Physical Description

Marlow is of medium height and a slender build. His olive skin is tanned and shows signs of sun-weathering. He wears his dark brown hair long and usually tied back in a pony-tail or tucked under a bandanna. His nose is broad and framed by bright baby blue eyes.

Marlow walks with the rolling gait common to those who sail the seas.

Character Concept

Amnesiac.

Marlow is on the mend from nearly drowning and doesn't have any memories of his life before he was found on the beach. His gait and weathered features hint of a life at sea, but beyond that it's all a blank.

He's trying to make sense of what has happened to him and why.

Unknown, even to him, is the fact that he is a Svefra. He does not have Gnosis Marks, Pod tattoos, or a Tavan. Why this is so is part of his past that is locked away.

Marlow was born Larch Haar of the Haar Pod. While Laviku did make an appearance upon his birth, as is common to most Svefra, it was not to mark him. Rather, it was to give instructions to the Lia of the pod that the boy was not to be marked by any pod tattoos. When asked how Marlow was to be identified as a Svefra, Laviku merely said that he knows all of his children whether or not they were marked. And so it came to be that Larch Haar never had an Oceanus mark or pod tattoos.

Marlow was found half-drowned on the shores of Zeltiva. Marlow isn't even his real name, just the name given to him by those who nursed him back to health. When he asked about the name they laughed and said "It means driftwood."
