A Morning Hunt (Atyvn)

20th Summer, 511AV

Renaria awoke to the morning sunlight filtering through the windows of the Skyglow Hold. She could hear people moving around in other parts of the building, but their noises were muffled and otherwise quiet. Quiet… It was too quiet. She slowly opened her eyes and sat up, pausing for a brief moment until the initial grogginess had disappeared. She blinked and looked around the room, immediately noting the absence of Atyvn. She sighed before standing up and fishing around for something to wear.

After pulling on nothing more but a simple cotton dress and cloak she made her way out of the Hold. Yes, she was probably going to get cold pretty fast, but she wasn’t planning on staying human for long enough. She had seen that Atyvn’s bow was missing, so she headed to the Archery Range in full confidence that he would be there. She wasn’t wrong. She paused a few feet behind him and watched as he strung an arrow, aimed and fired. She tilted her head to watch the arrows movements through the air, before returning her attentions to her Bondmate. When she was sure that he was not going to fire another, she crept up behind him, making sure that her footfalls were as silent as she could manage. When she drew close enough, she threw her arms round his neck from behind, practically jumping on him.

”Morning Aty!” She nuzzled her nose into the back of his neck before she slackened her hold enough for him to be able turn around if he wanted to. He would be greeted with a beaming smile, that meant she was both happy to see him and pleased that her ambush had worked.

A Morning Hunt (Atyvn)

Atyvn had just set down his bow when the slight presence made itself known as his bondmate, Renaria. He steadied himself slightly to adjust to the girl's jump on him and his lips pulled into a smile at her nuzzle. He had been training here for some time, hoping to catch Maenes so she would teach him. There was still no sign of that happening at the moment though.

"Morning, little one. How are you?" he said warmly as he turned to see the pale blond haired girl he had grown so fond of. "Good, I trust?" He didn't question how she found him this early, but it was pretty obvious at how many times he had been going to the range recently. He had felt his skill with a bow was lagging substantially so he was working to get better. He envied the instructor here a bit in the fact that they were the same age but she was far more skilled with her short bow than he. He was aiming to change that. He gave Ren a quick, soft kiss when he felt the need to do so, which was frequent.

OOCThe shortness nor the pun were intended.

A Morning Hunt (Atyvn)

Renaria was still smiling when he turned around, her arms still looped round his neck. She looked up into his grey-blue eyes and paused for a moment, becoming lost in their depths. She then nodded.

"Mhm." A soft purr built up inside of her at his kiss, and she responded with another of her own. Her feet were starting to tingle slightly from the cold since she had ventured out with no shoes. But she didn't particularly care at this moment, for Atyvn held her complete attention. She looked round his shoulder at the archery target. "Still practicing?" She understood how he wanted to improve at the bow, but she didn't realize just how much until now. It was usually her who was up first, not him, so he must be truly dedicated.

She then pressed her face into his warm shoulder. "Hey Aty, want to go hunting?" She pulled away slightly and looked back up at him with soft, pleading eyes. A tiny smile twitched at the corner of her mouth, since she knew that he wouldn't be able to say no to such an expression.

A smile tore at his lips as his looked into those pleading eyes. He couldn't help but smile and cave to the kelvic that not too long ago he had accepted a bond with. "Of course, Ren." he said and hugged her tight to lift her from the ground. When he set her back down, he noticed she wore no shoes and he made a face at her. "Did you really walk here barefoot?"

It wasn't that he thought she would get frostbite before she would change to her kelvic form, but the thought still nagged him. He had grown very protective over her, but not to the extremes of overbearing. He just worried sometimes about small things such as that and he knew she knew that. He just didn't want to see harm brought upon her by any means. He released her from his grasp to start to clean up the area he had been using.

The smile that had been tugging at her lips broke, and she grinned up at him. She wasn't expecting to be lifted right off the ground, and she involuntarily tightened her grip round his neck again. She took a tiny step back when he set her down again, looking round his shoulder at the range once more.

"Hmm?" She looked down at her feet, and then back up at Atyvn. "Oh, yes." She gave a light laugh at the expression on his face. "It's fine Aty, you worry too much!" Her smile softened, and she moved to watch him tidy the range. After a few moments she pulled her cloak off and looped it over the closest tree. She rocked back on her heels for a moment, waiting for Atyvn to finish up. She wanted to shift before they left the city, since the journey out would be enough time to warm up.

"I don't worry too much on my own! You make me worry." he said, raising his voice, but in one of his most playful tones. He never was this way with anyone else except Ren. He remembered his mom told him a few days ago that he was almost a totally different person around Ren. "Well, at least a totally different person than when you are around me!" he remembered her saying.

Once he had replaced his bow and quiver on his shoulder, he turned to Ren and took a step or two towards her and reached for her cloak. "Want me to put your clothes in my bag? I took some stuff out at home before I came this morning." Like the equipment for his tent. He always carried it around when he left Avanthal just in case some odd circumstance forced him to camp out. That had never happened of course, but he was cautious about it anyway. He hadn't planned on hunting today, but he would never turn Ren down.

A Morning Hunt (Atyvn)

Postby Renaria on June 27th, 2011, 9:14 pm

Renaria raised an eyebrow, grinned and poked her tongue out at him. She worried about him too, of course. Though she never voiced any of those thoughts since the bond usually did that for her.

She watched as Atyvn reached for her cloak and untangled it from the tree she had flung it over. "Well... only if it wont make your bag too heavy." She didn't quite understand why he took so much stuff out with him, but she supposed it was always better to err on the side of caution.

Without so much as looking round for any passersby, she shrugged off her dress and held it out to him. As soon as he took the garment from her, tiny beads of light would appear over her slender frame. Her shift was smooth, the beads of light appearing to dissolve her body and reform it into the much larger shape of her snow leopard self. It was quick, almost instantaneous, but was still a spectacle nonetheless. She stepped over to Atyvn, closing the gap, and gently nudged her nose into his stomach, signaling she was ready to go whenever he was.

Atyvn shook his head with a soft gaze. "It wouldn't make it too heavy, I took some things out earlier. And even if it did..." he let his voice fade before his always peaking curiosity came. It was just the incredible abilities his bondmate possessed. He knew it was her being, like his ever-changing eyes were to him, but it did put a sliver of envy in his heart. He sometimes longed to be able to turn into an animal of the wilds on a whim throughout an entire day and often a few days at times. He knew his fascination at her ability to change only stemmed from his wanting to be as such, but that was not entirely true; He was human after all.

He shoved the thoughts aside for another time of private quarters and looked down to her with a wide, soft smile. He started folding her clothes smaller to fit them easily into his bag and slung the strap over his head to rest against his collar bone. "Shall we be off then, love?" he said, looking to her eyes to bathe them in his cool gaze and he gently stroked her head.

A Morning Hunt (Atyvn)

Postby Renaria on July 6th, 2011, 10:01 pm

As she shifted, she could sense Atyvn's emotions changing through the bond. She could feel his awe at the transformation, and there was something else beneath that, but she couldn't quite pick it up. She supposed they hadn't been bonded for quite long enough to be able to pick up on the finer emotions just yet.

Her silvery eyes met his blue ones, and she gently leaned her head into his hand. A soft purr worked its way up her throat, and she blinked at him before pulling away to turn. She started to walk forwards, in the direction of the city gates, waiting for Atyvn to fall into step beside her. As they reached the glittering gates and passed through them, her step changed. It became lighter as she embraced more of her feline self. She quickened her pace, heading for the treeline a little way off, but still keeping slow enough so that her Bondmate wound not get left behind. She ran circles round him, unable to resist the fun at having a play, covering his trousers with snow.

A Morning Hunt (Atyvn)

Postby Atyvn on August 10th, 2011, 6:07 pm

Atyvn laughed at her play and he shook the snow that was starting to cling to his clothing. He bent his legs on some steps so he could scoop up some snow and throw it at the feline. A feeling entered his heart, but it felt like it was always there. He couldn't quite describe the feeling, he knew it was of his love for this person he spent his days with now, but it was beyond his comprehension. He was about to start making balls of the snow in his hands and throw them at her, but he knew he would get toppled over in a pounce if he hit her with one squarely enough. The thought made his smile widen though.

He would worry about hunting when it came time, simply because Ren would pick up on something before he would, and he was distracted in any case. He did not care about simple things that much anymore since his mind revolved around the kelvic most of the time. Only when she wasn’t around him did his self-hatred rear its head, but it was growing subtly smaller by the day.
