[Flashback]Along came a snake...[Moon]

23 Spring 511 It was a night like many others. It was rather dark out, with almost no moon at all. Walking along, came Bones trying to find his way to wherever he was going, which at this point he had forgotten. He was trying at this point to just get home, but the city had started messing with him, and had looped the street somehow. After the two hundred and thirty first time of passing the same building, he decided to take a break. Sitting down at the side of the road, he rested up against the side of a house, with a bump on the wall as his sheath struck the wall. He sighed, looking up at the sky, wondering when he would get home. Luckily though Bones had always been more of a night person, so it did not really bother him to much. And at least it was not raining!

Delanie woke up that night to a strange noise. She was used to random noises by now but this on was different. She got out her bed with growing irritation. For one she didnt like strange things, and secondly she hated getting out of her warm bed into the cold night air. Whatever had just woken her up was going to have to deal with her wrath. Delanie silently walked through her house to each window. When she didnt see anything she almost went back to bed. Then she heard another noise, a sigh. Someone was definitly close by, and she was determind to find out who. Delanie grabber her sword, who knew what was out there, she wouldnt be caught in a fight without it.

As she stepped out of her door she shut it silently behind her. As much as she wanted to be quiet she'd rather not have to chase some creature out of her house. She walked toward the right side of her house. Delanie slowly peaked aroung the corner of her house, when she saw nothing she almost laughed out loud. She really was overreacting about this. No sain person would be walking around this late at night. Carelessly walking to the back of the house her heart leaped, but calmed when no one was there either. As she made it to the left side she walked around the corner.

Delanie sucked in her breath and jumped back to the other wall, out of view. There was a large man sitting against the side of her house. So thats where the noise were coming from, that she knew. Delanie wasnt sure how she should confront this man. She could ignore him, in hopes he would soon leave, or she could confront him. Delanie knew she couldnt trust this man, he was a stranger. She decided confrontation was the way to go, and with the mood she was in he knew it wouldnt be a nice one. As she walked around the corner she hoped he hadnt seen her the first time. She walked slowly up to the person staying close to the house. He didnt move as she got closer, Delanie figured he was either acting like he didnt see her or he was completely stupid. As she stepped up she put the tip of her sword right next to the mans neck, making a spring attack next to impossible. At the moment she had the upperhand, so she took advantage of it.

"What in the hell do you think you are doing!?"

Bones had been sitting there, minding his own business, when he saw out of his peripheral vision someone creeping up on him. He could not really tell who it was, but darting out his tongue, he tasted the air... It smelled human... As the person came at him, and got near with a sword sticking out, he reacted. He rolled to the side, moving his leg up and kicking the flat side of the blade coming at him, so it would not cut. But he moved so unexpectedly, she would likely not be able to react. And with his increased strength from that of a normal human, it would be quite a hit. She would be lucky if she held onto the blade at all, but it would definitely be jarring to her arm when his foot struck the sword. Having gotten the blade away from him, he continued his roll, reaching back with his right hand. As he finished the roll, he would come up in a crouch, and pull out the blade from his sheath. Since it was a leather sheath, and not a metal one, it would make no sound as it was drawn. Now with his sword in between himself and whoever this was, he slowly stood up to his full intimidating height, which would most likely tower over the shorter person. "Didn't anyone tell you it isss rude to point your bladesss at people?" He would say, trying to see the other person. He could not tell if it was a boy or girl, but it did not seem to be fully grown. Regardless, Bones was the one being attacked, he was just trying to defend himself from some attacker. He was not even in his dhani or snake mode which might have provoked her...

Delanie nearly cursed at the pain that shot through her arm. Okay so she wasnt expecting the person to see her much less attack her! He was the one on HER propety. Delanie became instantly pissed off. Who did this man think he was, going all crazy on her like this? Still a little shooken up from th surprise Delanie took a step back and braced herself, he couldnt be that big of a threat. "Oh my..." Delanie thought to herself as he stood up to his full height. She knew she was small compared to most, but to this man she was the size of a child.

When he spoke to her his words nearly knocked her to the ground. This was not a normal man. Delanie felt a knot of fear coil in her stomach but she didnt show it. "Yes, but they also told me to never let a stranger near your home." Delanie stepped a little closer to him, dearing each inch. "So tell me," she extended her lead arm a little farther, "what exactly are you doing leaning against my house like a crazy person?"

Bones moved his head a fraction of a inch to look at the building, before looking back. But he always kept his eyes on her. He almost exuded killer intent, and it was obvious an untold of many deaths were attached to his name, and had been left in his wake. Even the way he acted showed how serious he was, taking this as a threat to his life, and not letting down for a second. When Bones got serious, it was a bit scary. All traces of his nicer side vanished, as he was prepared to fight for his life. He watched as she tried to inch closer to him, and prepared himself to move. He could easily move his light blade to block an attack, as compared to her bigger heavier one. Not to mention he was stronger, and could easily wield even a heavier blade like the one she was using as if it were nothing. He kept himself in a ready position, obviously having some skill by seeing his form, and it showed he was not a novice. "I did not know it wasss anyonesss home, just a building. The city hasss been walking me around in circlesss for hoursss now... I have passed thisss houssse ssseveral hundred timesss... And I decided to ressst... I meant no harm or rudenessss..." "But you did attack me firssst..."

Delanie almost laughed. It wasnt because she thought something was funny, it was just the sheer fact that he had actually been walking around for circles for hours. Delanie was a little reluctant to give up the fight but she knew this man could easily over power her. He was nearly twice, maybe three times her size, a deathly advantage. Delanie slowly layed the sword down beside her, they were both still on edge and she didnt want to make the wrong move. She stood back up and looked up at him, her neck almost all the way back. She then relaized that in that moment she was completely vulnerable to him. He could slice her in two, she was in no position to defend her self. Not wants to show any sign of fear she placed her hands on her hips.

"So really, a hundered times?" she laughed quietly, she just couldnt hold it in. She really did feel bad for him. that must have been irritaing.

Bones loosened a bit as he saw her putting down her weapon. Did she not have a sheath to put it in? Most had on kept on a belt on there hip so they could carry it around. Maybe she just did not... But regardless, he tried to relax, and show he was not going to attack if she was not going to. Reaching behind himself, he slid his gladius back into its sheath, and let out a long breath. "Yesss, at leassst ssat many timesss... If not more..." Luckily for her he was more or less cool tempered, and did not randomly attack and rip apart people for laughing at there expense. Though many other less civilized dhani he knew would have... But Bones was a bit mellowed out for a dhani... And better at keeping his cool. He was about to say something else, when a loud ruckus was heard coming down the street. He could not tell exactly how many there were, but there were at least five or six men coming, being loud and rowdy, a few even swaying a bit from being drunk. As they neared the two of them, several made cat-calls, and hooted at the girl. One even stumbled over to her, and started pawing at Delanie, and in no unclear terms asked if she wanted to go home with him and "have some fun." Bones obviously was not going to just let that happen, and though he had only just met the girl, he moved himself in between her and the drunk, pushing him back a bit. What kind of a man would he be if he let that happen?

Delanie turned when she heard a loud noise come down the street. Several men were stumbling their way towards her and the man. She was slightly nervous, there were a lot of them. Delanie had never met a drunk man before, but she had heard many things about them. They were rude and dangerous. She chuckled to herself. These men were obviously not in a clear state of mind.

Delanie heard them whisteling at them but she didnt know why. When one man came up to her and played with her hair she recoiled. She now knew what they were doing. Delanie almost knocked the man out with her bare hands when she saw a tall figure step infront of her. She was shocked. Just minutes ago this was the man that was trying to kill her, now he was planning on attacking her. "Men..." Delanie watched around the mans arm. She wondered how much he would risk for her.. WOuld he really try to fight them. He was an idiot if he thought he could....

Of course standing in the way of the girl they were wanting to have there way with was not the wisest idea. But Bones had a great respect for women, and would not let them be taken advantage of against there will. This was probably more due to his upbringing in a matriarchal society, were the females were in charge, and to be respected. Or maybe he was just a gentlemen. Sometimes it was hard to tell the difference. Regardless, he was keeping himself in there way. The one he had pushed back had stumbled for a bit, and then taking a few more drunken steps head proceeded to vomit on the ground, and then pass out. Apparently though his friends thought this was due to something Bones had done, and not there friends excessive drunkenness. Another guy came up, trying to threaten Bones. He was not drunk, and made a big deal of pulling out a blade on his hip, which was a long dagger with a wavy blade. He waved it around in Bones face, making several threatening gesture, and telling Bones to move, as it was none of his business. Finally fed up with Bones, who had not moved at all, he made a lunge at him, trying to sink the blade into his chest.... It did not even make it halfway to him.... Bones had darted out his hands, much faster than the man who had been out drinking, even though he was not drunk. He grabbed with one hand at the wrist with the blade, and squeezing and twisting, the mans hand popped open, dropping the weapon to the ground. As he let out a short scream of pain, he flailed, trying to punch Bones with his other hand, but Bones had had enough. Using his full force, he punched the man right in the nose. And being a constrictor dhani, this was almost three times of the strength of a normal man. Needless to say it did some serious damage. The man froze, not moving at all.... And suddenly a great torrent of blood gushed out of his nose.... As Bones released his hand which he had been squeezing, the man swayed on the spot for a moment, and then fell back onto the road with his head making a dull clunk as it struck. His nose had been shoved up into his face, and he looked like he was dead. No one could lose that much blood and still be alive right? Seeing this, there compatriot killed with a single blow, the others hesitated, looking at each others. What they thought was going to be an easy score, and a good time, had suddenly become serious trouble. As they stood there, Bones reached back and pulled out his gladius, holding it in front of him. As they looked at it, several noticed something about the weapon.... The handle.... It was not made of metal like most handles were.... It was made out of bone....

She winced as little splinters got stuck in the bare skin of her shoulders. Delanie was smashed agaisnt the wall of her house. She watched with large eyes as he took the drunks out one by one. Delanie shuddered when she saw his massive fist force a mans face back into his skull. What had she been thinking when she thought she could take this man out? Even though she was skilled she was no match to his power. Delanie watched as the rest of them started to circle forward towards the man. He was large and intimidating already but there were just to many of them.

What was she gonna do, just stand back there like a coward and pretend she didnt know what was going on? "Over my dead body" She thought to herself. Delanie stepped up and grabbed her tulwar, she could feel the little wooden splinters sticking in her skin. Standing infront of the man she noticed she barely took up any space. Delanie held the sword at her side, the tip just barely touching the ground. She was going to wait for them to come to her. She wasnt very big in size and she wasnt nearly as intimidating. SHe was never the one to make the first move. If they were stupid enough, they'd fight the two of them. She was sure the presence of two weapons would be the thing to scare them off. Or so she hoped it would..
