A Morning Hunt (Atyvn)

Through the Bond, she could feel what Atyvn felt. It was a curious emotion, and since he did not seem to understand it himself, the Kelvic could not place it either. They had not been Bonded for a huge amount of time, it had only happened late in the previous season, and so there were still things they were learning. Renaria could usually feel his emotions quite strongly, and she was pretty sure that he could feel hers most of the time too. She had heard tales that thoughts could be sent through the Bond too, like silent talking, though she had yet to experience that.

Atyvn's snow hit her shoulder and she danced round, swiping playfully at his leg. She made sure not to hit him though, since he would likely bruise; her paws were rather large. She shook the snow off her coat, nudged her nose gently into his side again and set off toward the trees. She kept to an easy, loping pace so the he could walk beside her without struggling.

The treeline soon approached them, and the leopard steeped under the canopy, rounded ears flicking up atop her head. Her keen eyes scanned the area before them, and she roughly shook her head to indicate they were alone. It seemed they would have to go deeper.

Atyvn smiled up at her and shrugged. "Ah well, let's keep going." he responded. At first, it was a bit odd to understand what she meant without words because he felt what she was trying to say sometimes, though they weren't actual words coming across the bond; they were more like suggestions. It was cool to have something like that with someone and especially with someone you cared about like he cared for Renaria.

He didn't particularly care if they caught anything or not, he just enjoyed being with Ren and letting his thoughts grasp his love for her. Though, since she had been hunting with him, the success rate of him bringing furs and meat back to Avanthal was much higher. He wasn't a skilled hunter, but Renaria was nature's hunter and he admired that. And because of that, he normally let her led him during hunts.

The pair soon came into view of the tree-line and the snow leopard stopped. She turned and waited for Atyvn to catch up with her, before giving him a look. Her eyes were big and wide - she was telling him to be careful. She knew that he would be, but when they were hunting she always worried. Most of the animals were bigger than herself, so they were huge to Aty as a human.

Another nudge to his side and they stepped into the trees. She wove between branches, tail flicking behind her, and all the while her ears darted this-way-and-that atop her head. She caught a rustle nearby, but it turned out to be nothing more than a bird taking flight.

She led Atyvn deeper into the trees, checking all the while that he hadn't got caught on a branch or tripped over a root; making sure he was still right there with her. A little clearing opened up before them, and she paused at its edge. Keep eyes scoured the trees on the other side, and a quick jerk of her head was given to tell Aty that something was there.
OOCSorry it took me ages! And feel free to control whatever creature is waiting for them (:

Atyvn nodded to her which served as him confirming he knew something was there and also that she could investigate if she wanted. He had an odd feeling about the clearing, not odd as in foreign, but odd as in familiarity. He couldn't place his thoughts on why though, so he tried to dismiss it even though it lingered around the edges of his mind.

Be careful Ren... he thought, even though he knew she would, but he didn't know if he could protect her if something happened. As much as it seemed backwards, he couldn't deny that four out of five situations it would be Ren saving him from danger.

That nagging feeling returned about the clearing. He knew this place, but he didn't know how! He hadn't been here before had he? He didn't normally hunt this way so by all reasons it should be slightly foreign, but it wasn't.

A form evaded his sight between the trees and brush, but he caught one small glimpse. A wolf's tail. At that point right then, he realized where they were at and fear crept into his mind. He could barely think straight, but his eyes widened as that went to the spot he was at years ago.

OOCBah... I wrote weird, I think.

A Morning Hunt (Atyvn)

With another quick glance at Atyvn, Renaria took a single step forward. Her eyes narrowed as she focused on the area she had sensed movement. She tipped her head back slightly and inhaled, a deep gulp of air rushing through her nose. It was laced with the stench of wolf.

She tried to block out the nagging feeling in her mind. It wasn’t her, it was Atyvn. Something was troubling him about the hunt. No, it was the place. Perhaps he was just uneasy about what could happen. That must be it. Renaria hunkered down, tail flicking out behind her. She took another step, her paws practically silent as they hit the snow.

She stumbled.

Out of nowhere, fear had enveloped her mind. Atyvn had seen the wolf and something had triggered in him. Whatever it was, it had shot straight through the bond to Renaria. The feeling of fear emanating from him was so strong that she could barely think straight. She struggled against it, but until Atyvn calmed himself down it was all she could do to stop herself tearing from the clearing.

Not even a second had passed since she had slipped. A deep growl sounded through the trees opposite. The wolf lurking there had obviously been alerted by her mistake. She back-stepped quickly to stand beside her Bondmate, her shoulder leaning on him. He had to calm down, he had to loose the fear or else neither of them would get out unscathed.
