"I'm glad to know that we'll see more of each other," Leur replied happily. "Having a friend there will be reassuring."
Just then, the girl from earlier ran into a couple of people, causing a huge commotion. Leur instantly felt sorry for the girl, knowing that it must be very embarrassing. Finding the whole scene play out was painful for Leur, feeling embarrassed for the girl, so he looked down at the table in front of him. Corum then got up and offered the girl kind words, and a seat at their table.

The girl sat down awkwardly. This is turning out to be a very interesting day. Leur thought to himself. He watched as Corum and the girl conversed, only listening.
Leur had noticed that another woman had walked in, but he didn't pay any attention, only very briefly glancing at her as she headed to a table.

A slight laugh came from under Corum’s hood. It was amusing to him, the annoyance in her voice. Once she had said her words and asked her question, he thought about it for a few moments. She seemed as though she was not able to harm him, perhaps not even best this body in a physical struggle. This person had been a fighter in life, though, and was of a strong build. Corum’s body was about ready to give out at the time, even before the lad this body came from struck him. It was a matter of hours before he stumbled home and Corum silently followed. Once he slept, the drunk did not even awaken as Corum thrust his blade into the poor boy’s heart. The wound was then sewed up and the full body embalmed before he took it. It was a day before he moved, his clothes and possessions with him, leaving the mostly rotted corpse in a shallow grave.

“ I am human... for the moment. Perhaps i wont be next time i change forms, but this one should last a while... In simple terms, i am one of the younger Nuit. What, my friend, are you?” Fear and anger seemed to show on her face more often then anything else. By her manner, she did not seem human. Quite the gathering of non-humans all in one place, he joked to himself. Until the other one who had been watching them presented a problem, he gave her little thought. He did, however, glance at her from under the side of his hood now and then. The way it was shaped, while he bent his head to hide his face, his view was only obstructed in the front. He trusted the fish man, but carefully place himself to where he was between the two girls, watching them both from his sides. His hands lay in his lap and his feet were planted as to alow him swift, sudden movement if any of the two meant harm, his shoulders tense as to reach for his dagger at a moment’s notice.

Leur took a sip of his water. It felt wonderful going down his esophagus, cool and crisp, even though it wasn't the best tasting water. I guess he's going to tell her he's a Nuit, too? he wondered to himself. He looked at the girl with curious eyes. Hmm, doesn't seem she's human either--her face is too...feral.

His thoughts averted back to the woman that had entered earlier. The thought suddenly struck him. Her hair was blonde... He turned around, and tears instantly welled in his eyes.

It was Laoi.

The young Konti continued to watch out of an interest that was becoming more than passing. As the cloaked man turned his face cautiously for a brief second, she caught a glimpse of pale flesh that had an inhuman feel to it.

Nuit. She recognized the magical undead race. She touched the mark gifted to her by Avalis as a nod to the goddess. She had never encountered a Nuit, so she knew little of what to expect of his nature. She felt that he was nervous, but this was expected for anyone of his race in a predominantly human town. From her position in the bar filled with the jovial gossip of the rowdy patrons, she could hear little of the conversation of the table across the room, but her Gnosis could pick up on the general mood of the individuals.

Carefully, she waited for any further hints as what was going on. Then the merman and she looked across the room at the same moment, and their eyes met. She recognized her Charoda companion immediately.

Leur? The name of her traveling buddy ghosted across her mind.

What a strange answer, Iris thought to herself as the man explained to her that he was a nuit, whatever that was. She wasn't quite sure, not having met one before, or at least, she was pretty sure she'd never met one in her short life.

Iris eyed the large glass of water on the table, it must be for the fish man. Strange, she thought to herself, as far as she knew fish needed water to live, shouldn't this guy be dead? she thought to herself as she gave him a quick glance, just to verify the slow rise and fall of his chest, the slight movement of his garments as he continued to breath, something. Yup, he was definitely still breathing, somehow.

Turning back to the nuit, who had asked her what she was, referring to her as a friend, which she had to admit, unnerved her far more than she'd like, Iris contemplated how to answer. Should she tell him she was a kelvic, or would that simply do more harm than good? Or should she lie? Would he be able to tell if she was lying? Nervous, Iris bit her bottom lip.

Well, it'll be alright if it's half true right? I mean, technically, she was kind of human, right? Or she could be kind of mean about it, after all, if he was so much older than her, which just about everyone in this world seemed to be, shouldn't he know?

After taking what seemed to be forever, she finally said, "I'm just a girl," which, seemed to surprise her more than she cared to let on.

He heard the soft sound of movement in front of him. Raising his head slightly, a bit of black hair falling from the tight braid he kept knotted behind his head, he looked at his friend. His attentions seemed drawn at the girl that had been watching them. “ Are you well, my friend? You have been silent for some time...” His eyes moved to the girl sitting right next to him, as his looking in front of him had moved the hood from his face. His bright green eyes looked directly into hers for a moment before he once again lowered his head, reaching a pale hand to pull the hood of his scarlet robe a bit lower then it would naturally fall. He was not used to being so close to people. He hoped this didn’t turn out badly. Another body as good as this one was slightly hard to find.

The girl had said little other then that she was a girl. That much was plain. Deciding not to press further, he would try to be polite. It seemed she did not understand him, by the expression on her face. He decided to be blunt. " I am dead."

Leur got up immediately, still wondering if his mind was playing tricks on him. When Corum asked if he was all right, he said, "Yes, I'm fine. I'll be right back, okay?" And with that, he headed towards Laoi's table.
Her dark eyes met his. A rush of memories flooded through Leur. He couldn't believe that it was her. He had only come to Zeltiva on a whim, putting his trust in a simple rumor that he overheard. And his wish was actually granted--he found Laoi.
"Laoi..?"

“Leur, it is you, friend,” Laoi eyes lit up. The time that had passed since they last met was magnified upon their unexpected reunion. She hardly knew what to say, so she just embraced him briefly then took a step back, still smiling slightly.

“What brings you to Zeltiva?" Laoi asked. Then she added laughingly, "You’ve stirred the whole town.”

Iris looked up from her hands when the man said that he was dead. How on earth could that be? He was breathing wasn't he? She could hear the heavy intake of his breath, and how he let it out. Iris could see his chest rising and falling despite the weight of his garments. She could hear him speaking to her, she could see his lips moving to form words. This man, this nuit, was certainly not dead, at least by her standards. Well, by just about anyone's standard's, she thought, this man would be considered rather, well, alive, despite the fact that he gave off a rather creepy vibe. This man was not dead.

"Well if you're dead, than I'm a killer rabbit," she said sarcastically, as she ran her fingers through her long blonde hair nervously, and shifted her gaze to the fish man, who for some reason, seemed far more inviting and fun to be around than the nuit. Iris stared as the fish man, got up, excusing himself from the table. Great, she thought to herself, he was the normal one. Iris crossed her arms over her chest and watched as he walked over to the blonde woman at the other end of the tavern.

This just keeps getting worse and worse she thought- first I decide to spy on some people and get caught, I run into a bar maid and spill stuff all over the floor, and now I'm left here with this creepy guy who is way older than me! Lovely, she thought as she dared herself to lock eyes with his once mores, praying that he'd be the first to look away.

"Well, I heard that a Konti was in Zeltiva when I was traveling along the coast a few days ago, and I had to come right away," explained Leur. "It was just a whim, but I had a feeling it would be you. Fate has smiled upon us," he said.
"I'm also here to further my study in Spiritism. So what are you doing here, Laoi?"

Meeting his old friend here warmed Leur's heart. It was odd circumstances, but he didn't care. Leur and Laoi met at a time when Leur was the most lonely. She comforted him, and made him feel safe and loved again. She was one of the few people who showed him pure kindness since he had left Charbosi. She did not stare at him like the others, she did not gawk. She was a true friend.
