Hello hello, Alvads!
So, the spring season is coming to a close and with summer fast approaching, I wanted to give you a heads up on what's coming as well as a few reminders:
First of all, if you haven't done your job threads but you'd like to be paid, I'd suggest getting going on those!
Also, I'm going to be changing how moderated threads are handled this coming season, so be on the lookout for that update!
The Womiyu are getting a rework this summer as well, hopefully before spring is over, and there will be events to reflect those changes (though less about the changes and more of just Womiyu involvement in general).
There is going to be a new location with a new slew of NPCs that will be opening up some interesting avenues for character development and creation. They'll be up come spring, so do look forward to that!
I'm also (very slowly) working on a sort of codex like some of the other cities to give people a better resource for navigating the city both OOC and IC. If any of you have specific questions you feel like need answers or are aware of certain things that you struggled with to understand, please feel free to post those things here or PM them to me so I can consider adding them to the write up as well. What I currently am wanting to address: Race relations, "The Day In the Life of an Alvad", magic, jobs, culture, "navigation", the underground, illusions, moderated threads/quests, expectations of a player in Alvadas, the role of the Womiyu, and a few blurbs on specific locations as to how they function and a short list of things that you should strive to stay away from ICly and OOCly.
If anything you think should be in there that doesn't fall under one of those categories (or maybe it does but you really don't want me to overlook it) please let me know! I know Alvadas can be a bit confusing, so I want to try to provide you all with as much guidance as I can.
On a final note, I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with Alvadas' government situation, but I just want to let you know that if you can help it, continue to just sort of ignore that, as that's going to be my next larger development project. It doesn't really fit with the feel of the city, so I'm going to work on better integrating it into something that make (less) sense.
Finally, I'm in the process of writing up the calendar. This season was a bit slow, so I'm not sure if the summer's calender will be quite so intensive. Still, if there's anything you'd like to see happen in the city, I'm happy to take your suggestions into consideration.
