Taloba, home to the Myrians, is the thriving core of Falyndar. Inhabited by a fierce and savage tribe where blood sacrifices are normal and a way of life, they are untamed and proud of it. Warlike, and with their numbers growing, the Myrians are set on reclaiming what is rightfully theirs. [Lore]

Outside of the Military Complex of Taloba in a fairly wooded area of the city lies a group of stilted buildings referred to collectively as 'The Medicine House.'

Myrians take the idea of medicine for any number of things past simply fixing a wound. While savage warriors they believe firmly in illnesses of the soul and mind just as ably as the physical, and the Medicine House acts as a place of healing for all kinds of maladies large and small, visible and mental.

As well as boasting an impressive medical facility the 'house' holds a set of cold and hot springs below it, masseuses, acupuncturists, the finest chefs Taloba has to offer, and the all popular smoking houses where warriors can relax over a pipe or bowl of tabacco and other plants aimed to relax the user and open their minds to worlds beyond their own. Truly the buildings act as a small world entirely of their own, and Traya, who works as the overseer of the House, claims that one can do everything but sleep there.

Traya
Race: Myrian
Age: You'll get murdered for asking
Position: Head of 'House'
Skills: Management 60, Leadership 50, Medicine 43, Acupuncture 60
Other: Whatever clan Traya belonged to was lost long ago. Seemingly well past the age any Myrian should live, Traya is surprisingly spritely for her stooped and wrinkled form. When not wandering the collection of houses, sampling the fresh tabacco to ensure its quality and taking snacks from the chefs she is generally working on some sore Myrian in her Acupuncture stall. She ensures that the House is run smoothly, and is always willing to take the time to stop and talk with someone to better direct them to the room that will most aid in their current problems.

Kiyal
Race: Myrian
Age: 38
Position: Bouncer
Skills: Brawling 50, Leadership 20, Long Spear 50, Dagger 26
Other:

Kiyal moves about the Medicine House as well, though with entirely different purpose than Traya. She is a fierce and stoic female, who uses only a few of the services offered int he house and is quick to oust anyone causing trouble. A fang lies under her command that act as guards to the house, both from those who haven't paid and from the ones who already have.

Businesses
All of the businesses in the Medicine House are free to use. All that is required of someone wishing to enter is to pay based one how long you wish to stay. It costs one bikka for an hour, 2 bikka for three hours, 4 bikka for five, and 6 bikka for an entire day. Depending on the duration of someone's stay they will receive a stamp upon their hand with a correlating symbol so that the guards and proprietors know when to stop serving a guest.

The Sushi House

The Sushi House is home to some of finest chefs in Taloba. All though its name sake is what is featured most prominently, any Myrian searching for grilled meats or fruits can find them as well as raw fish. There are several rolls that are said to provide a risk of fatality, namely blow fish and several types of poisonous octopus. No one has ever reported a death from the Medicine House from such a meal, but stories say they merely cover up the numerous fools who meet a fatal end.

The Massage House

This is where several fine masseuses work upon the weary Myrian warrior, using acupuncture, hot stones, massage, and even oils and pastes made from medicinal plants.

The Medicine Room

Directly Adjoining the Massage House, the medicine room is more for actual healing than relaxation. It is often filled with injured Myrians who gained such ailments outside of the military, who have their own sick bays for injured soldiers. Things like arthritis, nausea, birthing, and work related injuries are brought to and treated in the medicine room. Those who are in need of healing do not buy a stamp at the entrance, but pay the appropriate amount when leaving, their cost corresponding with the time they were required to stay in the Medicine Room.

The Smoke House

Located at the back of the Medicine House, the Smoke House is a shuttered and often stifling room constantly encased in twining pillars of fumes from this tabacco or that mushroom. It is a room watched quite closely by the guards, for Myrian reactions to such mind altering drugs can often result in volatile eruptions.

The Pools

Located beneath the stilted structure that holds the Medicine House upright are the hot and cold springs for which Myrians to kick back and relax in the waters according to their mood.

Employment
The Medicine House is constantly seeking new chefs, guards, laborers, and other odd positions to maintain the many attractions at the collection of long houses. The positions open are as follows:

Healers for the Medicine Room 9 GM per day

Reimancers to heat the Hot Spring, maintain the earth around it, provide water for patients or to clear out the Smoke House at the end of the night 7 GM per day

Laborer 2 GM per day

Chefs for the Sushi House 3 GM per day

Herbalists for the Medicine Room and the Smoke Room 6 GM per day

Gardener to Maintain the grounds 3 GM per day

If you are looking to seek employment at the Medicine House, contact a local ST with the position you're seeking.

The Medicine House

Destruction: 9th of Fall

Kiyal had been at the door, watching the horizon burn brightly as the fires grew and consumed vegetation before it. Traya and the other employees of the Medicine house had grown incredibly busy with burn victims. Myrians that had been caught in the fire or were trying their best to help out were filling the beds where patrons normally relaxed. They mended them while Kiyal kept careful watch, praying to Myri that the flames would not get close enough.

Out of site, a tall tree behind the medicine house creaked. Embers clung to the branches where the Myrians had not been able to completely douse the flame. A great wind came tearing through the jungle. With its weakened trunk, there was a thunderous CRACK. The tree tilted and fell, dropping between the Medicine House and Sushi House. The embers leapt to life, fueled by the whistle of oxygen. Fire caught hold of the Medicine House and Sushi House.

Due to the importance of this house, Myrians were quick to respond and get the fire out by the 10th of Fall. Kiyal had taken the stubborn Traya to a safe place until the fires out. They returned on the 12th.

OOCThis location has been damaged. A wall of the medicine house and half of the Sushi house have been burned away. Traya and Kiyal are still present, although both will have side-effects of smoke inhalation.
