Why are Charoda so unpopular?

You're right except for the 6 hours thing. The wiki is pretty inspecific and it just says like a period of time or something really vague like that.

Just sticking my beak in as the Charodaen creator.

Charoda are bloody weird things to play, particularly in a world like Mizahar. There's all sorts of things under the sea that are particularly dangerous, and they have their way of handling them.

Charbosi really needs to be developed, because their hometown is really closed off to others.

I think, though, when I get the city developed, more people will have interest in them for play.

But yes... the avatar/playby is probably the hardest part of them. >.>

Figured I'd chime in as a Charoda player.

Acanthus, thanks for the idea of using Hero Machine! I can't believe I hadn't thought of that before.

As for the going about land I've put some thought into it, as Quelen plans on going to most every city in Mizahar at some point, and my plan was to simply get a wagon with a tub/container and lots of water since it's just a problem of drying out, and not actually needing water to breath.

Actually, I saw this thread on my other account and it spurred me to create my own Charoda. (I'd been planning on it, but was new to Mizahar and wanted a race with a little more IC history c: )

I want to make a Charoda, but the idea I have isn't really appropriate without the okay of the DS and whatnot. And since I'm a lazy little seal...

Basically either an evil character in a secret society that wants to return the race to it's former ferocity, or an evil one that wants to sink the continent. So, yeah, very out of character from the race description in either case. I just can't bring myself to make something that conforms to the racial profile.
