[The Stranger's Welcome] Fight Club [Sitkanis]

71.Summer.511
Evening

Vanos’ hands grew anxious without the routine of a gym. Without the routine of watching his form in a mirror as he lifted weights to strengthen and further enhance his body to prevent it from going soft and weak – to prevent it from going human-like – Vanos didn’t feel quite settled in just yet. That routine was what he lived for with his clan, his days were filled with activity, either enhancing himself or working hard with the forge. The only off time he ever really had was when he was dead asleep at night. While most Isurians took the extra steps in their lives to eat properly and make sure that they had the right amount of physical activity every day to produce strong musculature, Vanos took that a step further and planned out exactly what he had to eat and when to work out in order to maximize his time in order to keep the muscle he had at that moment and to continue growing. While in Denval, he hadn’t made any inquiries into a gym just yet but he knew that there had to be some place that the guards would have trained at in order to remain strong and capable of breaking up fights and continuing their duties; no one got anything from being lazy.

Another day of hard work at the forge left his arm still hotter than normal as he walked home towards The Stranger’s Welcome. He would sit down and have something to eat first before getting up to bed and hopefully he would have some of that good meat that he was promised by Oleg earlier in the day. Vanos wasn’t a stranger when it came to consuming beef, but something that the human had spiced on it made it taste absolutely delightful. He had just a sliver of the meat from the night before as he never quite made it home that night after his initial meeting with Jerzy and had wanted to have more of it ever since he sampled that delectable meat. Vanos hadn’t even gotten to the doors yet before he noticed two men just outside of the doors in a heated argument.

He didn’t recognize either of the men but whatever they were saying in Common was fast, heated, and filled with anger. The aggressive was at least a foot taller than the other man, who had dark hair and looked about as tough as a straw house in a windstorm. Vanos tried his best to stay out of human affairs as he didn’t understand all their customs just yet (who ever heard of a set of two days at the end of the week just to relax?) and until he understood them completely he wanted to stay out to avoid any embarrassing situations. But here was one in which it was clear what was happening, no matter what background or language one spoke it was obvious that this argument was going to escalate into something more than a mere sparring of words.

“Vhat is argument about?” Vanos asked as he looked up to the man who seemed to be breathing fire he was so angry. The question rumbled out of his throat, his emphasis on R’s a little stronger than Common called for when pronouncing them. His eyes settled on the other man as he hoped that in response to his simple question he could get a simple answer. Vanos stood between them but at least a couple feet away from being directly in the middle of the conversation. If needed Vanos was certain he could keep the other man away without a problem, unless they had something up their sleeves that Vanos would have no defence against. Though the threat of physical retaliation against Vanos, whether it was by force or by weapon, didn’t faze him as they would do nothing more than be an annoyance than a mortal threat.

[The Stranger's Welcome] Fight Club [Sitkanis]

Postby Sitkanis on August 20th, 2011, 5:45 am

Sitkanis had been chastised time and time again for coming to the Stranger's Welcome at night. Oleg never seemed to mind but he had gotten a bit of lip from others who wondered why the Ethaefal would come into the tavern and never eat or drink anything. He simply liked to watch the people eating and conversing. The Ethaefal was not terribly good at person to person interactions and even worse with conversation. It was not to say that he could not make conversation, Veldrys and Astrid could vouch for the fact that he could. He was just very choosy as to who he would talk to. His patience was short for someone who lived numerous lifetimes and had a forever left to live in this life. This is why when a man approached him and let out a small joke at the Ethaefal's expense Sitkanis had not missed a beat before fighting back. The son of Leth seemed to have no issue finding trouble, even when there was none.

Sitkanis did not like that he had gotten himself into such a situation at night. He was shorter and so much less intimidating in his nightly form. This did not stop him from trying to be intimidating though. He glared up at the man, his lilac eyes locked in a menacing glare. "What I do with my free time is none of your petching business." He would have let the fight escalate but a voice cut through the verbal fray. It was accented in a way that Sitkanis had not heard before. His attention turned to see a man even shorter than him standing beside him and his verbal opponent. "I don't need help from some random person off the streets and I don't need to explain myself to one either." His lilac eyes burned into Vanos. While he did not want to make friends with the man be did find a bit of satisfaction in the fact that he was taller than him. Perhaps he could enlighten the Isur, although Sitkanis did not know what an Isur was.

"I get sick of the petching questions as to why I come to the Stranger's Welcome and don't eat. Like it is anyone's business but mine." The Ethaefal glared at the man who he had been arguing with. "I don't need some hero to jump in and save me from this guy. I can kick his ass without help." The issue with this was that Sitkanis had no idea how to fight and in a way he hoped the Isur would try to stop him. He could not back down from a challenge, especially one of strength and will. He would never let anyone be dominant over him. "Why are you asking? You think you can stop me?"

[The Stranger's Welcome] Fight Club [Sitkanis]

The attitude from the smaller man was uncalled for in Vanos's mind, why would he be acting like he was indestructible if it looked like he was about to have his face punched in? Vanos shifted uneasily on his feet as he folded his arms over his chest with the larger arm around the outside as he looked between the two men. He, too, found it a little weird that someone would just sit in a place of socializing and eating and not do any of the latter but it wasn't his place to judge just exactly what people did in their free time. Though now Vanos wanted to ask the question himself or at least try and get an answer from him. Perhaps it was a dark-haired human thing to not eat in public, not the first weird thing that the Isur has seen in his time in Denval.

"No hero," Vanos said with a shake of his head. He was lacking the cool cape and shield to make himself look like a hero. Not to mention the stature, whoever heard of a short hero? "See fight, not want to see go further."

Vanos didn't see the threat as a challenge - of course he could stop the man. But there was more behind that empty threat, like the man was trying to hide the fact that he could be stopped, and that maybe his first wasn't as strong as his words. He pressed his lips together as he looked back up to Sitkanis and then glanced back briefly to the silent adversary.

"Stop this, yes I can. Stop you, yes, and you," Vanos said as he looked to both men to make sure they knew that the little Isur could take both on if it that was the only way to stop a potential argument. "Come inside, no one argue." He said with a shake of his head. "They argue and petching ask question, I answer and tell to leave. Good deal?"

[The Stranger's Welcome] Fight Club [Sitkanis]

Postby Sitkanis on November 11th, 2011, 9:55 pm

OOCI am SO sorry this took so long. I feel terrible. It will not happen again.
It was true. Sitkanis had no hope of winning this fight. He had been a fantastic fighter in his past life but that meant nothing now. This new body had so many weaknesses, although it has it's strengths as well. He would not win this without help and it seemed as though the Isur was not going to help with the fighting. It was be best to back down. At least now it would look as though he was being political. He would back down from the fight because it was the right thing to do, not because he couldn't fight.

With a final glare at the man, Sitkanis turned to look at Vanos. His gazer with still harsh but he was glad that the man intervened. "Fine, I'll come inside." Making his way into the Stranger's Welcome, he turned to the man again. "I'm Sitkanis by the way. Not Sit, not Sitka, not Kanis. Just Sitkanis." Sitting down at a table, he motioned for the Isur to do as well. "What about you? You got a name?"

The Ethaefal really did not have any interest in making friends but he would at least humor the man since he had saved him from a bit of embarrassment. With a bite of his lip he looked at the man. "…and thanks for stopping that fight." He looked around before speaking again, his voice hushed. "Between you and me, I would have lost. I used to be an amazing fighter but now… Not so much." He was not sure why he was being so open with the man but perhaps he was just that thankful.

[The Stranger's Welcome] Fight Club [Sitkanis]

Postby Vanos Strongarm on December 13th, 2011, 8:47 pm

Vanos furrowed his heavy brow at the man's explanation of his name. It wasn't any of those derivatives of the name but simply the one that he stated when he introduced himself. Was it a common Denval thing where they took only parts of a name when they wanted to address someone else? As Vanos followed Sitkanis into the tavern, he wondered to himself what people would call him, if they wanted to shorten his name even further. Van. Os. Ano. Vano. He wasn't sure he liked the way those abbreviations of his name worked and thus understood why Sitkanis wanted to be called just that and nothing else.

"I am Vanos Strongman. Though Vanos vork just as good," He said with a grin as he sat himself at a table opposite of Sitkanis. After the thanks, Vanos was confused as to what sort of state the man had been in previously that would have made him a better fighter. His eyes looked the man's body over from head to toe; he didn't appear to be too terribly weak. A little thin, but that seemed to be a common human thing.

"Vhat happened that you no longer fight? Hurt?" Judging from the way the man's face seemed to be free of any scars, Vanos doubted that as the reason but perhaps it was an injury that was more easily hidden. "You not look veak, could tackle me down, perhaps." Vanos said with a smirk as he somewhat slouched forward as if to try and hide the size of his body.
