Balcex should probably look down more often...

Known as the Celestial Seat, Nyka is a religious city in Northern Sylira. Ruled by four demigods and traversed by a large crevice, the monk-city is both mystical and dangerous. [Lore]

Drops of water pelted against Balcex's cloak, just another reason he was glad for the absorbent qualities that ramie possessed. The shower was light; he could tell by the slowly clearing sky that it would be over soon. He decided that on this particular day not to bring his spear, especially with the rain's tendency to cause weapons to rust and wither away into blunt uselessness. He kept his Talon sword with him, wrapped in cloth and held with a firm grip in his hand, the hilt poking out of his cloak, the only part that he couldn't really cover with the cloth; it wasn't large enough for that.

Balcex dwelled on his lack of knowledge on Nyka as he walked, still useless at directions, and often finding himself lost or being sent away by monks who had little better to do than bully the guests within the damned city. This was why he decided to head out despite the occurence of rain. He was hoping to at least get a little better at finding his way around the city lest he get himself into any 'Real' trouble. A smirk came to his face as he realized he was getting lost again, and hadn't memorized the way he came, he could have sworn he had past that building before. He dismissed the thought having decided he could probably find his way back one way or another.

---------

Balcex had been walking for quite a while, and it only suited to make him more lost. He was starting to get frustrated by the whole situation, despite the shower having stopped. He turned a corner and began walking as a yip of a dog pierced his ears, causing him to kick out violently as he jumped back. He was caught of guard already and a frown emerged upon his face as he looked down to see the small dog whining in protest from being stepped on. He expected that it was a stray and started to turn a corner before being interrupted.

Stepping Stones (Ball)

Ball moved in a jolt as his poor dog was stepped own and gave out a whimper in fright. The poor mount had already been poked with a cane, thrown about a boat last season, and proceeded to be harassed by its owner. All of this occurred in the last year alone. The cane being the most recent, second to the current stepping on, all this abuse was taking a toll on the poor mount and the squired Pycon that rode it.

Looking up at the giant of a man the Pycon’s fury was becoming something fiercely boiling, and it didn’t take long for it to boil over and for the small clay being to retaliate for the ‘attack’. The next thing Ball knew he was thrusting a large portion of his small body outward towards Balcex’s offending foot, the mass of the part he was thrusting outwardly was stretching thin, the elasticity was quivering the pycon’s being as he stretched towards his target.

The idea was simple in theory, but in working functionality the idea was quite time consuming for Ball. The idea was thus: He would stretch out a part of his body and wrap it around Balcex’s ankle, the tension caused from his stretching would release, causing Ball to rocket towards Balcex, as now the larger being was the anchor that Ball would be connected to…

The complexity was this: Ball only had so much mass to work with, so the stretching, granted was only a few inches away, was enough to make the small Pycon think and concentrate on his motion, feeling with a wavering bulge at the tip of the stretching mass to find his target, once he found the solid form of Balcex’s ankle he would proceed to curve the bulge around the ankle, this would take even more concentration as it was an extremity of Ball in this case, and the pycon needed to keep his stretched form maintained as well as stretch out his feeler-bulge into a tapered mass that would wrap around the whole of the man’s ankle, a task that was simple enough to do on it’s own.

The stretching and bulging stretching in itself took but a second, nothing more.

If the connection stuck, Ball wrapping a portion of himself around Bal’s ankle and then releasing the tension he built up, the resulting impact would really suck for the man.

Graders Please Note :
As Ball is getting closer and closer to maxing out Pyken as a skill, I would like to request that in places where Ball is not doing enough to constitute Pyken XP if Pyken technique lores could be issued instead.

Examples of proper XP level for Pyken would be: Ball developing or refining his technique by adding new thing against an actual moving target, not a dummy.

The use of basic skills alone are not enough to accomplish XP at Ball's current level of Pyken.

Thank you.

Stepping Stones (Ball)

Balcex hardly made it a few inches before something had seemed to touch his leg, This caused him to instinctively look downwards; he had expected the dog from before but instead his eyes accumulated the image of a clay tentacle of sorts wrapping around his leg. Now Balcex is not one with little knowledge; his travels have led him to know of most things, but this was not one of them.

Balcex grunted as he immediately pulled back, expecting that whatever was now wrapped around his ankle was something dangerous, or worse. Worse soon became a reality as a ball of clay seemed to fly at his general direction, and had Balcex not moved his leg, he would have surely had a great headache upon his eventual return to consciousness. Instead, the motion of the Pycon's mass caused an opposite reaction, Balcex's balance was compromised as his leg followed the trajectory of the squid-like ball of clay, and while his leg flew in the air, Balcex found himself on his back in the middle of the road. The mass of confusion caused him to smile awkwardly as he tried to recover and figure out what the hell was going on.

He slowly made his way back up and turned, hands open and ready to hold back the assault of whatever might come his way, his legs were spread to shoulders width and he smiled, still unsure of what it was he was going up against, and still confused by the recent assault, it was the most unusual type of attack he had ever witnessed, and he already felt outside of his comfort zone. He would wait for another attack and then grab the thing any way he could and try to squish it in his hands.

OOCI want to apologize for my response taking so long to get back to you. >.< Normally this wouldn't be the case... Heh RL snuck up on me.

Luckily for Ball he was use to being in the air numerous times in a combat situation usually caused by his own poor judgment of trajectory and his opponent’s sad attempts to reflect him in a different direction. It was Ball’s current opponent’s actions that put Ball in his current position, once the man’s leg went into the air, Ball’s tentacle slipped from his leg and Ball continued upward in the sky.

The man, after regaining a sense of comprehension, stood up placing Ball directly above his head. The man was looking down at the ground expecting the spherical-tentacle squire to be before him. Oops, wrong move, Ball shifted his center of gravity to allow him to drop fast, yet not hard.

And drop he did, landing quite gently yet not light enough to go unnoticed. Even though he may be able to get away with being a heavy raindrop that had fallen, Ball allowed one of his tentacles to ooze and droop slowly down the back of the man’s head and neck, settling on the collar of the man’s shirt.

Ball was soaked, and heavy, so Ball could imagine himself feeling like a wet and heavy raindrop… If a raindrop was comprised of nearly 5 pounds of clay plus the additional water and various other items that is. It small grin formed on Ball’s body, he took two of his tentacles and wrapped them around either side of the man’s face, solidly connecting them at his chin… Now it would appear the man was wearing a brown biker’s helmet on of his head.
