Jax pulled the hood over his head, while making his way, albeit suspiciously hastily, down to the docks. He had decided it was time to get out of Sunberth while the heat died down since the attack on the Gated Community he and Razkar had committed in the winter on the Dragoons.

He must have checked over his shoulder at least ten times, rather worried that the Dragoons had hired somebody to tail him and alert them of his location. The human and Razkar had left a soldier alive in the massacre in the park to warn off potential retaliations from the Dragoons.

Bad petching idea.

Jax had only taken the essentials from his apartment and stuffed them into his small rucksack before slinging it over his shoulder and leaving his home for Gods know how long. That very rucksack was dangling from his body on a wrap, bouncing to and fro as Jax walked on.

The human turned down a side street, his hands dug into his pockets. He looked up on a wall which advertised the dockyards on a small wooden sign. Jax smiled and continued on his course, knowing that his way out of Sunberth was merely a hundred or so steps away.

The blue-haired man quickened his walk until he could smell the fresh sea air in his nostrils. It was a damn sight better than the stink back in the town he'd once called home. The ships started coming into view along with the dockworkers, loading crates of merchandise onto their vessels ready for transport. Jax spotted a medium sized ship with a proud looking man standing on the bridge. He walked up to the captain, removing his hood and trying to make himself look as least threatening as possible.

"Are you the captain of this ship?" Asked Jax.

"That I am."

"Are you taking on passengers?"

"That we are. We're off to Nyka in the next bell if you're interested."

"I am interested. How much?"

"One gold miza a day. We'll cover food and sleeping arrangements."

"You now have my full interest, sir. How long is the journey?"

"17 days."

Jax smiled once again before producing 17 gold mizas from his pouch and handing them over to the captain, not wanting to pay him each and every day of the journey. He patted the captain's forearm as he stepped onto the deck of the ship and inhaled deeply before leaning on the side and watching the dockworkers, waiting for the ship to depart.

Jax ran a calloused hand through his hair, watching the dockworkers go about their daily business down on the ground below him, loading and unloading merchandise by the crate for a measly payment at the end of the working day. He almost pitied them for a majority of them would never know the joys of having enough coin to buy consumer goods without worrying if they'd have enough to make it through the next week.

The boat slightly rocked back and forth from the water that pressured the hull as Jax walked along the deck, ignoring the stares from crew members who were looking at the mark on his eye. It was almost as though they knew what he was. Impossible. He brushed off the looks with a grin before carrying on to the other end of the ship, where hopefully it was less populated.

The human made it to his destination without being intervened by inquisitive sailors. There were only two others on the opposite end with Jax. One was taking merchandise down into the hull through a little metal hatch and the other was scrubbing the deck clean. He nodded to each man before turning back around and leaning onto the wooden railing. On this side, it just looked out onto the many ramshackle buildings of Sunberth.

Then something caught his eye. Two Dragoons walked out of the same alley he had, in deep conversation. Each man had his hand resting on the hilt of their swords, obviously ready to kill. Jax sank down behind the railing, hoping the two hadn't seen him.

"Weigh anchor!"

The cry from the captain almost made Jax smile as it meant it was time to leave. The sails unfurled from the mast and caught the wind and the ship slowly moved out the Sunberth docks and onwards to new horizons. For Jax anyway.

Jax awoke from his slumber in the itchy hammock that he had to call a bed for the next two-and-a-half weeks. He'd been drifting in and out of consciousness the entire night since the waves outside continuously crashed against the hull of the ship, rocking it backwards and forwards, side to side. It almost made Jax ill, but he somehow managed to keep the sickening sensation from his mind.

He swung his legs over the side of the hammock and planted them onto the damp wooden floor below, before vigorously rubbing his eyes, trying to wake himself up for the events of the day. Jax had slept in his shirtless with just his shorts on. His shirt was somewhere at the foot of his hammock. In his awakened daze, it seemed a mile away.

The human slid along and leaned down to his shirt, picking it up from the floor. It was dirty since it had been trampled on by the sailors clamoring for their beds at the end of a busy working day who had no regard for other's possessions or even their safety.

Worthless shykes.

Jax pulled the shirt over his head before looking around the dimly-lit hull. Four other crew members were asleep in hammocks similar to his own. He recognized one of them as the sailor who'd been scrubbing the deck on his first day aboard the ship. Jax yawned before standing up from his 'bed', and made his way towards the canteen.

The canteen was a little more populated than the sleeping quarters, with two sailors sat hunched over their respective meals and three more dotted around the old, wooden tables and chairs that had obviously seen way too much action in their days aboard the ship. Jax yawned again as he approached the cook who filled a wooden bowl with some kind of soup. It didn't look edible.

Jax nodded to the cook before walking up to the deck. The ship was already in full swing, with each crew member going about their business. He leaned on the railing and looked out across the ocean. Nothing... nothing but ocean. It was the same everywhere Jax looked. The human sighed before tucking into his 'food'.

Jax poured the rest of the soup into his mouth from the bowl before setting it down onto the railing and turning to face the deck and the crew who were going about their daily business and their respective jobs. He nodded at a passing sailor who was carrying a barrel to the opposite end of the ship.

The human sighed as a yell loud as a banshee pierced the air. It was coming from the other end of the ship. Jax, along with three other sailors, sprinted in the noise's direction. A crewman was sprawled out on the floor, with a barrel crushing his foot. He was moaning and groaning in obvious and tremendous pain. Blood was leaking out from under the barrel and slithering through the cracks between the wooden planks that made up the deck.

To one side, the captain was scolding the same sailor who had walked past Jax, carrying the barrel. He'd evidently tripped and dropped the barrel on the unsuspecting man's foot, which had taken him by great surprise and crushed his foot beneath it's weight. Then a thought came into Jax's head that made him smile.

This might be a good time to make Rhysol happy.

Jax knelt down to the injured sailor, smiling. He tried to look as least threatening as possible as he didn't want his victim squirming. The human took hold of the crewman's hand and squeezed it, still smiling. Jax willed all his power into what he was about to attempt. Then a white hot sensation took over Jax's hand for about half a second, and then it was all over. He let go of the other man's hand, informing him it would all be OK before drifting back into the crowd.

Jax awoke once again in his hammock, this time swaying side to side more than normal. He could hear the waves crashing outside, onto the hull, louder than they were the day before and ones before that. The patter of rain drenching the deck above Jax joined the noise of the waves. There were no crewmen asleep in their hammocks, when there should be at least a few. Sailors above on the deck were shouting orders at each other, their voices were filled with worry more than dominance. Something was wrong.

If I get screwed over right before I arrive...

The human got dressed quickly and pulled on his coat. A drop of rainwater fell through the wood above and into the middle of Jax's head before running down his back. It made the hair stand up on his arms since the sudden coldness took him by surprise. He hunched the coat further around his shoulders and walked towards the doors that lead to the deck. As he closed in, the shouting from above got louder and louder.

As Jax made his way up the steps, he pulled his hood up over his head. The rain pounded down harder and harder as the waves lashed against the hull, sometimes spilling over onto the deck and knocked unfortunate sailors that happened to be in it's path onto the floor. Jax tightened his coat and sought out the captain, wanting to know what the plan of action was.

"So, what's happening?"

"Seems we've hit a slight storm. Should pass soon enough."

"You need me to do anything?"

"No sir, we've got this covered. Just stay below deck and you'll be fine."

Jax nodded and quickly made his way back to the hatch that led to the cabins where the crew slept. He slipped on a wet step but managed to stay upright before sitting back down on his hammock, waiting for the storm to pass by so he could go up on deck without being crushed by a wave or hit by a tumbling sailor.

Thoughts.

"Your words."
"NPC's words."

Jax sat in his hammock, waiting for the storm to pass. He felt the ship violently lurch each time a wave crashed against it before correcting itself. Every hit made Jax worried that the ship would just flip over and drown every soul aboard. He put the thought out of his mind and calmed himself down. The sound of yelling sailors and items that had come loose and rolling around the deck filled the human's ears. It was just constant, never-ending, and damn right annoying if anything else.

He clambered up onto his feet and headed for the deck once again, bored with his current location and mood. The wooden staircase was drenched with rainwater, and more slippery than it was previously. Jax slowed himself down, not wanting to fall over and make an idiot of himself, which he had on more than one occasion in his lifetime. As the human was moving up, he thought about the sailor who'd had his foot crushed and then had his suffering made worse by Jax who thought it would have been funny to curse him.

The Chaon pulled his hood over his head and held it in place as the strong winds kept blowing it off each time. The rain poured down onto the ship and all who were above deck. He watched as a crewman slipped over and hit his head on the floor. Jax stifled a chuckle and continued onwards to the captain. A sliding sailor skidded past him and to the opposite end of the ship, against his will as the slippery surface carried him along. Finally though, after battling the cold and wet, he found the captain, hunched over a map.

"So if we go this way..."

"This storm going to pass any time soon, cap'?"

"I do believe so yes. There's some other good news as well."

"Enlighten me."

"Nyka's just over the horizon..."

Thoughts.
"My words."
"You words."
"NPC's words."
