Appearance

If observed in human form, Andar appears to be of average height (5'9") and medium build (145 lbs), with an olive complexion. His shoulder length hair is fine and tawny of hue and this he often keeps tied by leather cord and braided. Exotic amber colored eyes are a telltale sign of his Kelvic nature. Their depths inquisitive but also burn with a feral glint if he is mistreated.

Although Andar could afford a finer wardrobe, he prefers to wear plain garments for one very simple reason: any sort of attention drawing items on one's person will inevitably result in one losing said possession (favorable scenario) or one losing said possession along with his dignity and life (decidedly less favorable outcome). During the harsher season, he shrouds himself in a gray hooded cloak (a present given to him by his mother's bondmate).

In jackal form, Andar closely resembles the Black-backed Jackal species. Though slightly larger than average. He has long ears and legs, a slender body covered in reddish-brown fur (slightly more pronounced on the flanks) and a strip of darker fur mingled with silver that runs from shoulder to bushy tail. Andar is roughly 3 feet long and 33 lbs in jackal form. Those very same amber eyes peer out in rapt attention.

Character Concept

As with all Kelvics, there is a dualism that is integrated seamlessly in the fabrics of their lives. Andar quickly got on-the-job-training at a very young age on how to survive in the streets of Sunberth. He acquitted his superior jackal senses to the tasks they required; sniffing out sustenance, hearing present danger, and more often than you might believe, fleeing the scene like a bat out of hell! In human aspect, Andar honed skills that required nimble fingers and a quick tongue. The meshing of those talents made it a rather natural transition into thievery which was already quite the popular pastime in his neck of the woods. Andar is a capricious sort usually. Often inquisitive when people, places, or things elude his understanding. He is perfectly capable of being down right sly as well.

Character History

The past for Andar, literally went by in a flash. He never knew his father, being raised solely in the caring arms of his mother and her bondmate. His mother's name is Veloria, a rather perceptive huntress with hawkish features to match her animal side. Veloria bonded to a harlot called Jemisa and their combined vigil kept Andar away from the only trouble that really matters in Sunberth - the mortal variety. They nurtured him the very best they could, putting a roof over head and food on the table. Even for the slums, it wasn't such a bad way to grow up.

Andar grew with amazing speed and it wasn't long before he was peeling off the clothes for a boy and donning those befitting a man. From an early age, Andar displayed a great deal of independence. He learned the do's and don'ts of the city and closely observed the activities people pursued to carve out a living.

One people in particular, the Svefra, caught his eye. He would watch them at the docks, in Baroque Bay, bartering the goods they'd brought. What really intrigued him was the large volume of hand gestures and even facial expressions that went along with the rapid fire syllables. After months of observation, he began to converse with them in their own language. Showing off his keen mind and ability to mimic and retain information. After many interesting conversations of sea tales and twice as many haggling bouts he had gained a healthy respect for their culture and people as well as a proficient grasp of their language.

Andar eventually left the 'den' and strode out on his own - a young Kelvic with a vast world to discover, a bondmate to find, and a fortune to steal.
