A surreal cavern city inhabited by Symenestra where stones glow and streets are reams of silk. Cocoon like structures hang between stalactites and cascade over limestone flows in organic and eerie arabesques. Without a Symenestra willing to escort you, entrance is impossible.

The Opsum Home

The Opsum Home is a building fairly new to Kalinor, built in Spring 513 to accommodate traveling Zith in the region. With their biological structure built to favor underground environments, It came to no surprise to the Symenestra that traveling Zith would take refuge in Kalinor during their travels. Natrually, They would not be welcome at the Meadows public house, and Symenestra did not want to deny them refuge for the conflict it could cause, therefore a new building was hastily constructed to house the city's Zith.

Construction of the home was debated heavily between multiple prestigious webs within Kalinor, including the Anthurium, Hellebore, and Phlox webs. The argument was centered around the fact that the Zith were very dangerous. Some believed the only way to keep the peace with the violent species was to provide them with lodging. Others believed that inviting these creatures to live along side the Symenestra would only provoke further hostility. So far, there have not been any reported incidents from Kalinor's Zith population residing within the Opsum House.

The Opsum Home is a small spire shaped building that rests below most other buildings in Kalinor. Light inside the Home is sparse, but it maintains comfortable temperature, due to its proximity to the cavern's depths. The spire itself is only built to house 20 Zith, consisting of 20 rooms, a Kitchen, a commons, and a small public bath house.

Due to the fact the Opsum home doesn't usually have residents, the building has no residential staff. When the home has many occupants, a housekeep, usually Dra, tends to the visiting Zith, cooking and cleaning.

A residential occupant is expected to provide for their own needs, and are cheeked on at least once a week. Lodging is usually free for these long term residents.
