Considered one of the most mysterious cities in Mizahar, Alvadas is called The City of Illusions. It is the home of Ionu and the notorious Inverted. This city sits on one of the main crossroads through The Region of Kalea.

Raw meat? That shouldn't be too hard although Jamisia was worried what would the innkeeper think of her. The healer stood up, when the Dhani fell asleep peacefully. He looked feverish but it didn't seem to harm him. Again that strange ambivalence crept into her mind. Bones was a Dhani, more than likely a killer but on the other hand no one before had been so protective of her to the point of saving her life. Maybe once...But generally Jamisia had been taught to always take care of herself, because simply there was no one else around, unless you used creative ways to convince someone to help you. Suddenly there is this inhuman creature, selflessly fighting for her safety. He was a damn a Dhani after all, that is not how the world looked like. His species hunted humans, humans were afraid of them and everyone was out for themselves.

Jamisia just shook her head and went to look for some clothes to change. The simple dress would do, since her fancy one was lsying in pieces, half of it eaten by rats. The woman cursed and left the room, still fighting with this new experience. Her caretaker once had said Jamisia's mood and thoughts were like a pearl, always changing colors. Emotions came and went in sudden waves, shaping her personality to be a an unsettled sea. It was no different this time. When she closed the doors behind her, Bones seemed like a good creature she had unfairly judged, but when she was dragging a rather big and expensive piece of lamb back, the Dhani seemed like a troublesome snake with some ulterior motive. On the other hand when Jamisia saw him upon her return, sleeping like a human being would , all covered in wounds, she could feel guilt mixed with worry only to be replaced by anger at the thought she would have to feed that damn Dhani with raw meat.

"I don't even want to know what the good innkeeper thinks about me now." Jamisia complained aloud as she began to cut the meat to small pieces. "Bones!" She added sharply, to check if the Dhani was conscious. Her previous gentle side was now hidden under the veil of irritation at the raw meat. She disliked to deal with such things ironically, despite her profession. It reminded her of some old memory buried too deep for Jamisia to reach it. "I have no idea how small pieces you want. But here..." The woman pointed at the slices of raw lamb, only the realizing Bones wouldn't be able to get to them. With a heavy sigh she took few pieces and brought closer to the Dhani.

Through the Looking-Glass (Bones)

Postby Ssafirsotibones on August 5th, 2011, 5:00 pm

After drinking the liquid Jamisia had given him, he laid down in a daze. The pain in his body was so great he could not fall asleep, but his body was to wounded to let him move. So he just lay there unmoving, trying to rest.

He heard her steps as she left, and a bit later as she returned with the meat, which he could taste upon the air.

After a bit there were some sounds of chopping, and of her cutting the meat into smaller bits. As she walked over, he tried to open his mouth a bit, so that she could give him a chunk of the meat. He swallowed it without even chewing, trying not to taste the meat.

He had gotten somewhat used to the taste of it from having to eat such things in his long stay in Alvadas, as fresh stuff was hard to find. However he still had a distaste for such things that had been dead for so long... But being around humans he did as he had to...

And they loved to preserve there meat, putting seasonings on it, he preferred just plain meat, from a freshly suffocated animal... Or alive on occasion... Though not this stuff that had been dead and rotting for weeks or even months... Though that was the way humans liked it...

"Ssat... Is fine... Good... I... Will try to ressst...."
Bones is a Constrictor Dhani. He likes to eat meat. He also has some speech problems.

When he speaks, a double s (ss) means a [th] sound, that he cannot say.

A triple s (sss) means just an [s], but it is extended in his speech.

There was something unsettling about the way he swallowed the chunks of meat, it didn't take long for all the food vanishing in the Dhani's stomach. It also made her mildy angry she had to serve it like that, making her feel like some kind of servant, a fate she had wanted badly to avoid while in Ahnatep. And here she was feeding a Dhani. At least it was dead for quite a while. Jamisia would definitely refused to hunt some live stock for him. "I think it is the best you can do now." She answered but then noticed that there was only one bed, currently occupied by the snake man. There was a thought to kick the Dhani out on the floor or to another room, but that felt wrong. He was in a very bad shape and in some way Jamisia felt responsible for this.

After few moments of pondering, she went back to the innkeeper, his time asking for another straw mattress. The man looked at her oddly but agreed to lend her one for only few silver coins. Even offered her help in moving it, but Jamisia refused, fearing he would find a Dhani curled in her own bed. It was rather impossible to know Bones was really a hungry snake predator when he was sleeping like that but better safe than sorry. After what seemed like an hour struggle, the healer had a place to rest and by Yahal she needed it. Jamisia didn't even care it blocked the entrance. Her arm was killing her and eyes seemed have as if made from lead.

The woman gave Bones one last glance, like she still couldn't believe there was a Dhani in her bed and laid down, however, sleep didn't want to come, despite her weariness. From time to time her eyes would drift away to the creature now occupying her bed and fear he would eat her came back. Why would he eat her? He got lamb and is too weak to make a move? The sleep of reason awakens demons they say. After a while Jamisia gave up and fetched some herbs to let her sleep; she was safe, among fellow humans. Bones couldn't do it, why he would have saved her in the first place. On the other hand who knew the twisted mind this species could have? So alien and distant.

The herbs had done her a favor and the girl fell asleep and the sound of steady breathing from two beings filled the room.

Having eaten his bit of food, Bones was ready for some rest. He had been through a lot, and would need time to get back to full capacity. For know he finally fell asleep, which he could do for a while with the meat in his belly, from the fresh rats and the meat Jamisia had given him.

He would look over at the human, half mindlessly, and mutter
"Ssank... You", before passing out again. Then he would sleep the sleep of the dead, not moving or stirring at all.

It was common for a snake to rest for a while after eating, but with the combination of the food and the damage to him, he was going to be still for a while.

At this point the best thing to do was to just let him be, and he would heal eventually on his own.

oocSo, im not sure but I think this thread is done. Do you want to do one more post, and then we can submit it?

Very interesting thread guys! Great read, and I liked to see the transformation of Jam being fearful of the Dhani to ‘liking’ Bones. Very good character development.

On a more serious note Jam, you cannot just make up a random Inn in Alvadas. It will have to be one of the two listed on the link map. Just for future reference. Thank you for your cooperation :)

Any questions or concerns about the rewards gained please send a PM :)
