[The Bizarre] Another Encounter [Seidaku]

Sinsa nodded as she listened to him talk of his parents, her chest tightening as she thought of the possibilities of what might have been if her parents had been around.

She swallowed against the lump in her throat and smiled slightly as he laughed. The girl nodded and said, "Your mother sounds like a good woman."

She brushed her hair back from her face and looked up at him, the murmured, "Well, um, thank you for the food, and...telling me about your parents." She took a couple hesitant steps back, then darted into the crowds once again, rubbing at the tears threatening to escape her eyes.

"Oh, you're, umm," his smile melted into a look of confusion as the girl darted away and vanished into the crowd, "Welcome."

Seidaku stared into the crowd where the girl had disappeared. What a strange child.

After a chime, he finally shrugged and clutched his sheaf of parchment to his chest so as not to lose it. He then tucked his shoulders and pushed his way through the crowd toward home.

Notes:

Seidaku, subtract your gold and add your new items if you have not already. Take one golds off the top of that to pay for the food.

Sinsa, try to put line breaks between your paragraphs. You did this most of the time but when you didn’t it was easy to spot. It’s hard to read when everything is all clumped together. Also, next time you break something like that vase you should remember that that sort of thing is generally worth something around ten gold mizas if it was cheap and functional, more if it was an actual piece of artwork. Whoever made it would normally be out for blood.

I am not sure that the streets of the city would ever turn into something that hard to walk on. Many variations of hard and relatively flat yes . . . but probably not sweet cakes for the same reason that the air does not randomly turn to water and drown everybody.
