hammers. If nothing else he could probably check to see if they might have use of a block and tackle from the docks to help them lift or lower each other down rock overhangs. Ethan seemed surprise at the mention of the local merchants. “Aye, that’s a good thought Aoren, I hadn’t intended to see if they were putting together and expedition into the caves. I will do the same, that way if either one of us hears about it before the other, we can tell each other. You know where I live and I know where you work, so I will leave a message here if you are not around.” Ethan shook Aoren hand to seal the deal. “Well, I look forward to working with you. If you need to get in touch with me, I am either at my apartment, in the pit training, or some night I work at the Ironworks.” With that Ethan spoke a few more pleasantries with the man, and headed out to the pit to continue his training. Ethan ran out to the training pit, his breath slightly fogging on the day’s air. Rain seemed to be coming infrequently into the gravel and sand floor, but Ethan knew that if he only waited to train during the nice days he would never get better. Inside the pit there were only a few fighters training, many had simply stayed inside, yet for the few that were dedicated honing one’s fighting skills never really stopped. Ethan started with in normal jog about the pit, his feet splashing in the puddles making his toes cold but the running make him warm overall. Ser Titus Maximus had first started off his training in hand to hand combat and then a gruelling run with several obstacles. Ethan had kept up with the overall circuit, feeling the burn of his muscles as he did push ups or pulls ups on small ledges of stones. Yet it no longer tired him like it had the first day. Overall, Ethan ran for three miles to warm up his body, performing jumping jacks and sit ups. His clothes were drenched from the rain, and if it hadn’t been for the running he would have been shivering against the cold of the day. Ethan stopped at the hitting post and began his daily routine of punching and kicking. Each kick was meant to cause a slight amount of pain as he tried to toughen up his bones and muscles. While the knee and elbow hits were easy compared to the bare knuckles on wood of the post. Still the pain was decreasing from the first day that he trained. Jab, right hook, left knee, left elbow, right shin, the blows to the post kept going on and on. Slowly Ethan felt his arms become tired from the constant battery of muscle against wood. Feeling the rain come down even harder, Ethan stopped hitting the post as he went under a small overhang. Getting out of the rain, he began to shiver as he saw almost a perfect wall of water coming down. The pit slowly started to flood, from the hard rain, and Ethan realized that he was finally cold and tired. So instead of running another circuit around the pits, Ethan ran home to his apartment to put some wood on the fire and get dry. |
OOCThanks for allowing me to take my time to get to this. With the back injury and kids, I have only had time to do one post or two a day. I will let you finish this out. I will let you finish this and see ya in the cave diving thread.
