Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

Arriving in the city

35 day of Spring

Mgelika can hear the commotion outside but doesn't think anything of it, it wasn't the first time his captors had made slaves fight each other, or one of them for amusement, and assumed it was the same. Happy that after his last fight he was deemed too boring to fight again. After a few minutes of fighting the man Mgelika believed to be the leader of the slavers came in and quickly untied him from the tent pole, with a very angry look on his face. "You WILL do as I tell you or I'll kill you without a second thought. "I'll be damned if those idiotic Cyphrus guards will take a payday like you away from me alive." Hearing the Cyphrus guards had found them made Mgelika's heart skip a beat, he knew they didn't like slavers and would more than likely set him free, or at least treat him better than this lot had been. Not wanting to risk being killed Mgelika complied to the man's orders and moved as directed, as quickly as he could, which wasn't very quickly. As they near the edge of the camp Mgelika takes a fall and groans in pain, drawing attention of some of the guards close by, the guards quickly run the slaver threw and almost attack Mgelika but he yells "SLAVE, I'M A SLAVE" and holds his arms out as best as he can, showing his chains, the guard stop shortly before the sword pierces Mgelika's skin, and quickly points off to the distance using his sword. "Head that way and our people will find out.

Mgelika didn't have to walk very long when someone came up to him and knocked him to the ground. "Don't resist and we'll free you slave" he hears a man say. Not moving Mgelika lets the man do as he wishes, while trying to take off the chains from his legs, than arms, when he saw the collar around his neck the guard stopped for a second, and left it. "A Kelvic I assume, let's leave that collar on for now. Follow me and we'll have you looked over." After a quick look over by a onsite medic the guards took him to a open trailer and had him wait on it, until it was full.

Several hours latter Mgelika arrived at Riverfall city all the slaves were escorted inside the city and quickly to a building. Seeing several of his fellow slaves go into another room, one by one, Mgelika started to become nervous, none of them came back threw. All he could think of was wondering if they really were who they claimed to be, could these really just be a rival slave gang? When it was finally his turn Mgelika went into the next room willingly and sat down in the provided char opposite another man. "Welcome to Riverfall" he starts "as of now you are a free man, Before we release you back into the world we'd like to get some basic information, such as your name and what kind of Kelvic you are." Getting more weary of these men Mgelika looks down at his hands for a minute before responding. "My name is Mge..... Freke, my name is Freke and I'm a wolf" Not knowing these men, or what they wanted he didn't dare tell them the truth about his wolf. "Very well" says the other man "Please go threw this other door and you'll be given some money and a chance to find a room for rent for a few days while you decide what you want to do"

"Did you go see the doctor like I asked Miralyn?" Marilyn shrugged and nodded said "Yeah, a few days ago" He smiled for a second, clearly pleased and then said "And?"" Marilyn sighed and tried very hard to restrain herself from making a sarcastic and rude comment. Her father didn't take those well. "And I'm fine. Now stop worrying and get to work." She told him firmly. The man nodded and left "See you later." He told her and then turned and left.

Mira's expression was troubled and her hand had traveled back to her baby bump, lazily circling it. She felt her eyes almost well up with tears, but she didn't let them spill before she was moving again. She had an hour to kill before work and she had no idea what she wanted to do with it. She had hoped her father would be able to have lunch with her but unfortunately duty always called when she was feeling most in need of his company. Lazily, Marilyn explored the streets of the city. She passed shops and had the odd gawk at their wares but didn't stop to buy anything. She didn't stop for food even though she was hungry, she could sometimes eat at work for free, so why pay?

She was ambling along near the city gates when she almost ran right into a commotion. A group of Akalak's were escorting a bulky man into a building. She stopped to watch but she couldn't work out what they were doing? She waited a moment to see if they would emerge again so that she could find out and eventually the man came out again. If he came through the gates, she supposed he must be knew to the city. Possibly he'd need help finding the Labor Aid Office. She remembered how lost she'd been when she first arrived. Still she wasn't going to just, go up to a stranger. Although it did occur to her that he might have noticed her staring by now.

Arriving in the city

(Thank you, and sorry. A date has been added)

Leaving the building Freke looks around, scared and confused. He was now free, but what did that mean? Seeing a pale skinned woman across the way he puts on a fake smile, and stands tall, trying to look like his normal self. Walking in her general direction Freke starts looking at the shops along the way, seeing who sells what and making a mental notes. Stopping before a city message board Freke takes a look at the map of the city, looking for a place to stay and, more importantly, a place selling meat. Deciding to stay at The Kulkukan Tavern & Inn, the prices seemed cheap enough, and he'd be able to eat some, and get a room rather quickly.
As Freke walks up to Mira he bows deeply and talks quietly "Greetings my lady" After bowing for a few moments Freke slowly rises and turns back into the city, studying the streets, to try and make sure he's picking the right path

Disaster. The man she had been looking at had caught her and was coming her way. Miralyn froze, and prepared herself to find an excuse to get away if things got uncomfortable. but for some reason, the man looked... scared, almost. It was strange to see such an expression on a man of his size and stature. He towered over her like a giant and his arms had to be as wide as her waist! The man approached, casually looking around him as he did, taking in a new city, perhaps.

He greeted her when he got close enough, and she hadn't moved an inch. "Oh." She said, probably rudely. She cursed in her head and then amended the lack-of-greeting with something a little more appropriate "Hi. Are you lost?" She asked him "Gods, I've never been bowed to..." She followed up with that under her breath. It was an oddity, the way this man spoke and acted. It seemed to contradict his appearance, which was quite intimidating. "Do you always speak like that, cos I've never 'erd someone call me 'My Lady', before."

Arriving in the city

Freke keeps his head lowered and his eyes on the ground, making sure not to look Miralyn in the face. Pretending not to hear her comment about his bow Freke responds in a subtle tone "Yes, My Lady, I was trained to always show respect to my betters. To answer your other question I do not know yet, I just came to this city. From what I saw of the map behind me I believe I know where I'm going." Suddenly the color drains from his face in fear again and he bows even deeper than the first time. "I apologize my lady for being so rude, I did not introduce myself. My name is Freke" Standing there, still bowing, he doesn't move a inch, for fear of worsening his offense and angering or offending the woman before him.

His behaviour was baffling to her. For a few moments the Konti said nothing, she just stared, then she snapped out of it and said "I am no better or worse than you Freke" She told him firmly "In reversal we do not keep slaves, so you don't have to act like one! You look as strong as the Akalaks here" Awkwardly Miralyn scratched the back of her head. Eventually she sighed and said "How about we go to the Labor aid office together, I know the fastest way through the city." He told him, trying to be nice, mostly because she was bubbling over with curiosity about this submissive creature "Would you like to accompany me?" She asked him with a small tilt of her head.

Marilyn supposed for a long time she had been a 'slave' to her ex boyfriend, but people reacted to bad situations in different ways and this must be his 'way'. "Please, no more milady, call me Mira, or Marilyn!" She added quickly over her shoulder "And don't feel you need to bow your head to anyone in this city, unless of course you want to. The only rules here are that you must contribute to the city in some way." She informed him "That's why we're going to the labor aid, to find you a suitable job and a place to stay." She told him

Confused by her statement that was no better than him, Freke carefully looked at her out of the corner of his eye. Was she a slave as well? While she did dress rather well for a slave, it is possible that's what her owner wanted. Just as he's about to ask she told him they didn't have slaves here. "Excuse me My Lady, but why wouldn't you have slaves?" Freke asked out of genuine curiosity. Turning to Marilyn he smiles, hoping this will please her. "Yes, I will follow you. If I am needed for work I will happily do my best My Lady" As he followed her, he was content someone was giving him orders again, and would have something for him to do

He'd never had a free person tell him to use their first name in such a way, confused why she did this Freke decided it was best to acknowledge. "As you wish My Lady Marliyn." Being told he didn't have to bow didn't feel right to Freke, it was rude to not lower your head in the presence of your betters. Following Marliyn Freke slightly bows "Thank you My Lady Marliyn. I appreciate your help in making me useful. If it's not to much of a imposition would you please tell me more about this labor aid?"
