I Come Bearing Gifts! [Nida, Sel]

If Nida had been in her leopard form, her tail would have been flicking back and forth. The prey had been spotted, and was drawing closer by the second. Until Luke finished talking, she kept her slitted eyes on his lovely human ones, the corner of her mouth moving upwards slightly in a crooked grin.

But the tension between them was abruptly broken as Seliarus ruffled her hair. There was something altogether different about the two of them, that Luke would have surely noticed. The day before, they had moved around one another cautiously, protectively. Obviously very close, but there had still been barriers. Now it was different, any fool could see that. The gravitational pull between the Bondmates was stronger, she automatically adjusted her position in accordance with his every movement. Seliarus acted more affectionate. It was obvious that, either something had happened, or something strange was at work here. But how could Luke know about the Bond's strength?

But the only part that affected the human would be the Bondmates' considerable good humor today.

Nida leaned against his hand, as a cat would do, and sighed softly, the sound coming out like a purr. Obviously Luke wasn't a part of this, but neither Kelvic nor Dhani cared about what Luke thought. As long as he didn't kill them.

"We'll have your back, if you watch ours," grinned Nida, turning her attention back to Luke. "Well, obviously I'm not a 'man'. But those tales weren't so tall. There aren't that many of us, though we do exist. And shapeshifting is, indeed, a part of it." Her smile showed her long fangs, transforming her foreign-looking visage into something altogether inhuman. It was part of her answer, since humans always seemed to need some sort of physical proof.

Well, his assumption was correct. He wanted someone to call a friend, or, should we say, companion, to watch over him. Of course, logical as it was, the Dhani wouldn't believe that earlier. Strange, how this human managed to dig around in his mind, and made his hate lessen. He's still going to despite every other human he'll see, he had no doubt in that, but, Luke, he did seemed like an alright man. Seem, yes. He was no mind reader. He could probably not know what is going on in his head. If he's lying? If every word is a lie spoken to make the two accept the human? Maybe.

But then again, betrayal was one thing he did fear. It's hard trusting someone, just to get told you were used, and then left alone. Hmm, well, if that would happen, Sel would make sure his new gift does it's job well. He'll make sure that Siku finds a new plaything. His thoughts slipping on the hill they were the day before, but, instead of the sailor, Luke would lie there. A faint grin appearing on his lips as that happened. Yes, the Dhani will not be betrayed. He'll make sure of that.

But, the imagine quite soon disappeared, and Sel found himself in the tavern once more. The grin fainting, as he looked at Luke. But, if he'd look carefully, he could note that the early hate, or anger, in his eyes, weren't there. His coal black eyes scoping the man one last time. He'd nod at him. Maybe without words, but, even a child could understand what that did mean. Of course, let it be like that. Let him protect their backs, and they will do the same. It's not a bad thing getting an ally. Specially, if the said person is capable of fighting. He thought about that before, but, now he wasn't the only one. His Bondmate agreed on that as well. So, why not give it a try.
"Who knows? Life is like a roll on the dice. You can’t know if something is a good, or a bad roll until it already happened."

I Come Bearing Gifts! [Nida, Sel]

Postby Luke Lammergeier on March 22nd, 2011, 7:33 am

Luke was excited about the idea of having allies so soon. Although when Nida flashed her wickedly long fangs he tried not to grimace. It was just one more show that she wasn't human and in fact very deadly. He had never fought a Kelvic and he didn't plan to.

Even if he was a little bit freaked out. Luke was still interested in the idea of a shape shifting Kelvic race. He didn't want to pester just yet with questions though. Ir would seem rude to start asking personal things.

“That is great news to hear. Now that we have a good understanding I feel a lot better in this awful city.” He was smiling but tried to keep his enthusiasm down. Both of them didn't seem all that friendly. Im sure their race had reasons to be mistrusting. A shape shifting humanoid would sell good in a slave market. Besides even if they “said” they would have his back. He couldn't trust it til push comes to shove.

“If you don't mind me asking. What are two people such as yourself doing in Zelvita? It's not the most interesting place in the world and it's hard as hell to get into the place.” He wondered this a few times but knew how dangerous it would be to ask someone you hardly knew what they were doing. Hell he still didn't fully want to risk this but it seemed safe enough at the time.

Also beyond that Luke was very suspicious if they were only in the area to feed on people or whatever they did to the sailor. He had no intentions on ending up the same way and needed to know if these people could be trusted.
