Ah, rinsing the salmon. That made sense and it was probably something he should have known off the top of his head. He made a little mental note, knowing that there was all sorts of things that could have been lingering on the filets that they had purchased. They had been sitting out in the open air, after all.
He listened intently to her instructions, nodding slowly, blue eyes shimmering with intellect as his lips softly moved and repeated her instructions back to him. He gave his dagger a slow little spin in one hand and then lowered the tip of the knife, studying where it was that she had instructed to cut. He followed her instructions exactly, the sort that was able to learn from hearing how to do it. The fact that she had shown him as well made it easy for him to remember precisely what it was that he was supposed to do. His blade carefully sliced along the fish, cutting it up to the gills. Then there was the cut from the indicated fin to the bone, and then he flipped and repeated the motion. He was extremely slow in his movements but quite precise, blue eyes unblinking and focused.
Once he had finished, he quickly went and grabbed a few hand towels for the two of them, rinsing and wiping off the tip of his cooking dagger. "What next?" He let her completely control the lesson, knowing he was very much the student in this scenario.
He took a moment to look inwards, dipping fingertips within his djed and giving it a soft swirl. He breathed, sucking in the sparkling energy, letting it flow through his veins. He shivered at the sensation, biting his lower lip as he focused on both the fish and the magics that he planned to invoke.
