Syka Warp and Weft
Concept: Ashka is adapting skills learned about ship for making and mending sails, rigging, and nets, to a more land-bound existance. She is accustomed to anchoring the end of her backstrap loom to whatever is available - her bunk, her canoe, a handy tree branch, even her own feet if need be - and rolling it up and storing it away when she is done for the day. Likewise, with her drop spindle, she can spin anywhere. She makes anything spun or woven that the small settlement needs or can sell, from thread to mend clothes torn by the jungle, to cord for traps, snares, and fishing lines, to making and mending rope for nets, to woven walls for simple buildings, rugs and mats from local fibre for local homes and export, and a few clothing and decorative items that can be made directly on her loom. She operates out of her tent, and sells her items either directly, or through the Mercantile.
