Moxie waved gently to Garland's retreating figure, with a smile. She was ready to become stronger, yes she did not particularly like conflict, but she also did not want to be someone's personal punching bag. Syliras was a wonderful place, filled with such kind and diverse people, but that doesn't mean she would not run into someone not so kind. She knew she could depend on the Knights though, to take care of the thugs who lurked the street, but just in case on the thought of a “what if” she would like to know how to defend herself at the very least!
As she turned to leave, someone came up to her, tapping her shoulder. Moxie jumped a little and turned to see a striking young lady standing before her. She had long golden brown hair, and carried herself with a charm that just drew the Konti in. “I saw you giving that man his fortune, would you mind giving me mind too? the woman asked curiously, intrigued it seemed by something new.
Moxie merely nodded with a soft smile on her face, “I would love to.” she replied to the charismatic woman. The woman smiled back and offered her hands to Moxie, “I am Alessia by the way.” the woman said, looking at Moxie with a nosy air about her. It made Moxie a bit uncomfortable, but she was a little used to the prying eyes of people. Women usually seemed to her, to be gossiping creatures full of curiosity of things new and different. Moxie nodded her head, “Moxie, pleasure to meet. Moxie replied, and went to her work of looking at the woman's palm before her.
Her palm was such an opposite of Garlands. Where as his was rough and calloused, her palm was soft and supple. Moxie traced the various lines on the woman's palm gently, examining the length of the lines, and the angle of the lines and direction.
She traced the Head Line on her palm, noticing how short it was, and how it was separated from her heart line. Denoting to Moxie that this woman had a lust for life and adventure, but was also quick on her feet and able to think fast. This also told Moxie that this woman contained a lot of knowledge inside her head, whether it be about people or a trade she was not sure, but it was clear she absorbed knowledge about something quickly.
Moxie moved to the line under her index finger, this line was also short but curvy at the same time. The line started between her index and middle finger, and ending at her pinky finger. This told Moxie that the woman was driven by passion and desire, a betrayal of the heart was imminent in the woman's life or maybe has already happened. Though love was in her future, it would be full of passion, and she will be able to express her emotions with ease, though it will end in a betrayal of the heart. Moxie flinched a little at the information, she did not like delivering bad news. Although the lines on the palms are riddles, sometimes people take it literally instead of opening their minds to the possibility that it could mean something completely different. Moxie sighed, and continued to trace the lines on the woman's palm.
She traced the woman's life line, or what some call the line of one's destiny. This line always made Moxie a bit nervous, since it revealed a lot about the person. More then what many would think. This line denoted a person's character, possible future events in their life, as well as how they would and are living their life and what changes needed to be made to it. Moxie gathered a small breath as she examined the line on the Lady's palm.
The line began at Alessia's thumb, curving towards the base of her palm, with a few breaks in the line as it traveled to the base of her palm. The line spoke to Moxie as Alessia being a strong individual, who liked to keep herself busy, but also loved to know things about others. She was a curious individual always ready to learn something new about a person, and found interest in making friends. She was full of energy, not easily manipulated, and charismatic. This line showed Moxie that she would soon find a interest in someone, someone different and new, but this would lead to some type of disaster. Perhaps gathering the wrong gossip about the wrong person, Moxie was not sure but it seemed this line was warning her that this person was not to be trusted with personal information. Moxie continued on to the next line that was near the Life line, the fate line.
This line intersected with the Life line, and started at the base of her palm, stretching up towards the middle of her palm, making a small “x” with the intersection. This told Moxie that external forces would soon change this woman's life. This would bring a different adventure into her life, whether that be a literal quest, or just something new that the woman has never experienced before.
This reading intrigued Moxie, and she decided to take it a step further then she did with Garland, and went to the mounts of the woman's palm. She brushed her fingers over the mounts, noticing the texture and height of them.
The mount under her thumb was high and denoted that she was quite influential and had a vague interest in the mundane, as well as being full of vitality. She moved onto the mount under her index finger, it wasn't exactly high nor was it low, somewhere in between, telling Moxie that Alessia was a little self-centered, but also being ambitious in her goals. The next mount under her middle finger, was low and denoted that Alessia was not necessarily irresponsible, but she did seem to be a bit careless at times, and a little disorganized as well. The mount under her ring finger, was slightly high, meaning that she could be a prideful person at times, but can also adapt to social situations well, and was great at communicating with others. The last mount under the little finger was low, meaning that this woman often times spoke too much, sometimes she spoke too much about too many things, things that she probably shouldn't be talking about. Though wealth was in her future due to her great communication ability, once she become more persuasive.
The last mount started underneath the little finger and along the side of the hand, this mount would tell Moxie a little more about her emotions. The mount was well defined and soft, denoting that at times this woman could live inside her own head, compassionate about her goals, and able to talk her way out of hairy situations. She loves freely, though can be guarded around certain types of people. Moxie was almost done with her speculation of the ladie's palm, though she wanted to look at just one more thing before tying it all together for the woman. She flipped her palm over and observed the shapes of her fingernails.
The shapes of someone's nails could tell a lot about a person. The shape, the texture, whether or not they were painted, how long or short they were, it all meant something about the person. The type of person they were. The ladies nails were not painted, the nail itself was medium length, and the shape was slightly rectangular. This told Moxie that Alessia was diplomatic, sensible, but can be easily annoyed if someone bores them, and also can be easily bored if a conversation isn't spiced up with something interesting. It also told Moxie that this woman could be a bit judgmental of people and absolutely loved to gossip. While looking at the nail shape she also took in the length and shape of her fingers. They were elegant and medium length, not too long, not too short, delicate looking and well manicured. This told Moxie that the woman had a rather high libido, which made Moxie blush slightly, sometimes this Palm reading business told her more then she really wanted to know about someone. It also told her that she could be impatient and fragile.
Moxie dropped the palm and looked up into the woman's sparkling eyes, a soft smile on her lips. “Ready to know fortune, Miss Alessia? Moxie asked a twinkle in her eye. She did not like those who wanted to gossip about others, and she was prepared to be a bit mischievous. Though she knew she shouldn't be that way, it was hard to resist her devious fun side. She let it drop and inhaled a deep breath to relax herself, as the woman nodded that she was ready to know what her palm said.
“I must warn...Lines can be riddles...Not always literal...Have to use your head.” Moxie explained in her basic Common tongue, smiling as the woman nodded she understood she continued, hoping the more she speaks Common the better it would be to understand it. She was just happy that people understood what she was saying most of the time, even if it came out a bit weird. Her sentence structure was horrible, and sometimes the way she pronounced words just sounded weird to her own ears.
“You..woman of many know ledges of others. Head full of information about people. You driven by passion, desire, a thirst for knowing what not always need to be knowed of. You be self-centered, at times, not thinking all the timed of other...feelings. Your pride, will rear its head, it will gets in the ways of something. Moxie sighed a bit, and continued on to the next and more important part of what the palm had told her. “Soon..a betrayal of the heart is in future. You will develops a interest.. in someone difference and new.. this will lead you on a type of quest... something you not use to, a change will come from it. But you are good with the talking, and can find yourself from .. difficults.. situation if you learn to be more.. persuasive with your communicating. Judgmental not always good.. don't be quick to judge.. soon you will do this.. and regret it. Moxie explained to the small woman, as the woman looked a little shocked but nodded her head, obviously craving more information. “Gossiping.. will soon lead you to a path.. two paths... one will lead to betrayal of the heart.. much sadness.. the other will lead you to... something new.. full of possibilities. Keep strong.. and remember... open mind and understand.. riddles. Moxie told her customer, and the lady nodded, said her thanks and was on her way. Most people did not stay to ask questions and dig any further into the hows and whys of what Moxie told them. She supposed because the fortune is always vague and never straight to the point, leaving people with so much to think about. Sometimes it made it difficult to make friends because of that, most people preferred blunt individuals. Not only that, but Moxie was confused by the Palms Riddles as much as the answer the customer's received from her. She was still learning how to read Palms, things were not always as clear cut, vague, and always in riddles for her. But she did her best at explaining what she thought she read in the Palm.
Moxie sighed and continued on her way, shaking her head of the fortune she just told, and filled her mind with Garlands instructions of what she should do to strengthen herself, to become better at defending not only herself but those she loved. She let this thoughts consume her as she walked towards her small apartment, ready to rest her tired and aching body.
