While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

At first she blinked at him in utter bewilderment. The words "Zaptatl" and "Nadar Canoch" were completely lost upon her, more foreign to her mind than any barbarian place she'd been to date. And what was to..."dabble"? As he further explained his art, she began to connect the strange words with one she knew in her own tongue.

Malediction.

It was an art in which she was familiar but did not yet know herself. The occasional witch in the jungle would take the bones of predators and prey alike (the former much more in demand than the latter) and enchant them. Fantastic stories were told by those who had maintained the gifts or curses in their possession. Sometimes they were tales of ferocious heroism and others of chaotic despair. Yet for so long Kaie longed for one of her own maledicted items once again. Instead of the probably predicted twist of disdain in her expression, Kaie's lips turned up in a grin at the familiar magic.

"Ah, Maledictor? There are some in Falyndar that practice it, too. Craft of value if do it right," She replied with a slow nod of her head as if in agreement with her spoken truths. Then she strode forward with less cautious detachment she had before, and when she was close enough to the man, she extended her open hand a little uncomfortably as if unsure of the action after all the times it had been used in Syliras. Another funny little culture quirk she had picked up. "Venser Rush. I am Kaie." At least this time she had remembered to neglect her long Myrian title. It seemed to be of little use outside her home. Instead of by clan name, she was only distinguished in the East by her race.

The horse rose to its hooves and trotted over to Kaie. Its massive head nuzzled along the edges of her clothing in search of a snack. When it came up empty, it stamped its feed and jerked its head upward in impatience. The Myrian merely turned to it and offered the soothing touch of her hand upon his nose, which the stubborn four-legged companion snobbishly disregarded.
"For Malediction need animal, yes? I assume we need to hunt one then? We should get going then before Syna falls.," The Myrian suggested with a shrug, a hand falling to her gladius handle without aggression. Suddenly her eyes lit up. "I set up a snare not too far from here. Its been a while. If I caught something we might be able to use it to bait an animal worth your gift."
