5 Fall 511AV

Walking up to the coliseum, Bones was ready for another match. He was feeling fit and ready, and he stretched himself out as he got ready to fight. After all, he did not want to pull something, a very basic lesson he learned from bodybuilding.

Feeling good and limber, he walked inside to the chamber were Shale usually could be found shouting out commands and directing people to there matches.

Shale saw Bones come in, and motioned him to come over.

"Bones, I have a match for you, but today I want you to fight in your human form, make things more interesting. Don't worry, the guy said he would not kill you..."

Bones was caught a bit off guard by this, he always fought in his dhani form, Shale was quite adamant about it... And now he was asking him to fight as a human... Something must be going on.... Not to mention he had said the "guy" would not kill him.... He usually fought creatures, not people... And though he said he would not kill him, that still left injuring and maiming... Shales words did nothing to soothe him...

But what could he do? It was his job, and he fought who he was told to... He would have to go on, and see what happened... After all, how hard could fighting a human be?

Setting aside his extra gear, Bones dropped his pack and his robes, and left his sandals behind. He would fight in just his shirt and pants, after all his feet were pretty tough and could take the dirt of the fighting area. He had spent much time walking barefoot, he only started using sandals when he arrived in Kalea and Alvadas...

Finally, holding one hand on his gladius, he prepared to enter the fighting area...

[The Akeldama Coliseum]Battling what is not there(Solo)

Walking down the long stone passageway, Bones finally came to raised iron gate.

"And know, we have a combatant for you. Never before seen in battle. He fights with his deadly gladius, with an almost inhuman fury. He was forced to leave his country, and ended up here for you paying viewers to see him in battle. How will he fair against his mystery challenger? I give you... BONES!!!!"

As he walked through it, he heard it lower behind him, and felt a sense of foreboding... He was not used to fighting as Bones... Usually when in the coliseum he was snake man... But he would see how things turned out...

Walking out, he held up his gladius, point up, to a few people cheering for him. Though it was mostly boos and catcalls. They did not know he was actually a longtime fighter of the coliseum...

And opposite walked out a man... At first Bones could not make him out... He had some type of blue robes, though Bones could not tell of what color exactly... He had never been to good at telling them apart... It was good enough that he knew that they were blue...

He also wore a black sash with several white stripes across it, black shoes and pants, long socks that went over.... And a shaved head, that seemed to reflect the light off of it...

Strapped on his left hip sat a sword scabbard, which housed a long thin blade... He stood prepared, holding it with his right hand, ready to pull it out....

Motioning with his free hand, he made for Bones to move forward, and stood facing him....

Bones moved, holding his gladius before him, and ran at the man ready to slash him in half when he reached him. Or to try to....

Bones quickly closed the distance, and moved close, ripping his gladius blade down through the air to try and slice the mans chest open. But as he went to slash, the man moved all at once.

In a flash he had drawn his blade, brought it up, and with a twirling motion next to bones blade, parried his attack and redirected it into another direction.

He had not tried to fight it, he had simply guided it in a new direction away from him with a minimal use of energy. He had not even moved from the spot, and was holding his other arm at his side.

Bones looked at him a bit startled. He was very fast, and good at moving his blade... Bones would have to get serious if he wanted to take him on.

Moving in once more, Bones tried a flurry of slices, left, right, middle, a thrust, and to slash at his head....

The man barely did anything, redirecting away the ones to the left right and middle, sidestepping and blocking the blade aimed at a thrust in his chest, and when he tried to cut off his head, the man ducked down, and turning the sword he thrust the pommel into Bones gut...

Stumbling back, he gasped as the air left his chest, and he saw spots for a moment as he tried to take in more air...

Bones could not believe it... This guy was barely doing anything, and he seemed to be unfazed by all of his attacks! Clutching at his gladius, he slowed his breathing, trying to make himself calm and feel normal... He would not give up....

Moving in he tried to make an attack, letting out a yell of rage as he used his full force. However the man seemed unfazed.

He did a movement of his blade, brought it up to Bones gladius, made a twirling motion, and the blade moved around his own, he suddenly twisted it..

Bones felt a tug, and then his hilt left his hand... His sword was tossed through the air a good twenty feet, before it struck the dirt blade first, standing up...

He had been disarmed with seemingly no effort on the other mans part... He was not even out of breath! Bones strength seemed no match for this mans speed and quick thinking....

Taking up a fighting stance, Bones prepared to fight with his body... He was skilled in several types of hand to hand unarmed combat, maybe he would be more successful with it?

Moving in close, Bones made a quick series of punches, trying to strike him in the head, chest, neck... And then a quick sweep of the leg....

The guy seemed to blur a bit as he moved to block the attacks, though for some odd reason he only used his right hand, and his left one stayed absolutely still... In fact his left arm had not moved at all since he first motioned for him to come...

He moved his hand, pushing his wrist so that his hand would go off course, and miss by a bit, which worked for all of the attempts at blows to the body.

The leg sweep he countered differently. As the leg came in, he jumped in the air, bringing up his foot and kicking him right in the chin. This knocked Bones for a loop, and sent him flying back a good ten feet, with his chin aching as he struck the ground.

Stunned for a bit, Bones shook, and got up slowly. All of this was starting to take its toll, and his back and body was starting to ache, along with his chin feeling like it was cleaved in half...

Rising, he started to move on, he was going to take this guy out, tackle him to the ground, and pummel him to oblivion!!!

But before Bones could reach him, he felt a blow to the side of his head. For a moment his vision turned black, and he stumbled, before stopping. Looking over he did not see anyone there... Who had punched him?

Suddenly Bones wondered if this had something to do with the mans left arm not moving... Could it? But this was caught short as he took a blow to the stomach, another in the side of the head, and one to the side.

He looked around furiously, trying to figure out what was going on... Who was attacking him? He could not sense anyone with any of his senses... So what could it be? He tried to figure it out, but as another blow struck his head, he blacked out...

Slowly, Bones came to... He was no longer in the fighting area... Looking around, it was dark... Someone had dragged him to the rest area... After he had been knocked unconscious... It seemed he had been lucky, and he had not been killed after losing... Though what had happened.

Looking up, there was the man who he had lost to, standing over him. As he tensed up, ready to protect himself, he smiled.

"Don't worry, you were not expected to win. THough you did put up a decent fight considering. Most would have given up long before you did. Oh, and here is your weapon."

Holding out his sword, Bones took it, and placed it in its sheath. The man turned and walked off, without a further word... Bones laid there on the bedroll for a bit, before finally getting up...

He went off to find Shale and to get his stuff... Though he was not sure if he would be paid for today, having lost... Though it seemed it had been expected that he would lose... So maybe he would still be... He would see...

Very interesting thread to say the least. I liked how the guy used a style of fencing, along with projection to make it work. Good job portraying both of the characters, and it was interesting to see how Bones reacted to the situation at hand.

Any questions or concerns about the rewards gained please send a PM :)
