Day 10, Autumn, 514 AV
~21st Bell

Shadiss wanted to stay under the radar, more so now than ever. She was aware that once people had begun to take notice of someone, they could very begin to learn their patterns. So, she had decided to case out a new tavern, The Drunken Fish to be exact. It was a place that she had learned was mostly full of sailors and that many kind of activities could be had. A desirable place, so long as one kept their purse close to their form, or not carry mizas around at all. The poisoner mostly wanted more venues to meet clients so then her actions and patterns could not be traced. She wanted to be a shadow, a shadow that created poisons and made people quake with just a name. So, here she was, standing in front of the door that would take her inside of The Drunken fish and her crimson gaze took note of the sign for a moment before she pushed back the hood of her long black coat. She was skeptical for this place seemed to be a lot more rowdy than The Pig’s Foot, but that may be because of the simple fact that brawls were allowed here. There was more freedom with what people could do within The Drunken Fish.

Silently, she would push through the door and the noises that she could hear from outside, would instantly became louder. The laughter as men clinked their mugs and shared stories of good times that had gone by or even jokes that were not very funny, but were funny to the men that were drunk. Silently she made her way over to the large bar as she continued to make notes of the occupants. Some brute seemed to be in some kind of head lock as another brute appeared to be punching the other. Hooded figures seem to be circling the room and she pulled the edges of her coat closer, so then to make sure that no thief could get to her purse. The woman had only brought a couple of silvers, for she was also on another hunt, a hunt that wasn’t just for a desirable location. ”A mug of ale," she told the barmaid and sat the correct amount of mizas down upon the bar counter, the barmaid gathered up these mizas and set about getting Shadiss her drink. Indeed, this location seemed ideal enough to meet with people, for not many were actually paying attention to those within the bar, preferring to mind their own business.

Once the bar maid returned with Shadiss’s drink, she turned to face the counter of the bar, lifting the mug of ale to take that first delicious mouthful. She enjoyed her ale as much as she enjoyed creating poisons, she also par-took in activities of the flesh, which was another reason why she was here, to scout out for a potential bed mate. Someone who could actually handle her pace, for she could get pretty forceful, especially when it was about something that she wanted. The Dhani would set her mug down upon the bar as her crimson gaze would glance over the patrons once more, for the moment she was going to simply watch before she did anything. Observation was an important tool and she knew this, it was needed to identify herbs while out chasing them within the wilds. Her gaze slipped over men and women a like and she couldn’t help but notice that some were thin. Indeed, she knew that life within Sunberth was not an easy one, some people suffered while others strived. Shadiss had only survived long enough because she relied heavily upon her profession as a poisoner, a profession that she enjoyed. A simple smirk fell upon her lips as she pulled her mug close to her form, if only they knew that a poisoner was amongst them, it probably would not be met with a welcome. Indeed, poison-crafters were not welcomed among most people, which was why she preferred to operate under the radar.

[Drunken Fish] A Different Kind of Hunting [Shakune]

Shakune had been sober for eight entire bells, which was far, far, far too long for her liking.

She dashed into the Drunken fish a little like a hurricane on legs. Her black eyes darted left and right, searching for a barmaid to holler her order to. When none could be seen, she gave a disgruntled huff and began the painful process of pushing and shoving her way to the bar.

Usually, she was a woman who delighted in the company of rough sailors, drinking deeply and laughing loudly. On some rare occasions, however, she found herself frustrated and easily irritated at their immature jokes and dirty minds. Such cases, she had decided, were when she craved the company of other women - and not just sexually. Shakune commonly found herself surrounded by men; most of her friends were male, and the majority of her business contacts were also. She found that men were simple creatures, easily entertained and easy company. Women, however, were catty and proud. They hunted down petty rivalries like carnivores did with prey, and Shakune normally had no interest in such social ties.

Other times, however, she wanted to gossip and laugh with other women. Her male friends had no interest in who was sleeping with who (unless of course, they were boasting about their latest conquests), and the only comment they made about a woman would usually regard her tits or arse.

She eventually battled her way through the crowd, half-falling and only just stopping herself clattering down by gripping onto the surface of the bar. With a triumphant smile and nod, she stood upright and gave out her order. A pint of ale was exchanged for a few coins, and Shakune drank deeply, making almost half of the pint disappear in one chug. With a satisfied sigh, she allowed herself to finally relax, and people watch.

Red eyes caught her attention - usually Shakune was the only strange-eyed individual in the tavern - and she raised her tankard to the woman to her right. "Evening." It was one of her more civilised greetings.

The bustle of the tavern was not exactly a welcomed sound, for she quite enjoyed the silence of solitude. However, she also needed to make new connections for her poisons to be passed onto. To create new ties so then she would be left alone to do what she did best. For that, she had to mingle with people, as much as she didn’t want to, it was a necessary evil. Hopefully, it would turn out to be some-what beneficial to the woman. Shadiss lifted her drink, only to stop halfway because someone half-fell onto the bar, her hands gripping the edge of the bar to stop the fall. A brow lifted as her crimson gaze watched the woman as she seemed to smile triumphantly, before standing up. Odd, she thought to herself as she watched the woman stand up to order her drink. A shrug was given at this as she finished lifting her mug of ale to her lips to take a greedy mouthful. A sigh of content falling upon her lips as she settled the mug down back on top of the bar counter, making sure to keep a grip upon it. Indeed, she was beginning to feel more at ease with the effects of liquor involved for she had been a little up-tight about trying to lay low, but she was a little worried about clients opening their fat mouths. People talked, they talked way too much for her liking. So far, nothing had come back to bite her in the butt.

She heard the woman address her in a customary greeting and she angled her head slightly to the right as her gaze flickered over the strange woman with the black eyes. They both had eye colours that was most certainly not the norm with humans, it was probably the only thing that they had in common appearance wise and a brow angled upwards at this. She noted the coppery skin and dark hair. She was also dressed in an odd set of clothes. It was made out of material that she was most definitely not familiar with, not that she knew material very well. Or clothes. She would shrug her shoulders as she glanced back to her drink, her free hand pulling her long black coat closer around her being. The nights were beginning to get particularly cool and she didn’t appreciate winter, in fact, it made her sluggish, drowsy and grumpy. Her patience wore thin during winter, however lucky for her, it wasn’t winter just yet, so she wouldn’t be snapping at anyone till then.

"Indeed, it is an evening, but what kind of evening will it turn out to be is the question." A simple smirk fell upon her lips as she moved her gaze back over the crowd. ”Sometimes my nights are fruitful in my endeavours, but not all the time. In fact, most of the time, they are not.” A simple chuckled rose to her lips as she turned upon her stool and leaned back, resting her left elbow back upon the bar counter, while her right hand held the mug of ale. ”I’m not used to the human behaviours, but I have been adapting, slowly to this city and its danger. However, I still do not have a few skills down pat.” Her gaze rolled to view the female that was now to her right, seeing as she had turned upon her stool to watch the rest of the tavern. ”I have to admit, the brawls are fun, but there is more to the nightly activities rather than just brawls.” Her tongue flickered out to slide along her bottom lip, indeed, she was trying to bait the woman. To get information out of her without having to directly ask her the question, how did one seduce the human males in Sunberth?

Her simple greeting appeared to stimulate a long, somewhat philosophical statement from the other woman, and Shakune's eyebrows quirked in mild surprise. Such formal means of speaking were not common the tavern, and the words 'I am not used to the human behaviours' made Shakune observe the other woman carefully.

What have I stumbled onto tonight?

She was certainly... interesting looking, which is what had caught Shakune's attention to begin with. The mundane bored her, and there were endless numbers of brunette, pretty young women with eager eyes and laughing smiles. But this female, with her red eyes and strange ways, was different.

Shakune failed to comprehend the majority of the words that silkily tumbled out of the Dhani's lips, but she definitely understood that final statement. An impish grin pulled on her lips, and she took a deep gulp of her ale.

Nightly activities were her specialty.

"Well, yes. It's fun to punch a stranger, but it's much more fun to fuck one." The lack of elegance to her words personified Shakune perfectly; she was far from graceful, and saw no point in using clever words or metaphors to hide her true meaning or intent. A hand swept over the face of the crowd, her fingertips lingering over a few coated individuals who caught the half-breed's attention. "There's usually a narrow window of opportunity, where a man is drunk enough to be up for some fun, but not too drunk that he can't get it up. You don't want that, hm?" She threw the woman a look to ensure her message had been received, "Luckily, there's plenty to choose from. And--" Another glance, "speaking from experience, the men here like exotic fruit, so t'say. Your eyes will help. And keep that whole 'I don't know how to act human' thing goin'. That'll drive them insane, they'll think you'll be the wildest fuck they'll have." Her fingertips tapped the side of her pint tankard rhythmatically, and Shakune half-turned to the bar to rest her elbow upon its sticky surface. "Unless of course, you like women. In which case I'll be happy to join you in bed after another pint or so." It was a genuine offer, thrown casually into the air as if Shakune had offered the woman nothing more than a scarf to wear in the cold night. She liked the sexual company of both men and women. Having said that, though, nobody was going to distract Shakune from her pint anytime soon.

The ale touched her lips again, after which she spoke again: "Oh, I'm Shakune, by the way."

oocApologies for the delay!
