This forum is an OOC forum for PCS and Organizations to work out plans in hardcopy. Each PC or Organization gets a single thread where their players can help work out plans for their PC. Quests, mini-sagas, and Trips can all be organized here as well working out timelines and points of travel and things PCs need to do along the way. Each PC however gets only one Plotnote for their individual PC. Groups get one as well. There is no limit on individuals posting saga or trip plotnote threads. Please denote [PC Plotnotes] or [Group Plotnotes] or [Quest/Trip/Saga Plotnotes] when titling your threads.

Rhetoric

Level: 9
Competency: Novice
Breakdown: +2, +3, +4

At this level the rhetorician will have a tendency to rely on assertions but can construct simple arguments based on immediate evidence and influenced by personal bias. Rhetoricians will use all evidence they know to construct the premises to their arguments, as opposed to choosing the most pertinent information. They are just beginning to learn how to balance logic and emotion in arguments, usually falling to one side or the other. The rhetorician may not yet recognise classes of rhetorical argument but can intuitively use one or two and occasionally uses fallacious arguments.

Subterfuge

Level: 1
Competency: Novice
Breakdown: +1

At this level, people using subterfuge still have yet to grasp the art, and have difficulty in pulling off deceptions that are believable. Those that they do pull off are often flimsy lies that are easily seen through, and often are reprimanded for their attempt. For those that employ the use of distractions, they have a hard time in getting their target to move where they want them, and even then they are only there for a few moments. Petty thieves are found around this stage, and must possess a good degree of stealth to add onto the distraction if they want to avoid jail time, for their subterfuge will last only moments. As well, people whom tell tall tales to enhance how people think of them are usually found at this level, and are easily seen through by those not inhibited by imbibing alcohol.

Teaching

Level: 3
Competency: Novice
Breakdown: +1, +2

The teacher is capable of explaining things at a slower pace. Key details of the skill or lore may sometimes be overlooked, and can go unmentioned without an engaged student asking clarifying questions. One-on-one instruction is optimal, but the teacher may attempt instructing up to four to six students at one time without much risk of failing utterly. Distractions can prove hazardous to instruction. High interaction between teacher and student greatly increases effectiveness of instruction. The novice teacher may only teach up to two skills, two lores, or one skill and one lore per thread. If teaching of multiple skill(s) and/or lore(s) is attempted, they must directly relate to one another.

Leadership

Level: 3
Competency: Novice
Breakdown: +3

Those just beginning to understand and learn about the art of leadership will understand that anybody can be a leader. You begin by understanding yourself and your own character and realizing that you can influence and motivate others. It is essential that when starting to learn about leadership that you grasp the concept of followership and understand that even when not in a position of power, you can sill influence and motivate those around you, subordinate to you, and even those above you. It is important at this point to note that there are may ways to channel motivation. Providing rewards, pay, or companionship could motivate some while others may require a path making use of fear and intimidation in order to "motivate" their actions. Regardless of the method of motivation, the tool is essential for young leaders to build upon.

At this point, the novice leader should focus on themselves and improving their own values such as integrity, loyalty, having a positive attitude, and using sound judgment while thinking before taking action. The honest and loyal leader, such as Pressorah Bashti of the Eypharians, can win the hearts of those they lead. A good attitude and making sound decisions allows those they lead to understand their leader is a good person with their best interests in mind. As a novice, the easiest way to lead and one of the first things you should do when starting to learn the skill is to lead by example and demonstrate these characteristics. If you want others to do something, lead them by doing it for them or with them and they will be much likely to follow you to accomplish the task or mission.

It is the novice leader who can emerge from a small group of relatively like-minded individuals and create at least a relatively organized team. This person could convince those around them to reach within themselves and execute whatever actions they need to follow a goal of theirs. Some individuals or small groups of people simply need a kick start to get on their way and a novice leader is just the person for that task.

Skill Name

Level: 1
Competency: Novice
Breakdown: +1

Persons of this skill do not necessarily consider themselves acrobats. They are just beginning to grasp how unfamiliar with their bodies they really are, and therefore training at this stage is somewhat dangerous and will more often than not lead to bruises and frustration. Flexibility is slight or nonexistent, and Balance is often compromised by the slightest mistake. Still, they can usually successfully recover from a short fall and tend to have an innate but amateur sense of Agility. Performers are not usually successful at this level, but are capable of handstands, juggling, and other dexterity-based techniques. Combatants tend to only use it for evasion or small flourishes. Freerunners can use vaults to traverse a single plane, but have trouble using walls and heights to their advantage.

Running

Level: 1
Competency: Novice
Breakdown: +1

Novice runners are able to run for maybe a few kilometers when running endurance before becoming exhausted, and can sprint at high speeds for short periods of time. They are beginning to understand different breathing techniques and organize their running so their movements don’t waste as much energy.
