With a head turn and a soft closing of the eyes, just enough to peep out from under her lashes, Fire inspected the makeup applied. One of the other girls helped her with the black liner so that the lines were more crisp and clean. The golden and beige powders on her lids she did herself and it had actually turned out pretty decent. Her reflection shone back on her from the wall, it was one of the few times that she actually got to see what she looked like, other than using the reflection off water.

A smoothing of the short damask dress, black slippers were slid on dainty feet. Roaming the back rooms, her steps were unheard against the plush rug on the floor. Pacing was quickly becoming a bad habit of hers when she was indoors for too long without a task. Her last client was of an unusual sort. A stout man with a rotund belly, hair that had started to thin on top and was combed over to hide the shiny skin. He'd given her a decent tip and the job hadn’t been that difficult.

What had his name been? Alfred? Allen? She needed to remember incase he ever came back again. A slim finger tapped against pink lips, eyes cast toward the ceiling in thought. She was pretty sure it had been Alfred. He paid to have her feed him, keep his glass full and quench his thirst. Although she was asked to be in the nude while doing so, it hadn’t been that unpleasant. Maybe he just enjoyed a nice show with his dinner? Who knows.

After the dinner for Alfred, Firenze had gone to the backrooms and refreshed her makeup and washed up, spritzing some of the scented water on that she’d bought in Sunberth. It had a faint smell of powder and flowers and when mingled with her own scent she thought it was quite pleasant. Not too overpowering and not so soft that it wasn’t noticeable.

One of the girls, a redhead with soft pale skin, round in all the places that Firenze wished she had more of, walked by with a silk robe on, her hair was piled on top of her head. “Hey Fire. Not too busy?” She walked over to the mirror that Firenze had just been at and started inspecting her face. “Not right now, no…” A heavy sigh and a glance out the window told her she still had quite a bit of time left before she would call it a day. Eyes turned down to her legs tucked up on the couch, fingers picking gently at the lace on the bottom of her dress.

“Well..” a finger lifted up lashes and then pinched cheeks to make them rosy,”I’ve got a guy waiting, but I’m not finished with this last client…” a turn of the head to the side, Firenze watched the woman fiddle with her looks. “This one I had to even take a break from he just doesn’t want to stop,” a giggle escaped her lips, “If you want the other client you can, I don’t know when I’ll be done.”

She turned with a bit of a flare, a hip cocked to one side, the robe tied tightly at the waist. Fire watched her start to walk back toward the door and to the front of the building. “Hey, wait!” Calling out, she hopped up from the couch she’d been lounging on, “What room is he in?” The redhead turned her head and called over her shoulder, “First hall, third door on the right.”

Golden eyes watched the hips wiggle their way back to work. Smoothing her dress, a check one last time in the mirror, Fire made her way out of the back rooms. Searching for the first hall was easy enough, a count of the doors… one… two… three. A soft inhale, one last check and she knocked softly on the door, waiting for the client to call for her.

Let Me Play You A Song (Baylin)

For most of his adolescent life, Baylin had been a firm believer in altruism. There was an unbelievable amount of potential within each and every living being. Every person deserved help, another chance; because each person had that same ability for good. Most of his life had been devoted to the realization of that belief; then during his formative years he witnessed the brutality of the Myrian race first hand which caused him to lose faith in the world. He questioned everything and became detached emotionally from the world leading him down the path of becoming a scholar of The Void.

When Baylin’s sister witnessed his hermit like nature during a moment of maddening wizardry. She made him promise to seek out companionship in order to anchor himself to reality. It was due to that promise alone why Baylin now found himself at The Touchy Subject.

To say that he stood out like a sore thumb within the structures magnanimous interior would have been a drastic understatement. He entered the building adorned in his dark emerald green kelp armor. Brightly colored mollusks shells decorated his armor, and upon further inspection many of the masked occupants wandering the building, they all notice the shells were actually moving as small snails and clams clung to his armor. He also carried a trident on his back, backpack in one hand, and violin case in the other.

The smell of Incense within the building assaulted his nose upon entrance causing him to sniff at the air out of curiosity. He found himself enjoying the smell considering how the rest of Zeltiva basked in the scent of moldy earth and rancid wet sailors. He glanced towards a young red headed woman and spoke out to her. "I am here seeking a masseuse. Would you mind directing me to one available?" A woman told him that she would help while guiding him to a room where he placed his things down onto a small table by a bed. She then left him to wait in the room.

Baylin stood by the table running his fingers over the wooden violin case, regarding it almost scrutinizingly. For a moment, it seemed as if it didn't belong to him. There were days when all that he needed to do to relax was play music to himself. However, on this day that was not enough.

A knock on the door broke his train of thought. He looked up only because of it. Otherwise he might have stayed there all day. The tips of each long tendril of tentacles that hung from his head wreathed and curled into themselves on instinct as he beckoned the person to enter.

"You are welcomed to enter at any time."

Fire heard the call from behind the wooden door for her to enter. Turning the knob, the door slid open softly. Stepping in she turned and closed the door quietly, “Hello, I’m Firenze, but you can…” she’d turned and spotted the man that she was going to keep company. He was unlike anything that she’d ever seen before. His eyes were a solid green, small spikes that came from his head and his skin appeared slick. He reminded her vaguely of a fish… only a lot taller. His stature was slightly intimidating with the chest piece that he wore. Thankfully she had her heels on so she could look him in the eye. In actuality she was about and inch or two taller than him with the heels on and would be an inch or two shorter without. Swallowing she pushed to finish the conversation and not come off rude, “...call me Fire if you choose. Have you decided how you would like to spend your time today?”

She wondered for a moment if her eyes were wide as she watched the tentacles move around the man’s head. Feeling like she should move closer and help the man become more comfortable she struggled, her feet feeling as though they were rooted to the carpet. Eventually she put one foot in front of the other, her heels muffled by the carpet. Legs appeared to go for days between the short dress and the heels that she wore. Holding a hand out she waited for the man to take hers in introduction.

Glancing down she spotted a case on the side table, an instrument perhaps? She could make conversation with that and hopefully it would help them to both relax. “Did you bring an instrument?” She sat on the edge of the bed near where he stood, her feet tucked up next to the bed and crossed. “What do you play?”

She hoped that she didn't offend him with her first coming in the room, it had startled her to see such a person, never having encountered one before. It took a lot for her to bite her tongue as her curiosity egged her on to ask him what he was exactly. Wanting to kick the redhead for not having told her what the customer had come in for, or what he was. She reminded herself to talk to her later and give her an earful.

Now that she was up closer she could see that his skin was indeed slick, it wasn’t scaly like a fishes but… more like that of the tongue of a clam perhaps? She didn’t know many water creatures, but even she could tell that his body looked as though it were built for it. She paused wondering if he was like a fish and would need water all the time? Should she ask?

Biting her bottom lip, she tossed back and forth on what to do, wondering if she should just take the lead and do what she thought might make him comfortable. Even though she wasn’t sure if he actually needed water, most people loved a good bathing. “How would you feel if we started things off with a nice bath?” She smiled at him. If he wanted the bath then she would get up and start to run the water for him in the clawfoot, asking him how he would like the temperature. If not, then she would try to figure how he would like spend his time and try to go from there.

The tub sat near the hearth to keep those who entered it warm. Running the water into the bath she left it at the temperature in which it came out of the tap, not warming it on the fire. Turning toward the darkened hearth she bent and grabbed some of the shavings shaping it into a little bowl and grabbed the flint and steel sitting next to the basket. Sliding a few small twigs from the basket under the bowl and then scraped some flint into the makeshift nest. Flipping the flint over she struck the steel against the surface. A few sparks flew out and she waited until one finally caught the bed on fire and began to smoke. Carefully she leaned forward, a few of the excess twigs in her hand.

Smoke rolled and a soft glow crept along the shavings so she carefully blew on it trying to get it to catch to a flame so she could put the twigs on it without the fire going out. A few chimes past and it finally caught, lying the twig on top of the pile she waited until the dried bark had flames licking on it before she slowly started adding more pieces. Once it started to get a nice pop and crack, the flames not seeming like they would smother out she added bigger pieces of wood gradually. Finally she stepped back after placing a nice sized log on, a smile on her face.

Golden eyes watched as water sloshed around his body in the bath, she was grateful that he’d gotten in while she’d been fixing the fire. The crackle, pop and soft glow from the hearth helped to brighten the room and give it a more relaxing ambience. Before she began to work on him she grabbed a stick and held it in the fire until it lit. Cupping her hand around it she moved to the candles placed around the room, lighting them.

With a flick of the wrist she tossed the stick into the hearth, heels clacking on the floor and then pushing into plush carpet near the bath. She smiled to the man, wondering if soap would bother his skin or not. Foregoing the soap, not sure if it would irritate his soft flesh and not wanting to find out, she scooped up the cool water and ran it over his neck and back.

She lightly touched his skin at the base of his neck, the feeling that almost how she would have expected, slightly rubbery and as though it were a fish without scales. It was definitely unusual and a feeling like she’d not experienced before. She tried to keep her facial expressions passive and neutral so not to upset him or make him feel uncomfortable.

Delicate fingers pressed into the skin and her fingertips rubbed lightly on the place where his neck met his shoulders. She’d not given anyone a professional massage, only having gently rubbed the back of a partner or someone she was flirting with. This was going to be a learning experience. Unsure of which direction she was supposed to rub she decided that working on loosening him up and relaxing would be the best bet.

Her fingers danced lightly across his skin, moving from his shoulders, brushing his tentacles to the side to get to his neck. The deltoid of the man was very large, unlike that of partners in the past that she’d met. Pressing hard she moved her thumb in circles along the muscle towards his spine until she’d felt a spot that felt as though there might be a small rock under the surface. It felt as though the muscles had knotted in the particular spot just along the edge of his spine. Pressing her thumb into she slid it up towards the base of his neck and repeated the process a few times. Going back to the spot, bending her thumb at the knuckle she used the crook to press a little harder, rubbing in circles.

It felt as though he’d shifted and was moving slightly away from her so she apologized, used her other hand to swipe a loose hair from her face and lightened the pressure with which she was applying to his muscles. “I’m sorry if that hurts, if it bothers you please let me know.” She smiled while speaking trying to convey pleasantness despite him not being able to see her face.

Once it began to feel as though the knot was starting to work itself out she laid her palms against his back and started to work the heel of her hand in. She used the force of her heel to move him forward slightly in the tub so that she could work lower on his body. Dipping her hand into the water and gathering moisture she rinsed his back and then began working her hands again. Moving from the middle and pressing upward along his spine to the base of his neck and then running her full palm up and around his neck and along his jaw, careful to keep a lighter touch.

Once her hands touched at the front of his jaw she ran her hands down along the bottom of his chin and on the front of his neck and toward the back of his neck and back down. Instead of following the line of his spine on the descent she moved toward the outside on his laterals. When she reached the waterline she kept her hands flat along his skin and brought her hands back together so that her forefingers and thumbs were making a diamond pattern.

Pressing into him she used her fingertips as she moved upward to rub along the length of his spine. When she got to the top of his neck to moved her hands, finger splayed, as she moved back around his neck and along the bottom of his jaw again.

As she worked she wondered what the girls might be thinking about her being in here with him. Had the done this on purpose? It didn’t really matter much to her if they did. It was her job and she was going to do it, no matter the race… right? It wasn’t as bad as she thought it would be. Her thumbs pressed into his shoulder blade and slid outwards to his shoulder as she pondered. Moving over to the other side she let her mind wander a little.

One of the tentacles from his head fell on her arm as she worked along the outside of his arm, squeezing the muscles. Her four fingers together as she moved them toward her palm, her thumb sticking out. Working from his elbow up to the socket of his shoulder, along his deltoid and into the side of his neck. Once at the top of his neck on the right side she moved to the crook of his arm on the left and repeated the same process.

Once she’d finished she stood and gathered up a towel from the back of a nearby chair. Holding it up for him she proceeded to wrap it around him and then turned to gather his clothes from the bed. Smoothing out the pants and laying the socks on the bed, arranging his boots neatly in front of the area where his pants were spread on top of the covers. Neatly she arranged all the clothing out for him smoothing out everything the best she could with her hands.

Standing near the end post, her feet together and her figure poise, “I hope you enjoyed yourself,” she gave him a smile, the corner of her mouth turning up, “if you ever are around and would like some more company please feel free to stop by.” She wasn’t sure if she was supposed to shake his hand, give him a hug or not touch him, so instead she clasped her hands in front of her dress. Trying not to show her awkwardness she gave him another smile, this time flashing teeth, “you can ask for me if you’d like, my name is Firenze.”
