Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

Skyard could only hope that she did not attempt to do anything drastic. He did not want to turn the Tavern a place of enjoyment and alcoholic beverages into a bloodbath. He could imagine a multitude of blue bodies dangling from the ceilings, and the stench of iron in the air from the blood. Skyard thought about how quickly such a good situation could become twisted and horrible. Skyard licked his lips slowly, but steadily; he anticipated what she would do next. He could only brace himself and hope that he would not lose all control that he had. Skyard could feel the presence of multiple men, not only around himself but surrounding Kaie as well. The unease became anxiousness; Skyard felt as if he was unsafe.

His eyes darted from left to right and he wanted to observe everything in the room all at once. Despite the fact that he knew this was part of her test he became nervous. She told him that she loved him, or rather that she felt like she did. Skyards tension eased, but the moment she broke away from him he found himself alone in a room filled with strangers. He could practically smell each and every individual stench from all of them. The Lion genuinely feared people who were ignorant to warning; which always came before destruction. Kaie was one of those people, but Skyard understood because she had never experienced how strong a bond was before.

Skyard said a soft prayer to Wysar for strength and self control. He could hear a multitude of conversations that occurred all at once. The pitter-patter of feet, and the tapping of glass as they collided with one another. He could even hear distant yelling in preparation for some sort of celebration. However, one particular conversation caught his ear; he overheard something called a “toast”. What was a toast? Skyard had never heard the term before a day in his life, until the Akalak spoke to the other “ A toast in honor of my financial uplift.” A toast was indeed a celebration of good fortune. Skyard had learned something he had not known before; yet, in the back of his mind he felt as if Kaie stood right next to him again.

Suddenly he saw as one particular Akalak strolled across the room, and made a beeline for Kaie. He swiftly went from prey to ferocious predator. He set his eyes upon the male, and his entire expression changed. Everything in an instant went from being bright, energetic and happy to ferocious, feral and furious. Skyard felt his body temperature increase, and knew that his pale white flesh began to darken with a tint of red. His jaw clenched and he turned about in order to prove to her that he did not have to see what she had done in order to know. Skyard only hoped that she would learn her lesson without him having to harm anyone tonight.

The of the perks of her people's belligerent stigma was the tendency for others to steer clear of the scantily clothed woman. In accordance to childhood tales of the bloodthirsty savages that whisked away misbehaving children, adults far too old to believe in fairy tales innately saw her as an outsider unworthy of trust. Though the reputation of Myrians abroad did not always merit respect, it usually allowed her space in times she did not feel like being disturbed while she nursed her drink. Her eyes continued to settle on her bondmate. What's his plan? What shall he show me?

While she waited she briefly convinced herself to close her eyes. It was uncomfortable to lack vision in the world around her, but as she had conveyed to Skyard, it was time to explore what now laid within and between. It was nearly impossible to drown out the sounds of the crowd in the tavern. Exuberant mugs banged together and sloshed all onto the floor. Glasses delicately clinked with an elitist tone. Men shouted to speak over and contribute to the growing noise while women giggled at poorly delivered jokes. Yet, despite those breaks to her focus, she could feel Skyard. Kaie could feel the nervousness coexisting beside her own excitement, a nervousness that suddenly turned to sour displeasure.

The Myrian opened her eyes immediately with furrowed brow. Her gaze searched to find Skyard through the crowd, finding herself greeted by a tense jaw and a hatred burning in blue eyes. His stare did not seek to freeze her out though. Instead they were hardening upon a dull purple Akalak man roaming her way. He wasn't the tallest for his kind, but seemed to make up for his lack of stature with swollen muscles and forced charm. A lakan hung proudly upon his hip. Skyard swiftly turned his back, and though the Myrian was content to handle herself, she couldn't help but wonder why.

"Hey, baby, ever been with a man who knows how to wield his sword?" the stocky bachelor slurred with thick, Tukant-accented Common. The Myrian slowly pried her eyes from the Kelvic to rest her gaze upon his features. The button-down shirt the Akalak wore hung wide open. This petchin' guy... She arched a slender brow at the man with an unimpressed stare. A hand patted the gladius resting peacefully upon her hip. "I've moved on from the shorter variety. Take your skills elsewhere," Kaie voiced bluntly with another sip from her skin. Nothing like getting hit on by a generate of a race. The Akalak, though visibly wounded for a few ticks, ran his pink tongue along his deep-colored lips.

"You bite back. I've never had that in a woman," he purred with drunken breath, daring to run the back of his hand along her cheek with a slow, tender touch. He began to gradually lean in and she spied the hunger taking over his stare. The Myrian quickly found the cap to her drink and screwed it on.

There was opportunity in that moment as it began to arrive. The Myrian had a few choices. The obvious was the one that ended with the Akalak in a bloody heap, which would probably not be greeted kindly by the citizens of Riverfall. It was a bold move for a Myrian to make in the city, and she wasn't aiming to be thrown out on her ass for inciting a bar fight over pride. Yet there was still so much of the bond she didn't understand. It would be easy to put Skyard's warning to the test. She could take the Akalak right there where she sat, teasing and bringing drunk fantasies to fruition if she so chose. It would be easy.

Kaie dropped the wine skin, feeling the strap around her body tighten as its free-fall halted and it suspended at her side. With a single, subtle swing of her fist she connected with the most tender outer organs the Akalak had to show. The dull purple man buckled with a sharp exhale, catching himself on the bar counter that still supported Kaie's back. No one seemed to notice the small display of warranted aggression, for no one rushed to the man's side to defend his honor. "There's plenty of breeders in your city. Bother one of them," she growled toward the man.

Whether it was the power of the bond that drove her decision or her genuine affections for the Kelvic, she could not capitalize on the moment. The very idea of entertaining the man's desires disgusted her despite average features. She'd angered Ardea and was greeted swiftly with a full-grown tiger. If the same were to happen to Skyard, she would be leading to him exposing himself to the world without real desire to do so. Though she had seemed to have gathered this lesson on her own, it seemed to be clear that no ordinary suitor would replace her bondmate.

Skyard could no longer control himself; as he felt the disgusting sensation of a males hand run along his visage. He knew that the Akalak made first contact with a woman, His woman. His eyes snapped open instantaneously, and he turned around so swiftly that it would appear as if he never turned his back. Skyards vision blurred slightly, and he reached upward with his right hand in order to activate his evantia aura. Although he could not possibly keep track of so many targets all at once; he could see what was clearly a woman striking a man. He fell back, and he watched each and every action almost as if it occurred in slow-motion. He watched over, and over again until he decided to make his move. Skyards blood boiled, and his predatory instinct took over; he could no longer fight them. The white of his eye had swiftly been overtaken with elongated veins, and it too gathered a crimson tint. His eyes were so bloodshot that it appeared as if he'd destroyed blood-vessels with sheer anger.

Heavy, compulsive breaths began to repeat themselves. He could practically feel the man attempting to make a move on Kaie. He felt as if his very soul erupted into flames, and finally; he snapped. As if a trigger-mechanism had gone off in his head he concentrated for a moment, and felt djed gather in his legs. Lactic acid accumulated in his muscles to the point of where each and every movement burned and stung. He slowly, but steadily paced forward and tried to calculate the distance between himself and the other Akalak. The movement of his feet against the floor were so loud that they silenced the Tavern. The other Akalaks looked on in shock due to the fact that such a slender man could take such hard steps. Each and every one of his steps echoed through the vicinity.

“The day that the tides run red with blood, and the sands become Shattered Skulls is the day that I will run. I will not turn away from battle, even if it means to lose my life I will not cower. I will not quake with fear, I will not hide. I will shatter the crowns of those who dare to call themselves kings, and drown them within the eternal oceans of Death!”
Skyard exclaimed at the top of his lungs through the silence of the bar.

After he concluded his brief speech he leaped over two Akalaks due to the amount of djed he concentrated in his legs, and attempted to throw a punch simultaneously. His left arm led the charge, and as he soared through the air toward his target his right fist balled. His right arm trailed behind him, and he concentrated all of the djed he felt comfortable using in his right biceps and triceps. He did not expect the punch to connect with his opponents cranium, but it indeed did despite the fact that it was an unintended target. The man that approached Kaie mere moments ago had been stricken so hard that the sound could be compared to a clap of thunder.

Although the punch resulted in what felt like several fractures within the bone structure of Skyards hand he watched his target drop to the ground. Skyard felt a searing pain through the entirety of his right arm; as if he had thrown his arm into a furnace and left it to cook. Skyard knew he had to have torn several muscles. His shoulder blade, his collar bone, his forearm, and everything else in between hurt. Skyard was surprised that he himself didn't collapse, however due to the large amount of adrenaline that coursed through his veins he hardly felt the full effect of what he had just done.

Skyard landed atop the Akalak with his left palm atop the mans shirtless chest. He looked down at the wooden floors of the Tavern. Only to look up at Kaie again, and his eyes told a tale of regret; it looked as if Skyard wanted to Cry and taunt her simultaneously. He had given her the warning as to what would happen if she did this, but she would not listen. Although she rejected the Akalak, the moment he made contact with her he lost his mind.

“Master, I warned you about the consequences. Now this poor man is injured, although he got what he deserved.” Skyard spoke softly as he stood atop the unconscious man and walked off of his body. He swiftly approached Kaie, and wrapped his arms around her waist only to lock eyes with her. If she felt the flesh of his arm she would feel an incredible amount of heat coming off of his skin from the injuries as a result of the flux. The leap he took looked supernatural, and the other Akalaks in the room likely knew what he had just done. However that did not bother him one bit.

The remainder of the drunken Akalaks began a battle of their own as a result of Skyard starting the chaos. Bottles and glasses were thrown, Ale flew throughout the entirety of the vicinity, blows were exchanged. The day continued to get more and more wild with the amount of time they spent together. Had their relationship been toxic, or was it truly a match made in heaven?

All was right as it should have been. A drunken fool had been doubled over by a well-aimed shot to his family jewels, and given the agony that held him for several ticks, the Myrian had a feeling he wouldn't be troubling her quite some time. At least not until he fully recovered from the deliberate, hard blow. A secondary emotion of displeasure ignited into full-blown fury. Her wide, fiery eyes found Skyard just before the roaring boom of his voice quieted the rambunctious crowd of tavern-goers. His foot steps stomped like a giant's across the ale-ridden floor. His feral stare was filled with a blood lust the violent Myrian was all too familiar with.

Skyard had rushed to the bar with such swift action there was virtually no chance to stop him. The Kelvic was airborne, jumping higher than any normal man was capable of. Then, with a cracking sound that would make any uneasy stomach squirm, the purple Akalak was assaulted with what might have been a god's fist to his head. The already wounded Akalak's cranium swiveled in the wake of the crushing blow, his body careering violently into the side of the bar before he dropped like dead weight upon the floor. Kaie's jaw unhinged.

Without warning, a searing pain seized her with ghostly source. The surprise of its arrival initially knocked the wind from her lungs before she remembered herself. She lifted her right hand, only to find it devoid of the injury that she swore had wrecked its potency. Nonetheless, despite the agony that came with a lack of adrenaline, she found the fingers still curled if she willed them so. The electric nature of the pain carried from her knuckles to her neck. Her wide, questioning eyes found her bondmate. Answer came when she peered down at him while he seized the unconscious man, spying his evidently damaged right hand while the left dealt with the enemy.

Skyard was right. He had warned her, warned her of his sensitivity and the depths of a connection she would work to wholly fathom. As his arms wrapped about her, she could feel the oven-hot heat that poured from the pores of his right arm. Admiration and guilt flooded her conscience all at once. She leaned forward and pressed her lips to his before breaking away, sensing an unease about the room as a result of his very public actions.

"Come. Let us see to your wounds," Kaie offered Skyard softly, taking his good hand and navigating with him toward the exit. Naturally, as the warring bodies found themselves in her path, the Myrian had no qualms about planting foot to ass to swiftly remove them. Yet it became clear the depths of his jealousy had been sorely underestimated. The test, she realized in hindsight, did naught but place him in unnecessary danger...a danger she would next time not hesitate to put down with fist and sword should it rear its head again. "I've heard of a medicine center somewhere in the city. We should see everything taken care of by skilled hands before the strength of your next punch is forfeit."

Skyard always felt at ease when he came in contact with her; her word was his will, and as her bond-mate he would do her bidding without question. The Lion felt an unwavering sense of devotion for her, and even at the cost of his own life he would protect her. However, he did not even recall all of the events that happened all at once. As if he had short term memory loss he had immediately forgotten everything that he previously did. All that Skyard knew was that he was in an incredible amount of pain. He felt as if the muscles in his calves were torn as well, but he walked slowly behind his lover. His right eye winced whilst he continued to pace himself behind her. Skyard was elated, but knew that teaching her a lesson was not worth the amount of pain he was in.

However, Skyard did not intend to look like a coward before the very woman that he felt gave him strength. She mentioned some sort of medicinal clinic that was in the city; he had never injured himself to this extent before. Skyard knew that his abilities allowed him to access more of what he called “inner power”. He knew that he overextended himself with that series of movements and that single devastating blow. Perhaps now his bond-mate would not underestimate his abilities. Maybe he had given her multiple messages all at once by striking that drunken individual down.

Despite all of the pain he managed to crack a smile at Kaie. While the remainder of the drunken Akalaks began battles of their own she guided him through the chaos. He could sense her protective nature even if he were at a great distance away from her. He felt an overwhelming sense of guilt in the back of his mind. She felt guilty, and he knew it but he had no problem with the situation at all. After all if it only took a single visit to a clinic to repair him he would willingly do all of this again. Skyard hadn't felt that exhilarated in quite a while perhaps it was a good thing that she bound to him.

“ I never knew that there was a medical clinic here. “ Skyard spoke briefly but he continued to feel like she wanted to know something. He did not want to hide anything from her, but he knew that the very thing that made him strong was a double edged sword. More often than not he found himself battered and beaten from using the flux. He went ahead and decided to pick her mind; to find out if she truly had any questions regarding what happened.

“So, since I know you have multiple questions to ask. I want you to ask them while we are on our way; perhaps that would take my mind off of all this pain. “ Skyard beckoned Kaie as he continued to think about the fact that in a few moments he would be hit with a freight train of pain. He attempted to move the fingers on his right hand only to be met with incredibly intense pain that shot all the way up his arm. He felt as if it were the equivalent of being hit with a hammer and nail through the hand. He was not very well versed in taking much pain, but he pressed on knowing the extent of his injuries.

The Myrian continued to lead her bondmate into the street, taking a left out the door of the tavern and into the crowds. Syna beat down with searing rays that almost felt like home. The heat upon her copper flesh was soothing, yet the Myrian could see feel the mirror of Skyard's injury on her own arm. She briefly paused a woman passing them by to inquire about the medical center's location. Pleased to discover the old Gilia Medical Center was just around the corner, she made haste in its direction with the Kelvic at her heels.

Normally she was quite facetious when it came to injury. Whether it was a bruise, a gash, or a broken rib, the Myrian was far more comfortable playing off her pain rather than burdening another with her plight. With Skyard, this was not so. She recognized the sensation of yanked muscles and broken bones to be a shadow of what her bondmate felt. That knowledge evoked a rare and genuine concern in the woman, but with the invitation to ask more questions, something else in recent history pressed at her mind.

"How did you do that...thing you did?" Kaie asked the question vaguely at first, eyes locked on the crowd she navigated through with purpose. "The jumping, was that a perk of what you are? And what of the punch? I've never seen a man's head turn like that." It was a bit unsettling, the hypothetical answers to the important questions she asked. Skyard had leaped with more finesse than a frog to a new lily pad, and smashed the skull of his enemy with a fist heavier than a gorilla's. From what she could gather from foggy memory, Ardea had not appeared capable of such feats despite her race. If the skills were linked to his kind, there was only one hateful explanation left: magic.

There were few things Kaie completely and irrevocably loathed in the world. The Myrian thought crossbows to be but a coward's weapon. Zith were the bane of her existence, and if she had her way, she'd see them purged from the face of the world even if it required the payment of her life. Then there was magic. Magic was not an element she was fond of.

Like most Myrian clans that were not based on magic, Kaie saw mages as individuals weak of body using a non-physical skill as a crutch. The last mage she associated herself with was named Fallon, and her use of Dhani Magic would've been impossible to get past had it not been for her admirable combat capabilities and loyalty. Her question might not have completely redirected the man from his pain, but it was a crucial thing for her to know about him.

There it was, she decided to ask the question he knew that she intended to. She wanted to know what that display was; she asked first about the jump followed by the punch. When his hand collided with the mans skull he immediately knew that the opponent would drop. Skyard did not expect to find a woman that was so compassionate with him, and although she was a “savage” she was incredibly gentle. They arrived at the clinic and Skyard did not bother to hesitate or waste time lying to her; he wanted her to trust him the way that he would trust her. He parted his lips and spoke in a rather quiet tone.

“I am far stronger than I appear at first glance. Not only because of the fact that I am a Kelvic, but it is truly because of the fact that I have a very special skill. I practice a discipline called Flux, which is a magic that is physical. Purely physical, and based on maximizing the potential usage of the body. Although as a result of the flux you will often destroy yourself using it. Broken bones, muscle tears? That Is just the beginning, and if you believe this pain is intense then you haven't experienced the half of it. I once saw a mans eyes spontaneously shoot from his head as a result of misusing the Flux. What I did required quite a bit of effort, I concentrated everything that I had in my muscles. My legs, and my right arm in order to deliver that blow. That was only a slight display of what I am truly capable of, and if I continue to use the flux I will eventually be capable of far more than what I just described.”

He concluded his brief speech by planting a kiss upon her lips as he turned toward her. Skyard was not a man who enjoyed weapons in the least bit. In fact the usage of weapons had been one discipline he never grew any interest in. He thought of weapons as an extension beyond that of the physical body; which was unnecessary if the person possessed the proper skill to use what they were born with. Skyard hoped that she would understand why he used magic, but he knew that she did not know enough about him to justify its usage.

“You and I know hardly anything about one another, but since I love you so much that is all about to change. I am going to give you a brief summary of why I came to use magic, and what has happened. Firstly I will tell you that you are not my first bond-mate. My first bond-mate was male, and I was an incredibly young boy at the time. I was raised in Syliras in a household filled with users of various types of magic. The flux was forced upon me, and that is why I have become good with its usage, My first bond-mate was slain. Although he is gone he has not been forgotten, and ever since that day I could not help but think his disappearance is fabricated.”

Skyard spoke in what seemed to be an incredibly sad tone. However he knew that the future was filled with infinite possibilities so long as Kaie remained by his side. Skyard smiled at her in order to reassure her of the fact that he would not so much as think about him again. “I will also inform you, that bonds can Kill both parties. If the bond is broken.. anyway..! I have incredibly high hopes for you, for me... For us together.” Skyard spoke as he winced in pain again and waited patientl

A mage, Kaie's mind alerted her as Skyard began to explain the impossible events that had just recently occurred. Flux was a new discipline of magic to the Myrian woman. She had heard of it back when the jungle was all she knew, but never did she have the privilege of witnessing its execution first hand. Relief smoothed over the crease in her forehead. If this Flux was the same magic spoken of in Taloba, it was not one of the wretched Dhani Magics that her people loathed. Instead Skyard appeared to be a practitioner of a skill that pushed his physical abilities to their absolute limits, maximizing his own potential rather than compensating for a flaw. The exploration of one's own body in such a way was admirable in his case rather than something to cast judgement upon. It certainly didn't come without punishment. The continued pain in her arm attested to that much.

Kaie's lips worked eagerly upon her bondmate's when they met again. Yet as he offered his intentions to explain more of himself to her, she couldn't help but wonder if the gesture was some sort of consolation for the story he was about to tell. Apparently there was another that had come before her, and she had merely taken up his mantle at the center of the Kelvic's world. Moreover, the way Skyard spoke about the man from his past, Kaie gathered he might've been a cold individual. She ran copper-toned fingers through her hair. The bond is strong. How a man could find himself in a position to leave him, let alone force anything upon him, is beyond my comprehension. Of course there was that pause that came at the end of the story. That time of reflection of days gone by, to feel the emptiness of the void left in the wake of disappointment. The Myrian had a thought to wallow a moment with him in it. Perhaps she might've offered him kind words. The nonchalant detail he provided her afterward silenced such thoughts.

"I will also inform you, that bonds can kill both parties...if the bond is broken."

Kaie blinked at him. Kill both parties? What she was beginning to feel was something immensely powerful. It filled her with a new purpose in the wake of a lost one, a thing that seemed like fated timing. No longer a singular soul traversing the strange world beyond her homelands, she had a partner, a lover, a person she wished to hold on to and never part from his side. Evidence proved he was willing to fight for her, with her, and challenge her in ways she had never experienced before. The irony was almost too great to bear, and had she been feeling especially masochistic, she might've broken into a fit of maniacal laughter right there in the street. It seemed only right, given her track record, that her blessing in disguise was also her bane.

It was easier for her to hone in on the sensation of pain rather than ponder over the seriousness of the new fact. "This way," she coaxed the man instead inside a building that managed to appear far older than most of Riverfall's other buildings. The entrance led the pair to a desk manned by two fearsome-looking Akalak sentries. One of the pair spoke in Tukant, but upon registering the blank face of the Myrian, he immediately repeated the instructions in Common. "Forfeit all weapons before entering. They will be returned to you upon exiting." Kaie pursed her lips, hesitating for a tick. Then she sighed and began to undo her weapons belt from around her waist. Her gladius thunked upon the table first, followed by her kukri. The Akalak who had spoken rose a brow. Kaie rolled her eyes, and relinquished from her backpack a food knife that was promptly placed beside the other weapons.

"You too," the other Akalak barked at Skyard. Meanwhile, the first appraised the two. His eyes settled on the Kelvic's ravaged arm. "When you've finished here, head down the left hallway. A man named Karvin will be waiting. He's no stranger to wounds like yours." He held up his free hand, implying it too had once emerged from the fray with plenty of punishment to show for it.

Kaie took the lead and guided him toward another building which appeared to be incredibly old in comparison to the others. However, the moment Skyard and his Bond-mate entered the vicinity an Akalak told them to remove all weapons they possessed. Of course Skyard did not have weapons; if he was given one he would not know how to use it. Skyard chuckled a bit as Kaie seemed to catch an attitude with the Akalak. The Kelvic watched as she removed a plethora of weapons; so many that Skyard lost count after three. What in the world was she doing with all of those weapons? He heard the loud “thunk” of the metal against the table.

The opposing man instructed Skyard to deliver any and all weapons he had. Skyard simply shook his head from left to right, and did as the man said. This time Skyard took charge and paced down the left hallway. The entirety of this area had been unknown to the Lion, and made him a bit anxious despite the fact that he went for the sole purpose of receiving treatment. Skyard could only hope that whoever this “Karvin” was that he could make the pain stop. The Lion tended to wear his scars of battle proudly, and if one looked closely they would find four small faint white lines across his visage. They came from a battle against a Night Lion. Skyard lived to tell the tale, and even managed to devour his opponent afterward; a feat that he would forever be incredibly proud of.

He was surprised that Kaie had not noticed the four elongated large scars across his chest diagonally from his collarbone to his right pectoral. They too came from the encounter, but if she did not inquire about them then he would not bother to mention it. His thought process raced, and he wanted to know if “karvin” was one of the people rumored to be called “Healers”. Skyard had heard of them time and time again; only to never see them at all.

Skyard turned his head toward Kaie, and locked eyes with her for a moment. He wanted to apologize for being so forward about the situation between them. A sigh escaped his lips as he stopped in the middle of another step. He released her hand briefly and aggressively grasped hold of her rump; he did not hesitate to pull her closer despite the pain in his arm. He kissed away at her lips passionately, and rapidly mere feet away from the room where he would receive treatment. He wanted to thank her in some fashion, and his affections were the only way he could think of to show her gratitude.

The Lion had almost forgotten where they were for a moment; as his hands made the journey upward and his arms coiled around her waist. As he continued to bombard her with multitudes of kisses; he ceased and grasped a hold of the woman's bottom lip between his ivories. He gave it a gentle tug, and let go after a split-tick. He had not realized that the very man he sought out for treatment stood and watched in silence. Perhaps he did not want to disturb their moment, and although Skyard had no shame in being incredibly affectionate in public the man seemed to take notes of the Kelvics arm.

“So, Are you going to come in? Or should I give you two a bit more time?” Said Karvin as he cocked a brow at the couple.

Symbols in the Sand (Kaie)

A man who carries no weapons? It was an unfathomable concept to the woman who was practically a walking armory. Had she not stopped home to drop off most of her belongings initially intended to be carried onto the ship, relinquishing weapons of all sorts from her person would've been truly comical to watch. It made sense that a lion would have no need for anything but fang and claw. Yet, for a Kelvic in human form, it seemed strange to her that Skyard would neglect arming himself properly. Whether his Flux did more harm than good certainly was up to debate from her perspective. It seemed to be a discipline intended as a last resort and a final word in a fight.

The pair swiftly made their way down the hallway in the direction the sentry had instructed them. This mysterious man, Karvin, seemed to be the local most gifted in healing affairs. The Myrian decided they would be the judge of that depending on how well Skyard was cared for. She was a woman on a mission, but her bondmate's touch was all that seemed to pull her from it. In a tick he had her spun around, a grin instantly spread across her face before she met his lips with her own. As cliche as it sounded, for the time their lips moved together and teeth sank into flesh to tantalize, all seemed right in the world. Pain was but a forgotten concept. There existed only the Myrian and the Kelvic in that roomed, wrapped up in one another as if there was no care in the world but the present bliss...until there was.

The sound of a deep voice caught the carried away woman by surprise. She broke their kiss and spun on her heels to face the blue Akalak smirking in the doorway. She wiped the shock off her face in a tick, smoothing her features over for wear a cool facade instead and clearing her throat. "About time," the Myrian suggested before moving past Karvin to enter one of the nearby treatment rooms. As she passed the Akalak healer turned to Skyard, offering a mirthful look that intended to say something like "you certainly have your hands full with that one, don't you?" He offered a quiet chuckle, and once the pair were herded into the treatment room, he shut the door behind himself.

"Well it's not mystery what brings you here," he said plainly with a gesture toward Skyard's right arm. He motioned for the Kelvic to take a seat on a nearby bench. Meanwhile, Kaie stood in the corner, arms folded with a distrustful stare settled upon the famed healer. "By Wysar, you've managed to do quite a bit of damage to yourself." The healer pursed his blue lips and carefully inspected the wounded limb before looking up at his patient again. "May I?" He glanced up at Skyard, gesturing between his hands and the wounded limb.

"What will you do? Splint it?" The Myrian woman asked ignorantly from her position in the corner, suspicion saturating her questions. Karvin glanced at her and shook his head with a polite smile. "I haven't dealt with too many patients today. It's early enough that you two are one of my first. I can do much better than average medicine for your friend today...if he'll let me." Kaie looked to Skyard to gauge his reaction. She shrugged her shoulder at him. There was quite a bit of damage to be fixed, and any medicine she'd seen required a lengthy recovery. If this Karvin had a safe work-around, the risk seemed a smart one to take on. Yet, though they were bonded, Skyard was his own man. His wound might've been felt in her body as if it were her own, but she would not force another's hands and abilities upon him if he did not wish it.
