Rubbing at her shoulder she watched him move to the kitchen area to prepare a meal for her. It was a nice change from having to cook for herself. Of course she enjoyed cooking yet she could still find it a bother in times of laziness or tried bones. She could only smile at his clear doubt in his abilities, she guessed he was a fine cook. That only never been told because the lack of guest that he had been missing out on.

The heat from the stove wafted over her, causing her to close her eyes in enjoyment she let it warm her cheeks. She hadn't realized how cold it was and how chilled to the bone she had been until right than. Her cheeks staining a pink while she began the long process of warming her cool body. Her hair need the drying of the stove as well.

Moving her hands up along her head she released the curled and looped braid from her head. Allowing it to fall down her back reaching past her hip to the top of her backside. Moving the braid around she softly began to undo the looped pattern holding her hair in place. Keeping her fingers nimble and smooth through the hair she worked easily.

The ritual movements of her hands leaving her calm while she kept her eyes closed off to him. She felt easy about letting one of her senses go with him around. Somehow she felt protected with him there, a strange sense of togetherness playing on her mind between them. She knew that she would help him in her time of need as he would her; or at least she thought that's what he'd do. Her face held a polite smile that only graced her lips while going through her hair.

She could recall the days when she was little and the elderly people would braid her hair. Saying how lovely and curly it was, chanting over it gossiping how they wished they too could have hair such as she had. Letting her hair fall in the cascade of the lushes curls she opened her eyes again. That was before they'd known the secret her mother wanted to keep; or at least hoped wouldn't effect her daughters life.

John's movements were normal again to her, looking at the plate filled with the meat and fruit she took the silverware that was handed to her. Looking over what he had prepared she couldn't help but smile. It was a little on the rare side but she didn't mind it at all. She liked the taste of rare meat sometimes and tonight was no different.

"It looks good really," she smiled at him with reassurance. Digging in she began to cut her meat taking a bite of it she enjoyed the rich flavor of the juice against her taste buds. It was tender and rich in Vitim that she knew and she also knew that she could accept a home cooked meal anytime. Hearing his question she thought over what she knew how to cook.

Having been left to cook for most of her young life she knew bits and piece of how to make a good meal. Of course she wasn't as good as some might hope her to be, but she did know I thing or two about spices and seasonings. Looking to him she finished her bite before nodding a little.

"Yes, I know a thing or two here and there. Mind you nothing that great but enough to get by. My specialty if I had to say I had one is most likely fish. I'm good at making that, I guess of course that's because it's one of the main things I eat when I travel," she stated simply looking to her plate.

"It's easy to come by plus it helps to keep you on your feet out there," she smiled at him. Letting her knife and fork dip into the soft meat once more enjoying her conversation with him and his made dinner.

"I could help you out but I don't know if I could get you very far," she shrugged her shoulders. Her inky black hair falling over them while she chewed her meat looking around the room for the second time tonight. "You have a nice place, I wish I had one like this." Simple words yet never the more meaningful as her gaze moved back to him carefully.

The meat was more rare then he really did enjoy yet he did not dare voice it over dinner. It felt odd to him to really have dinner with someone that was not his family but he did not feel out of place with her it would seem. He was a bit shocked she let her hair down as he saw just how far it did fall. Maybe it was more then just a sign she was feeling at ease with him?

He only did cook one real meal and that was ruined to the point he had to throw it out. Yet he did learn more of cooking even if he knew basic things like this. Maybe he would learn more during the fall season and maybe he would work more on his own little goals. He had a few about but even he knew he did not push towards them like he should have.

They were talking as if she would be staying and a part of him wanted that for some reason. Maybe he would figure out that part of him in time? He never really felt so at ease with another person but maybe it was a sign of sorts?

"Nah, it's really not mine in the end. Parents and well sooner or later in the next few days I will be moving out it seems. I think I should. They talked to me more of it past few years about they will give me the money to get a place in the castle but...I guess I never have enjoyed the idea of being alone and that is why I never have done it before?"

He thought of what he said as he said it. It would make sense, even now he was with someone and when he could he was around people even if he did not feel like a people person. Was it the fear of being alone? When he worked at the bookstore he knew he was never alone but a few days when it was slow yet books kept him more then enough company and what he said could had been taken into context of them moving someplace but that was insane of a idea as they just met and he was sure she had other plans even if they knew each other longer.

He would had said something else yet he did not even think she would had picked up on that and if she did she would not say anything about it and let it fade into the shadows of the room. So he just kept cutting into the meat eating it slowly.

"I want to teach you more common as you teach me more Pavi. I know I was not in the right mind set and I am sorry for that. Yet next time I promise I will be."

How long would it really take him to learn enough Pavi to write a book? Well it was more of to copy a book yet that took time when he knew what he was writing of. Maybe with learning it and writing it down he would learn it faster? He just needed to learn the print of it before the speech yet it still might take a good part of the season he thought and he doubted she would wait around that long. Or was she wanting to stay for another reason now? So many questions floated around in his mind yet he dared not ask any of them yet. He just had to wait and see what would take place.

For now he was enjoying a nice dinner with her and that is what he thought of. Endless questions could wait for another time and another day. For now it was not the right time to attack her for she could easily attack him with questions that he might not be ready for.

Letting her teeth chew delightful on the meat she listened to him calmly. He seemed almost reluctant about the house, as if he didn't want to leave the dwelling at all. Yet his words seemed to say otherwise, setting her fork down she looked at her empty plate. She wondered whatever happened to her own home. She could remember it fairly well, still she couldn't recall every detail of the home.

She'd left a few things back there that she planed to return for someday, considering the town didn't discard of them in the river. Looking back on it now she was almost sure that none of her stuff was there. Not like the town wanted her back, they'd made that clear when she left those two falls ago. Taking a moment to sigh audibly she bit at the almost finished apple.

Returning her gaze to him she listened of his plans to teach her more common. She only smiled at him letting him talk while she finished up the small yet nice supper. She wasn't sure why but she was comfortable eating with him. It was the first time in a long time where she'd been able to chew and enjoy the food she was consuming; rather than shovel it down in fear of predators lurking about.

She guessed that John could be a predator if he really wanted to be with her. She knew that he must have some kind of hidden defense that he wasn't sharing with her. But for reasons unannounced to her she wasn't nervous to let loose a little. Her hair had been the biggest sign of that trust between them, a trust that had been built so fast.

She never kept her hair down, trouble could strike to soon and her hair could potentially endanger her or worse, cost her, her life. Setting the core of the apple down she smiled again while she looked him over in the new light. She felt relieved in the smallest of ways to others, but it seemed larger to her. She really could breath easy for once, even if it was only for one night; and she thanked him for that.

"It would be great if you taught me more common, I do have a few shaky words," she stated looking at him with a warming and peace filled smile.

[Rearing Stallion] A search for a guide(John)

It was late, later then he really thought as he felt his eyes get heavy yet he could not do much. He was unsure if he was tired due to the fact of running around or his own Djed being used. Even if he only used a small amount it felt like compared to what he could maybe the emotions with his sister pushed him over his thinking edge. Maybe the fact he went up and down on his emotions drained him?

He knew horse would be fine. Yet he did worry of her going back into the cool weather that could turn anytime closer to winter they moved. Even if it was near the start of the fall season the weather was one of the things that could not really be foretold in his few.

"No one will be home for a good while if not longer...Would you care to stay the night here? The free room for the night can be in my sisters room as well we both know she won't be back and I know she would not have taken her bed but everything else. Tomorrow...we can work on other things."

He said at last keeping his face upon hers. The light blue eyes mixing with her light green unsure how she would take his offer. Yet he felt like his offer would not be turned down or at least roughly hoped that. He knew he would need to move soon, within the next ten or so days but somehow that did not bother him as much right now as he kept his look upon her. Maybe he was just to tired to worry or it was something else his brain just was not letting him understand.

With that he stood up, his hands picking up the dishes as he placed them back in the small tiny kitchen. He would deal with them at a later point in time as he looked back at her.

He tilted his head looking at her. Unsure of her answer just yet as he moved about. He would be a bit sad if she did not take the offer but he could understand why if she did not. He moved past her as she spent her time in her own world, his fingers brushing along her hair and back as he moved towards the hallway.

If she did follow him he would show her his sisters room which was right next to his as he pushed his own door open. The dark room felt nice as he once again knew where to move lighting a small lamp near his bed. The room felt empty, more empty then just lack of items upon the walls or windows. The home never had any windows for it was deep in the castle but it still felt empty with just a bed, chest, small broken like desk that could not even be called a desk. A soft sound left his lips as he let the door stay open in case she looked about, his fingers lifting his tunic over his head letting it drop towards the ground as he fell into bed.

His body had more then enough room to grow as the light of the lamp played along his back. His pale skin was paler upon his back and legs where the sun never did touch his body yet he did not mind that for only he knew that as his body slowly fell into a sleep.

So many things he had to ask himself. so many things he wanted to ask yet did not. Not of himself nor her. Maybe he would tomorrow? Yet he had no idea what tomorrow would bring for even today was such a odd day.

Standing with him she let her body stretch out fully needing to hear the relieving crack that often resounded when she stretched. She was glad that she hadn't done anything that would cause him to think her ill mannered. It had been a long time since she ate with another person. Parkas was always good company when it came to supper but at last he was a horse.

Hearing his questions she looked up at him with a face that held nothing but relaxation. She must have been tierd for she didn't even notice him move to where he was standing now. Looking at him she smiled again, this time nodding to him in acceptance. It was the first time she'd made a decision without thinking of the consequences of her actions.

Moving with him she waited to be esscorted into his departed sisters room, looking around he noticed bits and thing that her home did not have. Looking back to him she gave him a soft smile. "Goodnight John, and...thank you," he'd been so nice to her, she never even imagined him ever doing have the things he had today.

Moving to the bed she removed her heavier gear letting her under garments rest against her tan skin while she moved to the bed. It was strange to sleep in a bed that was not hers but she'd been invited by him to stay. So maybe she would sleep at ease with that knowledge in tow. Looking up to the Grey stone ceiling she thought about the day.

What it had brought and why she wasn't acting like her normal self. The one she knew that was overly cautious and gave disregard to others words for fear that they might just turn to lies. Taking a sigh she let a smile meet her lips, closing her eyes she nodded to herself. She indeed and learned a lot today, a day that she thought would be filled with empty hopes and broken wishes. Instead it had been filled with kindness and friendship, and she owed it all to John.
