50th Day of Fall 514 AV
There was nothing like the slow transformation of summer into winter. Wherever she had been in her life, Enthere had always been able to tell the shift of seasons by the whispering winds and pale sky. In Zeltiva, she'd found, the sea was also pale. Reflecting the faded empyrean. The sea fascinated Enthere any day, but the strangeness of the sea entranced her particularly with the changing seasons. How could this autumn sea, that birthed the strange serpent beasts, be the same expanse as the warm summer sea of such few weeks ago? Enthere pondered this as she perched on a jumble of rocks overlooking the beach. She was in her human form, trying to be inconspicuous, but wanting very badly to run out and play in the salty water. She hadn't played in the water for years, and the sea...it was not at all like the glittering streams and deep lakes of her childhood. The sea was....wild and untamed in a loud, boisterous way, defying its very banks with harsh waves.
Slowly Enthere climbed from her perch, slinking nearer to the water. It was still early in the day and there were few people about the beach yet. Especially so far from the docks. It was unlikely anyone would notice a large cat having a quiet romp on the beach....The Kelvic finally ducked out of her clothes, leaving them as a crumpled pile among the rocks. They blended in with their fine covering of dirt and sand. Hopefully she would be able to find them again. Enthere leaped into the froth, changing in one moment from a dirty young woman to a gleeful cougar.
Salt spray soaked her legs and underbelly, occasionally dashing up to wet her face. The cougar charged through the gloriously cold water, frolicking in the shallow waves. The fresh salty tang of the bay no longer assaulted her nose; she had gradually grown used to the strong scents that were companion to the sea. She ran through the wavelets, making large splashes and enjoying herself profusely. It was about a half bell later when she found herself a long ways down the beach. She should go back, actually she should leave the beach. But she hadn't had all her fun yet, and she didn't think anyone had noticed her yet. Besides, a lone cougar on the beach wasn't nearly as strange as Iyvess popping out of the water in numbers. Enthere slowed to a stop, turning away from Zeltiva to head away from port.
