Question about skills...

Postby Shiniri on June 15th, 2015, 3:03 pm

So, I was wondering, can your character possibly learn new skills? For example, say my character has no experience in Swordfighting, but learns that skill in one of my threads. Is that possible? I feel sort of weird asking this, but please reply!

Question about skills...

Postby Fallon on June 15th, 2015, 3:45 pm

Any character can learn new skills, some can be developed naturally as you progress in writing (for example observation and socialisation); some however they would require training in while others (for instance magics and the non-mundane) would require initiations into or possibly even prior research into the skill ICly to be even aware of it. Using learning to use a sword as an example, to begin with they would pick up the sword and begin training it mostly in the form of haphazardly swinging it about across several posts and threads to build up an experience - the other option is finding someone with points in the weapon you wish to learn and have them train you (again over several posts and threads).

Either way, to get good within a skill there is the obvious act of putting hard work and dedication into the training. ;)
