Aurelius Saltwind
Appearance
Race: Svefra
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Birthday: 14, Fall, 499.
Birthplace: The Suvan Sea near Syliras
Appearance: This tall Svefra stands at about 6'2, his peppered brown hair close scraggly beard showing off his young age. His lean swimmer's physique is typical to the Svefra lifestyle with little to distinguish him from others around him. What could likely be seen as atypical is the calm curiosity in his eyes, always looking, taking in everything around him, seeking as much information as possible for his enjoyment.
Character Concept
A man of the world, or at the very least, the sea. Aurelius is one to explore, to see sights, meet people, and to tell the tale of the sea. The way of his people is nomadic, life is quick and death even quicker. He learned this at an early age when his family's ship helped attack a pirate vessel that had been praying on the trade lanes between Kenash and Alvadas, and he saw men and women fight and die, their bodies thrown to the waters for animals to feed on. That horrible image never left his mind, and so when the chance came, he bid farewell to his family, his pod, and set out by himself, his mission clear, see as much as possible and document it all, into the largest chronical ever seen in Mizahar.
Character History
Saltwind never knew his mother, a few months after he'd been born she and many others were lost to a terrible storm. Still, for a child of the sea, this was not much of an issue, the Pod was his father, his mother, sister, brother, all in one. As he grew, Saltwind was raucous, brimming with energy, much like the other children of Laviku, he was swimming as soon as he was able. He learned the trade of his people quickly, as being quick and cunning was the only way to tame the sea. While he learned to pilot a boat and to be part of a crew, which was enough for his pod to survive, He was not much for fishing and hunting instead, becoming a record keeper of sorts, cataloging their essentials and counting their money. It was a chance meeting at Zaltiva that would eventually put him on the path he is currently on. At a cafe one of the customers had put down his book while Saltwind was walking by, without much thought, as the man no longer needed it, he picked up the book and began to read as he walked. That book would turn out to be none other than Kenabelle Wright's tale of circumnavigation. He was enamored with it instantly and read it from front to back, taking it with him to his ship and sailing away with the book in hand.
