" 35, Spring, 514 AV "

Just after the Dusk Rest had passed, Winona had pocketed around 10
Kina and left the rest of her money sewn within Lorettana's mattress. It had
been six days they first entered Lhavit and Winona had been searching left and
right for something to stimulate her easily spurred mind. Lorettana wouldn't
mind if she decided to explore the city so she might as well find something to
do. Perhaps she would go to the Springwater Square within Shinyama Peak.
Lorettana told her that she heard from many citizens that it was where everyone
liked to celebrate at night.

However, instead of feeling excited, she felt perplexed. She fingered her wily
hair, threading it into one long braidImage. She usually always kept it free but she was
going out tonight... She might as well try to fix herself up? Suddenly, Winona felt
her body tense. Looking around self-consciously, she snuck out a small crayon of
Kohl she had bought a day ago without telling her guardian. All the Lhavitians
looked so extravagant with makeup and jeweled clothing while she... Well, she
was just there. She never really cared about her looks but being so different in
such a large city made her feel out of place. Winona felt raw emotions of
insecurity... Something that she never really felt before. The city may be
absolutely perfect for Lorettana but... Winona was more of a nature gal that
belonged in the dry, hot desert where the pressure for beauty was non-exsistant.

She glanced at the piece of black makeup in her hand, trying to picture how the
other girls had worn it within her mind. Most of them lined their eyes with little
wings at the end but Winona wasn't skilled enough to make it even. Before she
could start, she hesitantly took Lorettana's blanket and dipped it in a bowl of
water. She rubbed her face hard, wiping her tribal stripe clean off. She even
cried a little bit when she did. This was the first time she had ever taken it off
since she left her tribe. Her heart started to race as she pulled out the small
hand mirror that Lorettana hid under her pillow. Her throat felt lumpy as she
tried to swallow down her appearance. Her face looked so... Naked.

Winona's regret increased when she tried her first attempt to line her eyes,
looking smudgy and foreign. Why did she even feel self conscious in the first
place? Maybe, she was finally growing up. She just took a bit longer to realize
that she wanted to be pretty like most teenage girls felt around thirteen. She
wiped her eyes again, her skin feeling sore from her rough scrubbing. Winona
felt a bit frustrated as well, trying to line her eyes all pretty like the other
women. Their mothers must have trained them when they were younger because
it was a lot harder than it looked.

The awkward chaktawe flung the piece of kohl on the floor irritably. She crossed
her arms as she slumped her shoulders. Maybe she shouldn't even go out. Maybe
she should just stay inside like Lorettana did when the moon was out. But then,
she took a moment to think about her sweet guardian. Lorettana wouldn't want
Winona to hide away, she'd want her to go out and have fun. Safe fun of
course. This motivated her to pick up the kohl again, contradicting herself all
the way.

After numerous tries, she finally concocted a random smokeyImage look. She didn't
know how she did it, but she didn't care. It looked good enough to her and didn't
feel like trying again. She peered into the hand mirror, slowly turning her head
side to side for different angles. Winona's lips stretched into a tormented smile.
She kind of liked the new look, but she still felt her heart ache from the removal
of her tribal stripe. She glanced over at her bags, sifting through it to find her
family heirloomImage. She pulled out a beautiful beaded necklace with a gold pendant
right in the middle. Winona wrapped it around her neck, clicking it together in
the back. She glanced back into the mirror. Much better, she didn't look too
bare. She actually felt pretty.

Time to go out... Winona wasn't sure what she would do once she arrives at
Springwater Square. All she knew was... She had to get out of the house before
Lorettana could come home and see the mess she made. She was so going to kill
her for leaving a huge black stain on her blanket!

To Be Swept Away...

Postby Winona_Heath on May 2nd, 2014, 3:53 am

" 35, Spring, 514 AV "

Winona had planned to visit her horse today, outside the Amaranthine Gate.
However, she was sure that it was fine. She did not tie him up and was free to
roam like any animal should. Plus the horse didn't like to wander too far from
where it last saw Winona. It was too skittish for that. Plus it probably made
friends with the Okomo that were found around the wilderness. She felt bad
that it had to be out in the cold weather, since it is a desert dweller just like
Winona. In fact, it worried her so much she actually prayed to the Sun
Goddess to keep her pet warm. Even if it was dark out already... Perhaps she
should pray to the moon god too. This was a pretty big thing since she didn't
really believe in any god or goddess. She never seen them, so why should
she believe they were there? Lorettana was the only one who seemingly pushed
her to pray at all and talk about how good the sun, moon, and time
god/goddesses were. She could care less but she wanted to make her guardian
happy. And plus, it wouldn't hurt to at least try the prayer out. Maybe she would
strike luck and the weather would warm up. Not that a god or a
goddess was triggering it though... Or do they?

As she was wandering around the Shinyama Peak region, she found herself
mesmerized by the bright lights that flickered on as the night sky was making it's
way overhead. It was absolutely gorgeous! The only downfall to this beautiful
place was the fact that it was absolutely freezing. She shivered, crossing her
arms and rubbing herself to keep warm in her black wrapping and harem pants.
Her eyes caught sight of a shop with many robes, tunics and fur coats. There
were some woman that stood outside, draped in jewels and colorful fabrics. As
she passed them to take a peek inside the building, she caught them staring at
her, either with bewilderment or horror. It didn't matter to Winona, it kind of
hurt. Maybe she put her makeup on wrong? Feeling a bit sensitive, the idea of
just being a chaktawe, a fairly unknown species in the area, did not occur to
her. It slipped her mind. Ducking her head, she slipped into the shop with a
wounded self esteem.

"Welcome! How may I help you!" The shopkeeper greeted with a friendly
smile as Winona stumbled inside. The shop was full of people bustling about to
purchase extravagant robes, draped in fake/real jewels. There was a sale going
on but Winona had no knowledge of this or even why. Luckily, the shopkeeper
was right in front of her so her lips were the first thing Winona saw when she
entered. Before she could respond, a very pompous but attractive woman
pushed past her with her bought dress in tow. When Winona gave her a glare,
the woman barely looked at her. Her perfect red lips spreading into a grin with
her nose high in the air. When Winona returned her gaze to the store owner, she
shook her head. "Pay no mind, some people are like that. Do you see anything
that interests you?"
The lady was nice, and her lips moved pretty clear for
Winona to read. What a relief.

The deaf chaktawe said nothing, just browsing the racks for a brief moment
before pointing to the line of untouched tunics. All the women were crowding
around the dresses and robes. "Modest are we?" The lady flashed a smile
and lead her through the chaos. Once they reached the racks of tunics, Winona
brushed her hand through them. Most of them were pretty, with a few plain ones
here and there but one caught her eye. The shop keeper stared at her, "You
want to try this on?"
She asked, pointing to the one that Winona was fixated
on. "You might have to wait for a changing room though since they're all full."
Winona missed the first part of course, just noticing the woman speaking.
She blinked, nodding slowly as to pretend that she understood.

Unsure of how many chimes have been wasted, the young chaktawe exited the
store with her old clothes in a small bag. Although she wasn't flashy, she felt
unbelievably beautiful. Her light, frothy fine wool tunicImage sashaying with her legs. She
completely forgot that she had only meant to buy a fur coat. Oh well, she felt
too pretty to care. As she passed another shop window, she had to stop and take
a glance at herself. Her black eyes trailed the beads that lined the neck of the
dress and how the dress curved with her body like the other women in Lhavit.
That's what Winona was. A woman. A very beautiful woman. Wait till Lorettana
sees her! She would be so proud. Actually, she'd probably cry and complain that
she was growing up too fast...

Once she turned her head, her eyes met with another man's. He was standing
outside of some building called the Obsidian Club. Was he staring at her? Winona
did a shy wave, only to frown as he gave Winona a strange look then waving to a
different woman that was running up to him. Blushing bright red with
embarrassment, she spun on her heels and was about to start down the street
when suddenly, she collided into another individual. She was almost knocked
down but she was able to stabilize herself by viciously waving her arms in
circles. However the person she ran into was already flat on his bottom.
"Whoa! Hey there, pretty lady! Sorry about that!" He apologized quickly,
pushing up off the ground and dusting himself off. Winona blinked, staring at the
man in bewilderment. "I sorry... Ah..." She hesitated, completely
distracted. Her stomach felt light and fluttery, which was unusual when she met
people. She mostly just came off as distant and hard to strangers. Perhaps it was
because of his usually light hair or maybe the fact that he was extremely
attractive overall. What was that color called? Yellow? Gold? She was tempted to
ask but her lips tightened and her throat was dry. His clover eyes bore into hers,
forming a crinkled smile across his face.

"Wow, you're much different from the women I usually meet, gorgeous. What's
your name? My name's Charlie."
He held out a hand. Something was alluring
about this man and... Winona liked it.

"Nice to meet, Charlie. I am Winona." Did she sound strange? She hoped
not. However, he didn't seem weirded out by her voice. In fact, he seemed to
smile wider. Oh gods he had a nice smile.

"That's a beautiful name," She took his hand in hers and shook it. But when
she tried to let go, he twirled her around and slid a hand around her waist. "I
know we've just met but would you like to go to the Obsidian club with me? I'd
love to get to know you better, Winona. I bet you're a great dancer."
Push him
away! Lorettana would have called him a pervert and slap him across the face
from such an intrusion. Instead, her body felt hot and sweaty, feeling most of
the heat rush to her face.

"I do not think I stay long..." She hesitated, feeling a bit dirty for even
touching a man. "But, okay." He chuckled and drew away. "Lovely,"
His mouth began to move, her eyes following every twitch. "I'm lucky to have
run into you then. I've never met such an exotic woman before. Thank you for
even giving me the time of day."
He kissed her hand, causing it to tingle then
offering his arm to lead her to the dance club just ahead of them.

Although she felt as if she had struck gold, meeting such a nice man that
actually thought her hard efforts to be pretty were perfect. Yet, she felt a
bit of dread in the pit of her stomach. She didn't know what it was, but she
didn't care. Winona was in the middle of feeling the effects of having her first
crush and definitely didn't want it to end.

Going out was probably the best decision she ever made!

To Be Swept Away...

" 35, Spring, 514 AV "

The place was massive! The club looked so much smaller on the outside but then
again, one should not judge a book by it's cover. And despite the size, the club
was almost filled to the brim with people. The lights flickered different colors,
the beat of the music was so loud that her body could feel it's vibrations, and
there were many laughing souls drinking their life away. A lot of people were on
the dance floor as well, moving to the beat of the music. Although Winona could
not hear it, she could feel it. She tapped her foot to the beat, a smile creeping
onto her face. She liked this feeling. Usually whenever music played, it wasn't
like this. It was a new experience.

"Isn't it great?" Charlie shouted, seemingly unaware of Winona's
impairment. The only problem she really had with this place was the way it
made her fingers warble with irritation. There was so much movement and
action going on in this club her hands were numb. Suddenly, the golden haired
man wrapped his fingers around hers. When their eyes met he sported a cheeky
grin. "Let's dance."

"Oh, I not dance..." She trailed off, already being dragged across the floor
and into the middle of the crowd. She felt uncomfortable and sweaty, the heat
radiating off the dancers. It suffocated her. "Oh come on, I know you can. I
can teach you."
He laughed, rubbing her numb fingers with his warm hands.
He let go for a moment, stepping back as if he were going to show Winona a
trick. His hips started twisting in a wavy motion, both hands snapping their
fingers. Even his neck started moving a little, bobbing to the beat. His meadow
hues glued to her black ones causing Winona to feel shy again. "You try!"

Winona hesitated, standing still amongst the excited and vigorous dancers. She
slowly mimicked his movements. Her hips moving awkwardly side to side while
her feet were firmly planted to the ground. Charlie chuckled and reproached
her, his hands slipping to her waist. She glanced up at him with her eyebrows
furrowed, unsure of what he was trying to accomplish. He began to use his hands
to help her move her waist to the right sway as his. Winona looked down at his
feet, tapping slightly as he moved so she did the same. Soon enough, they both
started dancing at the same pace. "There we go! You've got it!" Winona
missed the first part like always. She could feel his breath though, knowing that
she had to pay attention to his mouth. By the time she did, he was silent. His
gaze intense as the beat and the movement around them.

"Don't be afraid to be different from the rest." His lips moving a bit slower
as if he were whispering. Winona felt her heart leap again. It was as if he knew
her and what she was going through. How would he know about her insecurities?
"It makes you special, Winny." Wait, that wasn't her name? Oh wait, is that
what nicknames are? Oh gods, he gave her a nickname! Suddenly, his face
started to come closer to hers. In instinct, her head moved back a little but she
felt his hand slide up behind her neck. Suddenly, their lips crashed into each
other. Winona flinched, unsure of how to react. Her eyes were wide open in
shock. He slowly drew away, his face flushed. "Whoops, sorry. Ah... Would you
like a drink?"
Winona raised an eyebrow and shrugged. Wait did he just... He
quickly distracted her before she could even think, pointing to the bar where
the quirky, boisterous people sat, waving their arms and spilling their drinks
everywhere. "There. We can order a Lava Peach or something."

He seemed a bit flustered, leading her through the crowd. Winona was still in a
state of shock. He just... She couldn't even... He offered her a seat by the bar,
basically pushing her into the chair. He plopped himself right beside her and
flashed a short smile. "Two Lava Peaches please!" He waved a hand to the
mixologist. Winona stared down at the desk, mixed feelings rushing into her
body. When she felt a tap on her shoulder, she returned to his gaze. "I'm
incredibly sorry for my behavior."
He rubbed his chin a bit, a tortured look
flashing over. "It was not my place. I don't even know if you're interested."
Winona instantly felt upset, but she held back the impulsions. "No, no!"
He had made her feel horrible. "It okay. It... It my fault! You okay. You fine. I
sorry."
She stuttered, in attempt to make Charlie feel better. In an instant,
he brightened. "Alright, I forgive you. I'll be right back. Enjoy the Lava Peach,
darling. I promise, I'll be right back."
Winona nodded, and he drifted off. She
spun around in her chair, facing the bartender again and watched the drink be
created right in front of her.

It was almost morning and Charlie hadn't returned. Perhaps the thing he had to
do was very important. Winona was willing to wait at first but now this was just
getting ridiculous. A lot of the people that sat at the bar either left to dance or
were shooed away by the bartender, saying that they had too much to drink and
had to leave. Winona hadn't touched the Lava Peach, thinking that she could
drink it with Charlie once he comes back but now... She glanced at the cup,
taking it in her hand and gulping it down. She coughed violently at the first sip,
spilling some of it on the floor. It burned profusely as it scratched down her
throat with only a hint of peach on her tongue. The bartender flickered her
attention on her. "You're first time drinking, eh?" Winona ignored her,
unable to tell if she was talking with her fingers too numb to feel anything or
anyone. She wanted to leave... but Charlie... "Don't drink too much then or
you won't be able to walk home."
The bartender shrugged, not taking
Winona's behavior rude at all as if it happened all the time.

That's it, she was going to find him. She waited long enough.

[Obsidian Club] To Be Swept Away...

Postby Winona_Heath on May 3rd, 2014, 7:45 pm

" 35, Spring 514 AV "

How should Winona even feel right now? Frustrated? Annoyed? Love struck?
Upset? Confused? Maybe a little bit tipsy? There were too many to handle right
now as Winona began to rise from her chair. She didn't even have time to react
to her very first kiss. She had never been close to a man before and it frightened
her. Was she going to be pregnant? Was she endangered to diseases? She wasn't
ready! She didn't know enough about men in the first place. The closest she ever
was to a man was more of an acquaintance or even a little bit of a friendship.
She wasn't even close to her brothers or father. She was already starting to
forget what they looked like. Winona stood on her toes to try and see all the
people on the dance floor. Luckily, most of the people left or were about to
leave since the light of day was starting to flood in from the doorway. It was a
hint to the people that it was time to go home and have a ridiculous hangover.
Before she approached the dance floor, she pulled out a kina from her bag and
paid for the drink herself.

Winona couldn't find Charlie's handsome face in the crowd. Where else could he
be? She started to push through the crowd, each giving her a nasty look when
she interrupted their groove. Instead of the beat of the music being delightful as
she first felt it, it was more stressful as it made her heartbeat quicken. She felt
clammy and nervous. What if he came back to the table when she left? What if
he left altogether because she wasn't there anymore! Even though it took her
forever to squeeze into the middle, she started to squeeze back. Some of the
people even started to complain when she returned to push them aside. One girl
even shoved her back and caused her to fall over. In a fit of terror, she thought
she was about to be trampled over by the dancers but luckily, she crawled out
just in time.

Winona could feel tears threatening to fall but she forced them to hold back.
She felt like a lost child, wishing Lorettana was there to comfort her and tell her
everything would be okay. She noticed a few couples lined up on the opposite
side of the dance floor. They were kissing and rubbing each other passionately
against the wall. For a moment, Winona didn't pay any attention to them. Until
a flash of golden hair was caught in the corner of her eye. Hold up. What the
hell was he doing over there? There was a sickening drop in her stomach as she
slowly turned her head. She pleaded to nothingness that it wasn't him. It
couldn't be him. He kissed her! That meant he loved her right?

There he was, sharing spit with another woman. The woman was tall and thick
around the waist and butt, her black robe tight against her body. Her thick, curly
brown hair was loose and draped to her shoulders. Winona felt her heart shatter
as she stared at them with a hollow gaze. She couldn't believe it. The bastard
played with her and her feelings. He cheated her! He stole her innocence!
Winona felt like running away, just to hide away and cry all by herself. But
instead, she stormed up to them with malice in her deathly black eyes. Once she
gotten close enough, he drew his lips away from the woman, licking his lips and
smiling from ear to ear. "You're so sexy. We should rent a private room
together."
She read from his rotten mouth. Before they could get intimate,
she thrusted her hand onto the slut's shoulder and tore her away from the
cheater. The woman cried out in shock, almost falling to the floor like a stupid
drunk. Winona glared into his eyes. He looked at her like she was a monster,
which enraged her even more. And with that, she struck him hard across the
face. "You petching bastard!" Winona screamed at him, turning away and
running off from them. This time the tears spilled.

"Damn, I really wanted to sleep with her." He replied smugly, and
unfortunately, Winona would never know what he said.

" Winona, The Deaf Spirit "

The chill of the morning bit Winona's face as she ran down the street towards
the Gates. Her eyes burned from the tears streaming down her cheeks. She
didn't care if her makeup now made her look like a raccoon or if her braid was
coming apart. She was too upset, too angry to care. After a chime or two, she
made it to the gate, barely glancing up at the guards. "I return soon." Winona
shouted up at them, sniffling and wiping her eyes, spreading the kohl around her
face even more.

Winona began to make her way across the bridge, steadying herself carefully so
as not to break through and fall to her death. Luckily, she went across faster
than she did when she first entered Lhavit. Once she got across, she rubbed her
feet in the dirt, thankful that she was still alive. Crossing the bridge kind of
distracted her from the recent heart break but it still ached. So to focus on
ignoring it even more, she began to climb down the mountain again. She kept
tapping her next step down before fully trusting the rock with her weight.
Winona couldn't help but sob softly as she did. It was too new, too fresh to
ignore. She used her shoulder to rub away the tears and kohl that stuck to her
face. This was going to take a while... She couldn't wait to reach the bottom and
hide in the wilderness.

The chill made her shiver violently, her body tired from staying up so late. She
wasn't used to the sleeping schedule that Lhavit had. She had finally made it to
the bottom, hopping from the rocks into the cool, lush grass once she estimated
that the ground wasn't too far down. She wandered into wilderness, the sun
peeping through the leaves of the trees above her. The first thought that popped
into her head was to visit her horse. Winona wanted to visit it anyway, unsure if
it was safe or not. Not too far from the mountain climbing, she caught sight of
her horse munching on the grass by a small, icey river. Winona clicked her
tongue, causing the horse to stir from it's grazing. It stared at her, digging at the
ground as if to say hello. She smiled weakly at her horse, trotting over to it and
plopping on the ground next to it. The horse kept standing but nuzzled the back
of Winona's head with it's muzzle.

"Hello, horsie." She sighed, staring at the river reflection with dismay. She
looked awful, hideous. In a mini tantrum-like rage, she swiped her hand through
the stream, causing the freezing water to splash herself. She began to cry again,
dropping her head into her hands, black with makeup. Her makeup was ruined,
her hair was ruined, her dress was all wet, and her heart was broken. The only
thing that made her feel just the slightest bit better was when her horse licked
the back of her neck with it's rough tongue. She scoffed at the horse, pushing it's
head away. "Very gross. I upset right now. Do not bother." She complained,
but a small grin flashed over her face when the horse dug at the ground again.

"Don't be so grumpy. I finally get to see you and you come here like this? I'm
not a counselor you know."
She imagined her horse was thinking through it's
movements and little neighs. It was really only begging for attention, but she
liked to imagine that it talked to her.

Winona rolled her eyes, crouching by the stream and using it's fresh, cold water
to wash away the makeup on her face. She glanced into the reflection again.
Sadness gripped at her heart when her naked face stared back at her. She
shouldn't have taken off her tribal stripe. She shouldn't have felt the need to
change. She should have been herself. She was prettier just being herself
anyway. "You right, horse." She muttered as she fingered her braid apart
and let her hair free once again. The trinity of the small little place in the
wilderness made her soul at peace again. She forced herself to forget todays'
events. She forced herself to push away the thoughts of Charlie or the slut. The
only thing she wanted to think about was how happy she felt by just being
herself
...

And how great it would be to just lay there and take a nap.
She was extremely exhausted.

Notes :
Alright, the first thing I’m going to say is I assure you Winona won’t be impregnated by someone simply from kissing them. That bit in one of your posts literally had me laughing for several minutes! :P I love how adorable Winona is and I really look forward to seeing how she grows into the environment around her. But, just a warning: don’t let her grow up too fast! :) That would be terrible, because she is just a terribly cute kid. Overall, this was such a wonderful thread, and I'm sorry that the man she met at the club was a real jerk.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding your grade, please don't hesitate to send me a private message!
