Ocean blue eyes glittered with wonder, mesmerized by the sight of such a beautiful creature. Was this a dream? Nyxie took Ora’s hand and stood in front of the Otani, listening to it sing a song about their lord, Laviku. She grinned, eager to hear it again.
“I think I can remember that! Let’s see,” she tilted her head and looked off to the side, putting the words together in her mind before she attempted to repeat them.
“Here now comes the lord of the sea,
In his eyes the secret of the world lies.”
Her voice was shrill, lacking the euphonious quality that the creature used for the tune. She was slightly off-pitch, too. But young Nyxie was blissfully unaware as she imagined herself to be singing just wonderfully. She turned to Orabelle and continued the song, swinging her hand in time with the rhythm.
“A world which lies where human eyes
Are never allowed to see.”
Nyxie giggled. She really liked singing. It made her feel good, almost as if it tranquilized her with pure joy, soothing her nerves and elevating her spirits. She wanted to do it again.
“Uleru, I loved that song! Thank you very much for showing it to us,” Nyx reached out to touch the shimmery head of the woman before her. It felt squishy, like the head of a jellyfish. She liked her. “You’re very nice. Let’s be friends! Come on Ora, let’s all play and sing in the ocean together~” The redhead didn’t wait for a response. She gripped Ora’s hand and pulled at it, jumping into the sea with a splash.
Nyxie resurfaced and wiped the water from her eyes. She stared at the boat with a frown before wiping her eyes again. Did she do something wrong? She swam in a circle, hoping to find out what had happened.
The Otani disappeared.
OOCUleru retired, and asked us to ease her out of the story.
