Fire had been sitting in the chair in the cottage, not even bothering with changing out of her nightgown because the temperature had peaked early and the breeze coming off the water didn’t even seem to do anything further into town. A trickle of sweat rolled down her temple and that gave her the edge to find something to do to cool down, not wanting to sit around and be miserable all day.

Standing up she moved to the window hoping to find some small amount of wind, it was so gentle that she could barely even feel it move the heat away from her skin. Grabbing her hair and pulling it to the side she turned her head, wanting the breeze on her neck. “Pulren, I gotta get out of here, it is way too hot. We should do something fun…” Her other hand fanned her face.

Closing her eyes, she tried to imagine things that might cool her down and the first thing that came to mind was the water in the bay. Wasn’t it usually chilly? Playing around in water sounded absolutely amazing at the moment. Images of water lapping against the docks came to mind, she pretended that the legs on them were her own instead.

Peeping her eyes back open she realized that instead of standing inside hoping to catch a breeze pretending to be in the water, she should actually go be in the water! What better way to have fun while doing that than with other people? The plan started to take shape in her mind and she hurried over to begin getting dressed.

Coming up short she realized she didn’t have any way to get the message out to anyone that she was inviting them to...what? A get together? A party? She did have the ale that she used to cook with that needed drank… She was going down to the beach, so... A beach party!!

Glancing over she gave her biggest grin to Pulren, she knew that out of anyone that would want to play in the water with her it would be him, he liked the water just as much as she did. If she could talk him into going with her maybe he would be kind enough to write out flyers? Fire decided to ask, “Hey, Pulren… so I have an idea. Tell me what you think?”

Flopping down in the chair next to the bed, grin still plastered on her face, she shot out her plans, “What do you think about taking the ale down to the beach just past the docks and having a party? Maybe go for a swim?”

Whatta Beach!

Pulren had measured out the fifty feet of rope into five increments of ten, tying the knots at each mark before tying one end to the anchor. Soon Syna's harsh glares would cool and calm, making his dives easier and not as strenuous, so the time to construct the diving platform was near. Besides that, Firenze, sitting in her nightgown as it nearly completely clung to her sweat soaked body was just too much for Pulren.

Her suggestion of a fun activity the two of them could do together just about pushed him over the edge. He didn't need to look at her to know what she looked like. He could imagine what she smelled like or even...He shook his head to try to shake the thoughts out of his head, righting the barrel and walking inside the cottage. Fortunately she was up and about, seemingly very excited about something that only Firenze would know. Her usual mode of thinking rather than speaking was in full effect. When she told him she had an idea, he put his hands on his hips, trying desperately not to devour her with his eyes.

"I'm all ears."

When she told him her idea, it sounded like a fine one. Cool off, have a good time and some drinks, cool off. Did he mention cooling off? Smiling and nodding, he replied, "Sounds like a great idea. Let's go for it. I could definitely use the relief from this heat." Internal and external.

Whatta Beach!

He seemed as excited about the trip as she did, so it was set! The only thing she needed was to get changed and stick some flyers up on their way down! Pulling the chest open she rummaged through her things, pottery clinking softly as she dug for her suit and towel. She threw the top on her bed as she continued to look, “Okay so, how would you feel about maybe making up some flyers? I… uh I’m not very good at writing,” she laughed on the inside because the only writing she’d ever done was a scribble to try to depict steeping tea.

The bottoms to the suit followed the top onto the bed, “I thought it might be nice to put up a few flyers on our way down so people could join us,” her head tipped to the side and looked at him, giving him a smile, eyes roved over the sweat that rolled down his skin. Clearing her throat a little she went back to the task at hand.

“We could bring that cask of ale that was leftover from when I tried to bake the cake,” she cringed a little at the thought of her attempt at cooking. “I think it’d be a shame to go to waste and I think it would be light enough we could carry down? What do you think?” Towel plucked from the trunk she set to getting changed into her suit, shimming the bottoms up under her gown, tying off the side strings.

Top went on next, sliding it under the dress and tying the top at her neck. Afterwards, the gown went on the wall next to the bed to hang. Tossing the towel over her shoulders she slipped on her sandals. Turning to give him a bit of privacy, she waited for Pulren to get changed.

Pausing for a moment she wondered if she should walk through town with just her suit on. It probably wouldn’t be the best idea and people might find it a bit odd. Reaching over she grabbed the white silk dress from next to her bed and slipped it over her head. She could take it off once they got to the beach area so it wouldn’t become ruined.

Once he was finished Fire turned and set out some sheets for him to write on, “I think we should just put something along the lines of… Come cool off at the beach, located east of the end of the docks just past the Ancient Quarter...um… should we have them bring their own drinks or do you think this would be enough?” She patted the cask on the table next to her, a soft thud coming from the wood.

Wiping her brow, she threw her wild hair up and tied it off to get it off her neck. Grabbing one of the sheets that he finished she waved it to dry the ink and then inspected the squiggles that he made, pretending that she actually knew what it said. “Looks good enough for me,” smiling she rolled it up.

After the flyers were complete, she tucked all of them neatly together and locked the door behind the pair. As they made their way through the Old Quarter and toward the Ancient Quarter she stopped every so often and stuck a flyer up or gave one to a shopkeeper to put up in their store. She wasn’t sure if anyone would see them, if they did then the more the merrier… if not, then she wouldn’t mind spending alone time in the water with Pulren.

Once they reached the rocky sand, the heat of it rising around the bottoms of her sandals, she went to a shaded area provided by the dock and laid her towel out on the sand. It wasn’t large but it was big enough for both of them to at least have their rears on. She plunked herself down on top of it and slipped her sandals off. Sand squished between her toes as she placed her feet on the ground, the sand was even hot in the shade, but just barely bearable.

She looked over to Pulren and grinned, eyes squinted slightly against the bright sun, a hand over her brow, “Tell me this wasn’t a good idea?!”

NoteI kind of ran through things to get us down to the location of the party. Let me know if you need me to alter anything. :)

Whatta Beach!

Talya didn't have to work until later, which meant that all she had to do now was endure the heat. It amazed her, how uncomfortably sticky the air could become around the port city of Zeltiva, despite the fact that it was situated upon a bay, and the fact that a cool breeze could almost always be felt wandering in from its center. She felt disgusting now, as she sat in her room, with nothing more than her underwear on, lying on her bed as sweat beaded her brow and trickled down the sides of her face. Her hair glossy with dampened beads. She didn't want to do anything she found. Simply lie there, and never move until it ended. But that was such a waste of time. A colossal waste really- as she could be doing a number of things- like studying in the library, or practicing her magic, if not the way in which she wielded a dagger. She could be cooking, or she could head into work early, or something, anything really, but it was way to freakin' hot, so she stayed inside. But she couldn't stand it- she was bored, and needed something to do, so she decided she would do something. But just what wasn't clear... but it was so hot. She needed a way to cool down, a way to think straight, and that's when it struck her- she would head to the beach for a little swim.

Languidly, the Ethaefal rolled off her bed, and reached for her dress. She pulled it on, and then walked out the door. She headed through the city toward the bay, and arrived a few minutes later. When she was there, she walked directly across the hot sand; not caring much as the grains seeped through her toes, and spilled out over the top of her foot, burning her, as she knew she would experience ever so sweet relief soon enough. She moved a little faster, and ripped off her dress before heading into the water. The waves crashing around her ankles; bubbling into foam. She listened to it pop as she stepped a little deeper, letting the water slosh all around her. Splash, as she kicked several liters into the air, and crept deeper and deeper, until she was up to her waist in water that lapped angrily around her. The moisture forming cool beads against her skin as finally, she held her breath and ducked under. Letting her legs crumble until she was completely submerged, and then let herself back up for air. She gasped for it; reveling in it as water spilled down the entirety of her face, and fell from her hair; which was now logged, and clung angrily to her back.

Talya smiled as she stepped further into the bay, following the trail the sun's golden light left over the surface of the water. When only her head stuck out, she kicked up off the sandy bottom, and raised her body a little higher, before tipping it forward and setting her face in the water. She choked on a few bubbles, before she turned it to the right, and gasped air. Coughing as she began to kick her legs above the surface of the water, and move her hands in a wind-mill like fashion. She moved forward slowly; the waves rocking her as she continued to cough for another few minutes; her throat aching as she cleared it out, and then finally, dipped her head under again, before turning it to the left a few seconds later as she continued to paddle and paddle for several minutes. When her arms and legs began to ache, and she had shivered a good few times, she straightened herself out and walked back to the shore and the space she had dumped her dress. But she didn't want to put it on just yet- she wanted to have the chance to dry off a little, so she sat on the wet sand by the shoreline. She let wave after wave crash into her, bubble after frothy bubble pop all around her. The sun beat down upon her and begin to dry her off, and warm her, although the breaking waves kept her cool.

Talya just watched the water for several minutes, and waited for herself to dry off, (or mostly dry off), but the process didn't go by fast enough, and she grew impatient. So, she decided to help everything along with the help of her magic. She began by concentrating on her djed, feeling its tingling, latent power course through her body. She pictured it pooling in her hands, beneath the tips of her fingers, before forcing it to flow outward, over the surface of her right hand. She let it gather above her palm- a clear gas known as res, for several seconds, until her hand felt as though it had fallen asleep. By then, she had produced a gaseous sheet, about five inches high, and another inch thick. From there, Talya raised her palm, so that it was tilted toward her body, and then guided her hand a little closer as she began drawing air from the outside world into the res structure. The process took a few minutes, and left the structure full, with a res layer on the outside. She smiled, as she flicked it toward herself, and felt the cooling effects of the air. Some of the beads falling from her skin as it crashed into her, and then flowed around the obstacle she had created, and away.

Talya still felt water trickle down her body, so she repeated this process a few times, until she felt as though she and the sun had gotten to most of it. Smiling to herself, she lifted her body out of the water at the edge of the wet sand, and brought herself entirely to her feet. She straightened herself out, and brushed wet sand, and some more water from her legs. Then, she grabbed her dress and put it back on. She was happy no one seemed to be around to see her naked. Smiling radiantly, she began to head up the beach toward the docks; kicking both sand and shell as she did so. She reached the docks a few minutes later, and began to follow their length, until she found two people camped out underneath. She recognized both. "Hey Fire! Hey Pulren!" she said as her smile widened, and water continued to drip from the ends of her hair onto her back, wetting her dress, so that it clung to her skin. "Mind if I join you two under there? Or is there not enough room?" she asked, with a small giggle.

OOCWorst... post... ever!

Sorry guys :/
