I am proud to say that this is the first thread for the city of Ravok. Pretty much all Out-Of-Character discussion will go on in here. I will begin with a brief layout of how I see this city as being.
Aside from the physical layout; canals instead of streets with some allowing direct access to structures from the water, bridges and docks connecting buildings to one another and travel down the canals via Ravosalas (long, slender, elaborately carved boats moved and steered with long poles), Ravok is more or less similar to other cities although having a few glaring differences.
The people love and/or worship Rhysol and The Voice either out of fear or sincere devotion. The Voice takes more of a direct role in the city than Rhysol and her word is law. Through The Black Sun and the Ebonstryfe, order is maintained, dissenters are silenced and the people are expected to give tribute through miza and prayer to the Temple of the Black Sun.
The Ebonstryfe is the militant arm of the Black Sun and consists of only around 500 actual members. These are the elite of the elite and are trained in arts of war as well as politics, interrogation and torture. They are also in charge of the general military of the city and other controlled territories across Mizahar.
No other Gods beyond Rhysol and The Voice are allowed to be worshiped in Ravok although they can be somewhat tolerant of those who give respect to Akajia, The Goddess of Night and Secrets.
