They would not be staying here long, was the phrase that Kalina had to repeat over and over to herself, seeing as Marcus, and the other members of their odd little travelling party, kept reminding her. She wasnt to wander off, and she was especially not to wander far. The young Kelvic knew of the dangers that she had left behind in the water-city, but she had been told that, though the dangers here were different, they were no less real. That fact had been drilled into her head. No matter what she was told, however, the Kelvic had little to no sense of self-preservation, and the concept of stranger-danger was a foreign one; everyone, and everything, she saw was a potential play-mate to the kitten.

This knowledge that there were new people just outside her door was murder to the year old. During their entire season of travel, Kalina had had her way numerous times, and all of her party had been enticed to give her attention, whether they had wanted to or not. now though, since arriving in the city, she was all but ignored, unless she was bing told to be careful. Two days after arriving in the city, Kalina seizes her opportunity to escape and explore.

The decision to head out in human form was borne out of laziness; the Kelvic didn't want to waste what precious time she had shifting out of the clothes in order to morph into her ocelot form. So out she went, in one of the dresses Marcus had bought her more than a season ago, to see the new city they had arrived in. If there were many differences between this city and Ravok, the normally observant Kalina doesn't notice them; the entirety of her thought process was taken over by the realisation that this city did not have water wherever she looked. The child had finally gotten over her fear and resentment of the wet substance, the travels she had been on meant that she could not always avoid water, whether it came in big bodies from the ground or in tiny droplets from the sky. If anything, she now found enjoyment in playing, delighting in the sounds her paws would make.

That being said, she was glad to be out of the water-based city. There was a vast difference between a little water, and water everywhere.

Self-centred as she was, the looks she was getting from the people around her couldn't be ignored, and it made her uneasy, to an extent. It was this, more than the warnings she had received from her Master, that kept her close to where they were staying. They were only here for a brief period of time and Kalina could not afford to get lost in this city.

Assilsa stood with her arms crossed over her chest, being sixteen was boring, if she was to return home Assilsa, would be partying, dating or something however here Assilsa was hunting, dying attempting not to kill anyone. Biting her lip slightly, she scanned the crowd looking for something, anything at all, to keep her amused for the day.
Today Assilsa had decided to wear a something less ‘poppy’ she would have worn her hunting gear accept it was grubby, so she was just wearing her corset and a pair of breaches. The continual movement of the crowd began to tire the symenstra, however she stayed watching the crowd since she had nothing else to do…
Sighing softly Assilsa bared her fangs, she needed excitement, something to open up her instincts, either predatorily ones or motherly ones she didn’t care. Excitement was need or Assilsa was going to go insane.

Child's Play (Silsa)

Themoss-green eyes were a dead give-away for anyone observant enough to look at the apparent seven year old, and many must have noticed something odd about the young girl, given the looks she was now definitely beginning to notice, along with the avoidance of most people. Kalina had seen hostile and curious before, back when she was in Ravok. She had even, on one occasion, been targeted by a group of young men. There, however, she had been saved by Amelia.

Though the little Kelvic was well aware that Amelia was somewhere in the city, she did not know where, and all of a sudden, the one year old was feeling apprehensive, and was regretting having left their lodgings alone, more so, in human form, her senses weren't a heightened as they were in ocelot form, nor could she protect herself. And she'd never risk ruining or losing the clothes she was wearing, which were a gift from her Master, so morphing was not an option.

The girl stands still, her unblinking eyes scan the area as she scratches her upper arm absentmindedly. Eventually she turns, having decided to return to the lodgings and wait for the return of people she actually knew, and felt safe around.

But her eyes catch another, someone different from the majority of people walking around the new city: someone paler, a young woman. And there was something in her gaze, her expression, which set Kalina on edge slightly. It was something that Kalina recognised, having felt boredom many times before, but there was something else, something more malicious in her gaze. The Kelvic doesn't move, staring blankly, trying to work out what it was.

Still standing against the wall Assilsa sighed. She should go for a walk or something. Taking one last look around Assilsa noticed a small girl staring at her with eyes of the most beautiful green. Her ruby eyes met that of the girls as she observed the girl, She was wearing what looked like an old dress.

Assilsa continued to stare as she continued to stare back, taking a small step forward Assilsa noticed that there was a sense of curiosity yet also a sense of fear. Smiling politely she took another step forward closing the gap between the pair.

Smiling, taking extra care in hiding her fangs for once, Assilsa extending her hand to the small child. Assilsa loved children, they seemed to always have a sense of wonder about them , a sense of magic almost.

“Hello,”

Child's Play (Silsa)

The pale girl was approaching her and for a moment, Kalina considers bolting. Such was the warnings that the little Kelvic had received from the adults in her travelling party that she was wary. Despite this, she was still a child, and a Kelvic, and curiosity was paramount to her nature.

Kalina remembers back to meeting another who was deemed different by those around. A darker grey to everyone else, the Zith had been, whereas this older girl was paler than anyone she had ever seen. And she didn't have big wings protruding from her back. Still, there was something very primal about the young woman approaching her, though her deadly nature was lost on the four season old Kelvic, whose expression breaks from reserved as an unrivalled grin appears.

Previously dilated pupils return to their cat-like slits, the moss green revealing more of her nature to anyone looking carefully enough at the apparent seven year old. In blind excitement at the prospect of receiving attention from someone other than a person in her travelling party, all of whom had most likely grown bored of her antics, Kalina begins to bounce up and down very slightly, shifting from foot to foot in anticipation. She brushes her brown-grey hair out of her face irritably as it falls forward from her movements; she had never had it cut, and so it reached a substantial way down her back.

In response to the pale girl greeting her, Kalina squeaks, still grinning wildly. She raises a hand, as she had seen others do in greeting, and waves it, though not quite getting the gesture correct, "
Hi!" Her voice is high, much like a child's, "I'm Kalina! Who are you?"

She doesn't give the older girl a chance to respond, however, as she launches into speech, her mouth running at a mile a minute. "
I've come here with Marcus, he's my Master, and two of his friends, well, Amelia is my friend really, she saved me from bullies back where we come from. It's this place called Ravok, and it's a city on water! I didn't like it when I first saw it but when we were trav'ling here I tried to go for a swim in a lake and it wasn't all that bad. I also learnt to hunt a little but I couldn't catch a deer, it ran away, but I got some rats and I ate one and gave the other to Matser and I think he liked it but I went to bed before I saw him eat it but it was gone the next morning so he must have!"

Child's Play (Silsa)

Blinking her red eyes as the girl in front of her began to talk at speeds that Assilsa didn’t even know what possible. She was a slave, this brought back many unwanted memories.

Lightening crashing in the dramatic background, rain pouring and causing the world to retreat to the safety of being dry. Assilsa stood on a roof with her weapon drawn facing down two large and heavy Salvers.

Shaking the thought from her head Assilsa crouched down so she was roughly the same height as Kalina. She listened intently to the words that came like a large wave towards her, this poor child was certainly experienced in many fields, and yet she was a slave… Once Kalina had finished with her tirade of words Assilsa smiles slightly.

“Assilsa, a deer huh? That’s pretty big! Im sure with a little help you could take one down!”

Assilsa remembered the day that she had managed a dear, by complete coincidence however she still handed it in. It fetched a grand prize, the fact that Assilsa had actually managed to catch one.

Resting her pale hands on her knees Assilsa wondered if this little beautiful girl would be alone while she hunted, or if she was with others while she hunted… Assilsa remembered her first hunting trip all night.

The young girl's face drops at the memory of the deer, now that she was thinking about it more. She dips her head, her cheeks flaming up slightly in front of the older girl who clearly seemed more able to hunt than she was.

"
Well... you see wasn't quick enough, but I really want to try again soon." She glances back up, "Master says we're going to another city soon, not staying here for long. I hoped we were going back out so I could maybe try again but then he said we were going to go on a boat and that means I can't find a deer. I don't think there will be deer on a boat, I've never seen them on the boats I've been on. We are going to somewhere called... called... Zet-zel... Zel-somewhere. Do you know it? Is it nice?"

The Kelvic shifts again, scratching unconsciously at her lower arm as she thinks, "
I don't like boats. They go on the water. Why do I have to go on a boat? Water isn't that bad... I learnt how to swim a little bit, not much, but I tried it and it wasn't so bad, being wet and all. But that's... It looks like a lot of water and lots of water isn't good. But at least I don't have to swim all the way there... I have to sleep."

She takes a breath, "
But I like so sleep at day time, and not be awake... 'cause I like the dark... I can see perfect in the dark, you know!" Kali grins at this announcement, proud of something she knew her Master wasn't so good at, but she was good at. The things that she could do better than Marcus were few and far between, and most of said things were purely down to what she was, rather than what she had learnt. But she was proud all the same.

"
Can you... what you say... take a deer down?"

Additional Comments

There wasn't much going on in this thread I'm afraid. There was more on your side, Kalina, than Assilsa's. It was a thread that had promise, Kalina's giddiness and eagerness to speak likely to have had interesting results. Shame it was cut so short.

Please edit or delete your grade request and PM me if you have any questions or concerns about your grade.
