Is that for when you need to award the gold, silver, and bronze cat medals?

Kittens Gone Wild!

Cayenne requested i take more pictures. So instead, to convey the sheer amount of kitten fun going on currently at my house, I took a video. Please note this many kittens can really tear a couch up fast as well as coat it with a decent amount of hair. After they passed out, we straightened things up. But wow.. you have to see it to believe it.

Gillar looking totally unfazed with kitten hurricane raging right behind his back shows just why he's the Mizaharian master of all things chaotic.

LOL just the general mass confusion of hair, teeth, and claws must have coated the entire house with hair!

Truthfully having the sheer amount of animals we do, vacuuming is a daily event unlike some people (who I am jealous of) who vacuum once a week. And it gives you a chance to terrorize the poor beasts! Cause everyone knows vacuums can suck out your soul - just ask a cat.

Gardening - Even in the Rain!

So gardening is a passion of mine. It's only been one I've been able to indulge in for the last few years since we bought our little farm. I have to say its one of the most rewarding beautiful hobbies anyone can ever have. Not only can you enjoy your garden and your flowers, but you can eat the food you grow, gift them to others, and even make medicines. Right now, I'm locked in a very very wet june so that almost everything in the ground that isn't hearty (because its as low as the thirties still at night) isn't thriving too well. I only planted corn in the ground in the garden this year, everything else is in containers. But... regardless, some things are shining through. I have all my pots and hanging baskets for the year already planted. My hope is that posting pics now, I can then post pics around august and you can have a comparison as to how wonderfully large these things get...

So without further ado... here's a small tour and some additions to the garden this year... I hope you enjoy it.

Food first!

Image

Arugula, Spinach, and Peas - all in windowbox containers.

Image

Tomatoes - This year I have beef steak, 100 joy (cherry), Seitz, and Roma.

Image

Same Tomatoes, different angle.

Image

Wave petunias, and my favorite filler plants for baskets. These look a little thin right now, but wait until they get growing. :) I planted two big ones like this, and a huge 24 inch pot full too.

Image

Chinese Bayberry... this lovely shrug is dark purple with pink tips. It looks like this all year round.

Image

This is Delphinium. It was so gorgeous this year (the second year I've had it) that I went to my local nursery and got some purple and more blue as well. I want to get some pink. Anyone know where to find some in the NW? *grin*

Image

This is a new addition to my yard this year. I love ceramic bird baths. They add a punch of color to otherwise mundane corners of the garden.

Image

This is a gorgeous basket (from my local - just down the street) home nursery business. It is filled with wave petunias in this brilliant pale pink with cascading filler... it's looking a little rain soggy right now, but trust me its HUGE.

Image

It's my baby smoke tree. These things are gorgeous and get about twenty feet in diameter and over 20 feet high though they can be sculpted for perfect yard gorgeousness.

Thats amazing Jen, I had a teacher that did the same thing but just small herbs and very little and my dad gots his own little garden in our backyard. Great job with the plants, I wouldn't mind some organic tomatoes xD never know what the ones in the stores got in them. Do you use any type of fertilizer, or is it all natural?
