Ashka, rider of the white horses of the sea

Image

Appearance

Race: Human, mixed
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Birthday: 83, Spring, 501
Birthplace: Suvan Sea

Appearance: At 16, Ashka stands 5' 8", and is still growing, with wide shoulders, long limbs, and a body that hasn't yet filled out to match her frame. This gives her a gawky, almost ungainly look.

At 17, she stands 5' 9" tall, and beginning to fill out, although still long-limbed and gawky.

She has long, bushy, mousy-brown, hair and blue eyes that look almost blue-green in some lights. She tends to bundle her hair back under bright scarves to keep it out of her way and under some kind of control. A svefran tattoo sits on her left shoulder: from one angle it resembles a breaking wave, from another it resembles the head of a horse.

Character Concept

Caught between land and sea, not fitting in either, and stuck with a double dose of wanderlust, Ashka is more reserved than her kin on either side. She watches warily for the next prank she is sure is about to be played on her, but if someone gets past the reserve and the wariness, she is loyal, quick to defend, and full of her own quirky humour.

Character History

Born of a Svefra mother and a Drykas father, Ashka grew up mostly on her mother's ship, seeing her father only when the Run brought him close to the coast. She learned to spin and weave, making cord for fishing lines, rope for rigging, or cloth for a sail, whichever was necessary at the time.

As she grew older, she became aware that as an unmarked Svefra-mix, she was more of a hindrance on voyages than a help, and when her mother suggested that she and her little sister spend longer with their father and see if the Sea of Grass - or just the land in general - was a better fit, she unhappily agreed.

Their mother dropped them off at Riverfall, but their father never showed up, and without his backing, none of the Drykas that did come to trade were interested in taking a pair of sea-trained walahks under their wing. Ashka thanked them anyway, gathered up her own travel gear and, with her sister in tow, set out to find a place where they might actually fit in for once.

Housing

(Brackets note not yet acquired in thread)

Eternal Ice - These five small stones appear to be quartz crystals. However, when dumped into a beverage, much like real ice, they cool the beverage to just above freezing temperatures. They are reusable.

Wand Of Purification - This wand of gleaming silver, when plunged into water, will cleanse the water of any impurities and make it safe to drink. Even the worst smelling off colored water will turn into pure crystal clear water

Toy Casinor - This artifact level item has the appearance of a child's toy boat. However, when its keyword is spoken (the owner will know its keyword) it will expand out into a full sized Casinor. It can be deactivated as well and tucked back into ones pocket. All contents will be shrunk as well. Living occupants will perish

(Coin of Sustenance
Flip this coin into the air. Heads you feel as though you have just consumed a 5-course gourmet with all the benefits. Tails and you feel as though you haven’t eaten in 3 days.)
