A city floating in the center of a lake, Ravok is a place of dark beauty, romance and culture. Behind it all though is the presence of Rhysol, God of Evil and Betrayal. The city is controlled by The Black Sun, a religious organization devoted to Rhysol. [Lore]

If asked, nobody on the streets remembers exactly when the strange structure, known as The Dovecote, appeared on the edge of the City Center. It simply appeared one day without any record of construction or authorization by the Temple of the Black Sun, The Ebonstryfe or any of the Ruling Families or Merchant organizations. It didn't take long for such groups to investigate the unique tower.

Rising over 50 feet high, The Dovecote has attracted quite the population of doves who nest within its exposed upper levels. The tower is topped with two angled points with a large, uniquely carved, triangular wooden door offering entry into the ground level. The door is large enough to allow for a small, horse-drawn, two-wheeled cart or a handful of people to enter. Once the door is closed and opened a moment later, those inside will be greeted by a strange new landscape. Foreign to anything seen in Ravok, visitors are welcomed to The Outpost.

In recognition of the potential such a place had for Ravok's economy, The Dovecote and The Outpost, Rhysol gave a personal address to the people of Ravok from the balcony of The Temple of the Black Sun. He decreed that all citizens of Ravok would be allowed entry into The Dovecote as well as being allowed to return so long as they registered their exit from and return to the city; for the security of the city. Those entering and exiting The Dovecote will note that they may only travel to The Outpost and return to Ravok; travel to anywhere else does not seem possible.

The entrance to The Dovecote is always guarded by two soldiers of the Ebonstryfe. These soldiers are outfitted with weapons and armor enhanced through the gadgeteering of Janson, the mechanical man who has become an influential designer, builder and security agent within the city. In order to enter The Dovecote and visit The Outpost, all who would enter must show their official papers and sign in upon entry and out upon their return.
