Your "Do Not Use For Grading" Lists...
If you have the balls to post something like this in your scrapbook even if its just to hint that you have a mental one and not speak publicly about it - readily admitting to yourself and the world that you have a 'do not use' list of mods for grading - then I'd hope you'd have a big enough set of the same genitalia to let me know who's on this list.
Why?
If mods are skimping/padding on XP, not doing a good job, not understanding the grading process... I need to know. I've already written a guide for giving XP for them and posted it here in my scrapbook. But if that's not helping maybe we need something more. I need to know so I can gently take them aside and talk to them about their grading tactics and decide what we can do to make sure they aren't upsetting the playerbase by how they award experience. I've been where you've been. I've written training threads that deserved max XP and then have a mod give me something like HALF what I deserved because I did something in the thread that they thought was bogus... the one example that shines out in my mind was my PC taking a CLASS in a CLASSROOM about healing and then having the mod say I did not do any practical healing and all I did was classroom work and stitched up fake wounds in flesh and skin that was cut off food animals etc. This was in a PEACEFUL place where really that's what would happen in a classroom...
So I ended up talking to the mod about it and explaining they were horrible at giving XP. I think I even put it like that. Once I did, they started giving max XP for every thread they read even if it was a one or two poster with one or two lines.... 5.. 5... 5... 5.... frustrating. Some people make good mods, and some people are pretty hopeless at it. We try and keep the good ones, improve the bad ones, and cheer when the rotten ones finally retire.
It's all we can do really.
Anyhow, send me your lists. I wont' use your name, and if more than one person points at the same mod (heaven forbid even if its me!) I'll know there's definitely a need for improvement. I'm strictly talking about XP awards here, though the PM box and HD is always open for other issues as well. Right now, I just want to focus on grading discrepencies. | . |
