Summer 2 511

As Jason followed the Hahk’Shatara from the stair case, we was met with awe as he looked at the city in the trees. This is my dream, the researching and cataloging and just the pure study of the plants here could take a life time, was a thought that passed through his mind. His guide turned on him and spoke with a deep and almost slow tone, “I shall show you the major parts of the city, and then I will allow you to roam free. Be aware that you are being watched, always. And he turned and began walking once more.

They walked for at least five minutes if not longer to an into what appeared to be a “tier” within the city, he led him to a what appeared to be a hallowed tree, Jason followed the Jamoura into the building, the Grath’s Rest it was called, the local inn and tavern. The Hahk’Shatara introduced Jason to Grath the Owner of the inn.

“A pleasure to meet you Grath, I assume I shall have to return to to take up a room, until I can find a more longer place of lodging” Jason said with a smile, as Grath returned “We will have the evening meal ready by the 7th chime, if you’re interested.”

From there the pair walked to another area, this time filled with what appeared to be sell stalls, each selling a different type of food. A rumble was heard and Jason looked down realizing how hungry he was. He would have to return to retrieve some supplies, the Hahk’Shatara explains to him that the Jamoura require no such place, but with the many travelers coming through, those Jamoura who wish to travel require Miza to complete their travels. He turned and began walking and Jason looked back towards the stall and then started to follow the Jamoura once more.

They walked to what seemed to Jason as fifteen to twenty minutes but he realized they were moving “tiers” within the city.

“This is the upper Petal; all our more important structures remain here. This building in front of us is the Nature Nurture for those of the travelers that require medical attention or in turn wish to learn my people’s way at medicine. For here I shall leave you for the time being human, feel free to do as you wish within the city. But remember you are being watched," said the Jamoura.

He turned and left, Jason looked back at the Nurture, here he would have to visit. But first to explore a bit more..

Wandering the City (Open)

Postby Greth on June 16th, 2011, 10:12 am

Greth awoke after a long sleep. He opened his eyes, and saw that the Sun was near to setting. He slowly got up and straightened his clothes.

He took a look around his cottage. He hadn't been able to take much of a look when he had arrived the last day, but now he was more awake. He blinked sleepily, and stepped out for a breath of fresh air. Besides, he was hungry too.

As Greth stepped out into the dwindling sunshine, he might have noticed all the curious stares he was receiving. After all, he was a Jamoura wearing clothes after all. A very rare and comical event in Spires. A few of the younger and more ornery Jamoura began laughing loudly and pointing at Greth, much to his embarrassment. One of them climbed down to him and stuck out his chest, "What we have here, is a human pretending to be one of us I think?"

Another climbed down, "I think it's a Jamortan, like from the folk tales. A horrifying offspring of a Jamoura and a human."

A third chimed in, "Perhaps it's a novice shapeshifter?"

The first one, clearly the leader and the larger of the three, "You look ridiculous in your human clothes. Let us assist you."

The three attacked in sync with each other. But they didn't harm their fellow Jamoura, but rather ripped away the foreign clothing from Greth's hairy frame. They laughed loudly and ran off with his torn clothing hoping he'd give chase. And Greth did. Greth chased the youths over several Petals until he watched them drop his torn clothing in front of a human outside of Nature's Nurture. As they departed, they yelled, "Clothes are for humans!" They then disappeared into the city.

Greth began wandering toward his clothes and the human, his embarrassment, now increased at a foreigner having to witness such an act.

WarningGreth your post was too short, and didn't provide enough detail for Jason to work with. This intervention is to get the story moving along. I highly recommend you write more in your posts or stories will go nowhere. This is your only warning, after this the post will be deleted and I will send you a PM. Thank you and please continue your story.

As Jason turned to head and explore the city some more, hopefully looking for a place to start his research, after walking a few paces he looks at the tree closest to him. It has one of the most beautiful flowers growing up a vine down the side of the tree. Walking over to the flower he looks over the petal loving the color of purple and white, as he reaches to touch it, he hears noises heading his way. Looking to his right, back down the street, he notices a group of Jamoura heading his way, four by his counts with one chasing after them. Preparing for the worst, Jason prepares to release the res that will allow him to defend himself. But as they get closer they drop what appears to be cloth in front of him and run a way laughing, or what Jason thinks is laughing. The Jamoura who was chasing them, seeming like he was either very sad or embarrassment or both walked up to where is cloth was dropped, right in front of him. Jason bent down to help him out, grabbing a piece and realized it was what remained of clothing, what an odd thought: Jamoura in clothes, he stood up and offered it to the Jamoura.

Once the “cloths” were given back to the Jamoura, Jason looked him over. He was still bigger than Jason but he wasn’t sure what it was, but something was off.

"Hi there I am Jason, son of Marcus and Elizabeth. I have came to you wonderful city in research for knowledge, teaching, and a place for research. But as of right now, I am looking for a center of learning, a school, library or anything of that sort. Do you know where I could find one or you guide me to one?” Jason still nervous asking the Jamoura this question.

One thing he will never get used to is the size and intelligence of this wonderful “people”. They could out think Jason in anyway, and if it came to a fight, he would never make it out alive. Hopefully the stories of the Jamoura being peaceful are true, one way or another he will find out. Once he looks back over to the flower, remembering the spot that he found it, so later he can come back with his books and study it closer.

Greth looked down at the offered piece of cloth, took it, considered it for a moment, then dropped it, letting it drift away on the gentle breeze. He still seemed preoccupied for a few seconds, then he blinked slowly, coming to the present moment and noticing the expression on the human's face.

“I'm Greth,” he said, in that slow, deliberate tone his kind had. He seemed to be thoughtful, which slowed his talking even more. “Don't look at me like that,” he said defensively, “I was just trying to find out how wearing clothes felt.” It seemed like the most lame reason he could offer, but he didn't want to voice any truths to the stranger. He just wanted to see that boggling look wiped off his face. It embarrassed him even more.

“I am not from here,” he said in answer to his question, “but we can go together and try to find it. I for one am quite curious to see more of the city. What do you think?”

Jason watched as the big Jamouran took what remained of his cloths away from him, then looked slightly confused as he dropped the cloth into the wind and watched it blow away.

“I’m Greth” said the Jamouran in their usual slow and thoughtout words, “Don’t look at me like that.” He also said something about what it felt like to wear close.

Jason learned that Greth wasn’t from the Spires and was too seeking to explore the city, Jason wasn’t sure if this Greth were to be a good travel partner, but he would like company exploring the city and keeping from getting lost, also he could use the time to both learn and teach the Jamouran in hope to bring more light into some subjects.

"I am sorry, I did not mean to embarrass or offend you friend. But the thought of a mighty Jamouran in clothing is very interesting to me. I would like to seek out the buildings and explore the city with you. Maybe talk about some subjects that interest us both along the way, yes?” answered Jason with both honesty and hope in his voice.

Hopefully this Jamouran was a bit different from the rest and would open himself and his knowledge a little easier than most of his kind, he would soon find out.

Wandering the City (Open)

Postby Greth on June 21st, 2011, 5:26 am

Greth considered the offer. Well, he made himself appear as though he was considering. Being as adventurous as he was, the thought of exploring the city was just perfect to him. He hadn't ever seen a city this big. He couldn't, prior to this day, think that a whole city could be built based on trees. He knew, like the stories of the past that he had heard, something might attack this city. However, he was going to be one of the first in line to defend it. He hadn't learned to hunt just to hide in a tree, after all. Well... the main reason he learned to hunt was the thrill of it; the rush of adrenaline as he sneaked behind his pray, the self-confidence that came with beingtotally camouflaged in the forest. But now that he thought of it, he realized that his hunting abilities could have some good uses too. He put the fact away in his mind for later inspection. For now, this to-be-companion of his was waiting for his response.

“Certainly,” he said, nodding slightly, intentionally not answering the comment about a Jamoura in clothes, with words that were to the point. He didn't quite know what this man was going to talk to him about, but whatever it was, he hoped he could help. Well. He would. He grinned inwardly as the thrill of exploring the city set in.

OOCSorry this one is short, I am low on time and wished to post so that you do not have to wait on me. :) cheers
Jason smiled as the Jamouran agreed to travel the city with him,

“Very well, let us begin our trek, shall we?” He asked.

As he finished he stepped back and started towards the upper tier, if there was a center of learning this would be where it was located.

“Well my friend, if you are not from here where are you from? I mean I believed all Jamourans stayed within the Spires?” Asked Jason with curiosity.

Looking back waiting for an answer, many things floating through his mind, depending on how this Greth answered his questions, many things could happen here today. Maybe Jason would have a new friend?

Wandering the City (Open)

Postby Greth on June 24th, 2011, 3:23 pm

Greth considered this for a moment, pursing his lower lip in thought. Despite his height, he was quite lightfooted like most of his race, so he walked easily on the platform, just beside his human companion.

“First of all, my name is Greth,” he said. He hated it when he forgot to introduce himself, so these days he just introduced himself at the earliest opportunity.

“Yes, most of the Jamoura live here,” he agreed, “but not all. There are still some more Jamoura living in the surrounding forests. Some are moving towards the Spires, and some still prefer to stay where they are. As I hear though, nearly everyone is moving this way.”

He stopped as he got to the ladder leading to the upper tier, and glancing back at his companion, asked, “how come you came here? Have you come here recently?”

"Yes my friend, you introduced yourself a few moments ago” Answered Jason with a smile and a happy tone.

But as Greth continued to talk, he listened. The news of him not being from around here was quiet new to him, but at the fact that there are others from all parts of Mizahar. Then came the questions that Greth wised to know from Jason.

"Very interesting, I have never met a Jamouran in person. I read about them one, but to answer your questions. I am here to research, study, and learn, my art form is openly accepted in my towns and cities. I have came here for you and your people are understanding and are willing to look past the action to see what is to learn from it. As for how long, I have been here only a only a day,” As Jason finished.

He looked back toward the latter and began his short climb up, once reaching the top.

"I would love to find it with and explore the city."

And he waited on his new friend to meet him where he stood.
