The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

7th of Summer 518AV

The mists surrounding the city seemed to settle lower and lower each morning, enveloping more of the Twilight tower in soft, milky fuzz. Once bustling with the life of students, teachers and visitors alike weaving though it's many skyglass corridors, the tower now stood still. Perhaps one or two lonesome souls reminded the outside world that tuition had not been halted and the doors had not yet closed. Still the mysterious air of the building only intensified with passing hours.

That morning, Raeyn, much like he often did, was one of those visiting souls. He had come to one of the many brilliant lecture halls where, having joined a handful of other alchemy students, he awaited the appearance of a professor.

Words could not quite capture the love Raeyn had for the magical discipline. As a child he would wander about the laws of the world he lived in. The natural inspired him. As a teenager many of those questions he would find answers to in books during long days of reading in solitude. But alchemy would give him a whole new level of understanding. For to truly learn the rules of possibility he needed to experiment with the impossible. Thus as a man, the alchemist learned, that he had power over the natural world he could not fathom in his younger years. A power he was growing addicted to. A knowledge he hungered for like a dog hungered for kibble.

There was an unquenchable fire of ambition in him. Raeyn's life journey as a mage was only getting started and the lessons of the Twilight Tower were only a stepping stone.

Finally the great door to the lecture hall swung open and along with the last of the students who lacked the good sense of early arrival, the new professor appeared. He descended down the stairs, lined with seats on either side and took his place at the front of the hall where an introduction was made.

"Good morning students. My name is professor Vosse. That's V. O. S. S. E. Welcome to to my lecture of Alchemical theory. I trust you'll all remain quiet for the next hour. let's begin."

The wizard spoke with a voice so monotone it seemed as if he was bored by the very words he said. His eye never once looked up to the students he addressed. Instead he splayed out a great, dusty tome in front of him and propping the glasses upon his nose, he read from it and whatever notes he had prepared for the occasion.

Professor Vosse was a short man. Extremely short in fact with a frail build clad by grey robes, much unlike the vivacious, extravagant fashions of the city. That didn't strike Raeyn as odd however, for he heard gossip that the wizard had travelled all the way up from Alvadas to settle in the city and make use of it's resources. Perhaps this was merely a case of slow adjustment to the hustle and bustle and beauty of the Rose of Kalea.

Undeterred by the professor's careless demeanour, Raeyn sat back in his seat and listened to the lecture intently. He didn't pay his tuition fees to slack off on his learning.
