72nd of Winter, 510AV

Nydryn stepped off the ferry; her arms lay limply by her sides. The bag on her shoulder had a hole in the front, which was new since yesterday. She thought back about it, and sighed in relief, knowing her time in the wilderness outside of Ravok was over… at least for now. She ran a hand through her hair, and then groaned realizing how dirty her hand was. She walked through the streets of Ravok slowly, limping a bit. Her clothes were still damp from the rain earlier in the day. She had ripped her skirt while in the wilderness so it now ended mid thigh. It was necessary to do so because she had gotten a gash on her arm and she needed something to bind around the wound. The brown cloth of her skirt was now wrapped around her right upper forearm. Various cuts and bruises were on her arms and legs, but none of the cuts were very deep.

After many debates with herself, Nydryn had decided to stay in Ravok longer. She originally had gone into the wilderness outside of Ravok to start her journey to Sunberth to find information about the location of her mother, but the day’s events had made her reconsider. She was placing so much importance on trying to find her mother, but now she realized that she needed to move on. If she continued along this path of trying to find her mother, she would waste her life away. A tear slid down her cheek realizing that she would probably never see her mother again.

Nydryn’s footsteps were soft as she walked through many streets. They all were a blur, and she had no idea where she was headed. People brushed by her on both sides, and Nydryn stumbled into a middle aged woman. The woman’s hair was a muted brown with streaks of silver in it, and her face was plain. She was carrying a dark brown bag, which was on her back. She glared at Nydryn before stepping around her, but before the woman could pass, Nydryn quickly reached into the bag. She knew she had to do this quickly or the woman would turn around and would get the Black Sun on Nydryn’s tail. Nydryn’s hand searched inside of the bag, and then quickly was pulled out of the bag as soon as she had gripped something in her hand. About a block away, Nydryn looked at what she had taken from the woman and her eyes grew wide. It was an assassin’s dagger. She stuck it in one of her boots, and thought for a second. Why would a woman like that… a common woman have an assassin’s dagger? If she was an assassin, then Nydryn would be in deep trouble.

Nydryn shook off the feeling and focused on where she was going. She had walked for at least twenty to thirty minutes so far, and she was becoming exhausted. Along with the past day’s events, and traveling back to the city, Nydryn was dirty, worn, and tired. She was walking at a slower pace now, if that was even possible, when she spotted a tavern. The tavern’s name was The Silver Sliver Tavern, and Nydryn pushed the door open. There were not many people inside; a couple at a table near the back, three men at a table close to the couple and a man at the bar. After taking a seat at a table away from the others in the tavern, Nydryn dumped her bag on the ground.

A tall black haired girl came to Nydryn’s table, “Hello Miss, would you like something to drink?” the girl’s voice was low and slightly suspicious of Nydryn due to her attire.

“You guys have ale?” Nydryn inquired, her voice strong, but a bit hoarse. The barmaid nodded. “Ill have that.” Nydryn ordered, her voice somewhat softer.
Glancing out at the canal, Nydryn crossed her arms. She had no idea what she would do now. The search for her mother was over by choice, and Nydryn was in Ravok, her favorite city. Looking down at her clothes, Nydryn decided that one of the first things she should do is find some new clothes.

It was a little early for Nina's liking. She hated this time of day, when the streets where hustling and bustling, and it was easy for anyone to steal anything. Even though people naturally gravitated away from her, in which the frown on my face and onyx armor which matched my hair helped, she was still uncomfortable. She decided to seek shealter from the people surrounding her. She slipped into what seemed like a tavern. She sighed with relief to see that it wasn't crowded, but raised an eyebrow towards a mans drink which seemed to shine a brilliant... silver? Where was she? She got a few looks, appearantly she'd been standing there for a while. She sat down at a table where a barmaid had been taking a girl's order. "I'll have what she's having." The barmaid jumped slightly, frightened by her silent aproach, or maybe Nina herself, though she didn't find herself to be scary. She looked over at the girl who was sitting across from her who seemed to be deep in her thoughts. She breifly wondered what she had been thinking so intently about as to cause the not to notice her before speaking. "Hello. I'm Nina, nice to meet you. Her voice was as it usually was, intoxicating yet eery, and she involuntarily smiled, her sharp 'fangs' glistening before she realized how threatening she must look and pressed her lips together and frowned. This is why she didn't socialize, it was to much trouble trying not to offend anyone. She didn't realize how battered the girl looked, even if she had, she probably wouldn't have said anything.

Postby Malkur on February 17th, 2011, 5:30 pm

Sitting in the tavern before either had arrived was one Malkur Kyra, traveling warrior. If one could truly call him that, considering his generally 'meh' level of skill. He was sitting directly behind and to the left of the young girls at the table, a simple thing of water in his hands as he sipped without much thought to where his eyes wandered, and wander they did. From table to table, drawing little attention to himself. He was a fairly standard looking man, if not a bit odd since he was almost never seen outside of his banded mail armor.

Across his back was a short spear, with a shield still strapped to his left forearm. He didn't say or do much of anything, and as his eyes wandered he watched the strange young lady talk to a battered little blonde girl. It wasn't anything unusual, really, but the general feeling the dark haired woman gave off set Malkur on edge.

The glint of her 'fangs' didn't help anyway, to say the least. Like the rest of the tavern, he watched her with steady eyes. No doubt many of the patrons wished her gone, or worse; but Malkur was simply curios. Feeling bold he rose to his feet and strode over toward the table, boots clanking against the floor as his armor moved with his body perfectly, he didn't bother with long winded introductions or waiting to be invited, he merely drew a chair from a nearby table and slide it to the left side, placing the back of the chair forward and sitting spread leg on it, placing his left shield arm over the arched back and setting his chin on it.

He looked at the young fanged girl and made soft chuckle sound, placing himself into the conversation without much care for the rudeness he suddenly showed. "Name's Malkur, I noticed you were gettin quite the attention lass, so I came to give ya even more; yeah?" His voice rang out, tipping his head to the blonde girl after speaking to the darker haired Kelvic; though he was unaware of such a fact. His smile only widened with each passing second, and after speaking he turned his eyes toward the bar wench whom was a bit further off now no doubt.

"Oi, 'ow bout anutha water for me, yeah?"

His speech was distinctly informal, almost dirty and low bred in nature. His voice was light, not high pitched but more gentle then one would expect from such an armored man. It showed his inexperience, his youth. He looked like a warrior, but he lacked scars and any real sign of battles; he was all flare and no substance or perhaps just inexperienced.

A single gloved hand came down against Malkur's shoulder plate,
leather fingertips rapping lightly upon the banded mail armor. A
lone eyebrow rose upon the rogue's features in a questioning
manner, slowly walking beside the shorter man. He had arrived
moments ago, quietly as usual, and his presence was probably not
a surprise to the roughed-up woman sitting at the table. He
slipped by the armored fellow with an amused smile, casting his
azure gaze slowly over his five and a half foot frame while
positioning himself behind Nydryn's chair.

"Expecting a war?...," he asked with obvious mirth. A blackened
hand moved over Nydryn's small shoulder and two detailed cards
dropped softly in front of her upon the table.

The card on the left was black in color, with a variety of
menacing red eyes staring at whoever viewed it. The card on the
right was more vivid and beautifully colored to mimic the scene
of a tranquil forest. His attention had already moved away from
Malkur, his comment more of a joke than a question needing an
answer. The dark silk of his expensive shirt was damp from the
day before, long sleeves rolled upward to mid bicep.

A shifty glance was given to the other female that also sat at
the rounded table, just before crossing his corded arms across
the back of Nydryn's chair. He lowered himself with an arc of
his back, leaning comfortably forward behind the his lovely
friend. Another quick shift of his vision gave Syndre more details
of Nina's short figure. She was in her youth, dressed in somber
shades and also armored. Her eyes shimmered like precious stones
and they were difficult to ignore, but the thief managed.

"Quite the company you keep Ny...," his whispered traveled along
side Nydryn's ear so that only she could hear his mocking words.
His examining blue eyes gave Malkur a second look, a bit of easily
viewed arrogance displayed upon the rogue's handsome countenance.
He had some questions for Nydryn, but before they he pried the
golden haired woman for answers, he was curious about this little
gathering in the tavern.

Nydryn was taken out of her personal thoughts when the girl had first approached. She said her name was Nina and Nydryn didn’t mind the girl’s presence, and was just about to introduce herself when a man walked up. Seating himself at her table, both him and the girl seemed to want some company. He said his name was Malkur. After coming back from the wilderness, Nydryn was not keen on having people near her and two seemed like a lot.

The girl’s eyes were magnificent, and she was dressed in lightweight armor. Judging by her features, Nydryn assumed she was younger than herself. The man was dressed in armor as well, and he looked ready to battle. His intimidation wore off on her because of his height… he was only a bit taller than herself by the looks of it. The two didn’t seem to know each other. “I’m Nydryn” she said, her voice stronger than she felt.

Then Syndre approached. She had sort of been expecting him, and his presence was, somehow, calming. He dropped the two cards on the table in front of her, and she saw the cards that he had predicted her future with earlier. The cards, together, meant that there would be danger in the wilderness, and Nydryn realized what he was trying to say. She had gone out in the wilderness outside of Ravok originally to travel to Sunberth, but it ended up as a battle against Yukeman. That had been the danger in the wilderness.

Nydryn’s small, pale hands quickly grabbed the cards off the table. She loved how beautiful they were, but she didn’t want the woman or the other man to see them. “Syndre” Nydryn greeted her friend with a nod. The silence around the table was awkward, and Nydryn was beginning to feel uncomfortable. She had come into the tavern to simply relax, and now it seemed that she was drawing in all sorts of people.

“I’m going to go check on the drinks…” Nydryn said, her eyes uneasy, “It’s taking a while.” While standing, Nydryn slipped the two cards that she was holding in her hand back into Syndre’s, meeting his eyes for a few brief seconds. Walking over to the bar, Nydryn sighed in relief. She always felt trapped with so many people around her. Her bright blue eyes glanced around and landed at the table she had come from. Finding the barmaid, Nydryn grabbed her drink and stood at the bar, sipping the ale and thinking about what she should do next. It was the polite thing to go back to the table, and apologize for leaving, even though the time had been brief. She still didn’t want to continue feeling trapped, but her bag was back at the table. She cursed and the barmaid glanced at her.
