Miro watched the fight with a grin on his face. The ice was looking like it was going to hit its target, but Grim may be in trouble. He was going to be hit, one way or another, he was going to take a punishing blow. Miro had to help, some how. Perhaps somehow he could help Grim stay safe from attacks. Like a shield! He looked down at his hands, ignoring the fight for now. He took and began to shape his res betwixt his moving hands. He would shape it into a semi-circle and compress it and repeat until a large thick shell was made. He flipped it over and fastened two handles, one to fit on the arm, and one to grab onto. He closed his eyes and focused on the mass of res that sat on his lap. He pulled deep and transmuted the res to ice, leaving a disoriented Miro. His upper half fell forward, clonking on the edge of the arena for a moment before being lifted again. Miro held a hand to his forehead for a moment then began to add to the outside of the icy shell. It was heavy, squeezing down hard on Miro's lap. He added several curved blades spaced closely together facing one direction. He moved the heavy object to the barrier separating the crowd from the fighters and took his time adding a ring to hold them firmly in place along the outside rim. He fortified the blades and focused on the sharpness before transmuting it. Again, he felt the wind knocked out of him, barely keeping the device from falling onto the sands below. Miro panted, unable to look up or even cheer. His arm rested in the icy hold, unable to move.

Bones was busy trying to do his attacks, when a big ball of cold suddenly struck him. Well of course he was not expecting it, and it made him jump a bit in shock from the sudden rush of low temperature.

The other combatant was able to duck below his attack, and his fist missed. Then the man ducked down to try and bite at his tail. Most likely if the tail had connected, due to the force behind it, it would not only hit pretty hard, but knock the fangs right out of the snakes mouth, if not knocking the entire thing from his shoulders. Which seemed rather stupid to Bones.

It would be like if someone was trying to punch you, moving so it hit you in the teeth. All it would end up with would be you having all of your teeth knocked out. This if nothing else showed Bones that the combatant had little experience in fighting with his body. Anyone who had would not do such a thing.

Though the tail never did collide, as the shock of the ice ball to Bones caused him to jump a little, and his tail flew right over the open mouth missing the head entirely.

And all during this, there two swords were still meeting. So Bones also continued there, beginning to increase his arms pressure, and slowly push on his foes sword back and closer to his body, forcing him with his strength.

In the background, Bones thought he heard some girls screaming cheers as he went to strike, though he payed little attention to it. Though if he had he might have noticed they seemed a bit strained, as if they were being forced to cheer under duress... Though he was more focused on the fight to notice anything but that someoene was cheering for him.

OOC-Edited

When a sudden shower of icy chunks came down on Grim, his opponent’s tail changed course and flew right over his head. With his initial target gone, Grim looked for the nearest thing to sink his teeth into. Now that he was below and behind his enemy’s large tail, it left the side and back of his opponent more open.

With one hand locked in combat and the other behind, there should be no way for his enemy to intercept the blow. With all of this passing through his mind, Grim would attempt to bite his opponents open flank and sink his large, poison filled fangs into the flesh.

If the bite lands it would soon cause severe pain, swelling, and destruction of tissue if not treated. Weather it lands or not, Grim would continue with his lunge and travel fully under his enemy’s tail and end the power struggle with the large brute.

[OOC:Edited]

HIs tail swipe had narrowly missed, and flopped to the ground behind his intended target. But seeing his attempt to bite him and inject a hefty dose of what appeared to be venom, Bones was starting to piece together his foes plan. If you could really call it that simple as it was.

Since he could not beat him in a battle of strength, and they were more or less matched in skill with blades, he chose to try and repeatedly bite Bones until one such bite hit, and weakened him. Well of course he was going to be on the defensive for such further attacks. And since it appeared the combatant had no skill with fighting hand to hand, while Bones was relatively good at it, Bones had an advantage in that respect.

So it came as no shock at all when the creature tried to sink its fangs into his side, with about as much creativity and finesse as a wild animal.

Luckily for him his hand was still pretty close to the mans head, since his original punch had whizzed by when he ducked, leaving his hand stopped above it.

So all he had to do was lower his hand and intercept the gaping maw of his venom filled mouth. He would try at first to simply guide the mouth away from his side by pushing it with his open palm near were the snout and neck met, so as to miss him and his teeth to clamp down on empty air.

But he would also try to clamp his hand down with his vise like grip on the mouth once it was closed, to keep it closed. And with his enormous strength, that might be possible for him were it might not be for a human. If he could strangle a man with a flick of the wrist, him seriously trying would be very good at keeping the mouth closed. If he was successful in first grabbing and closing the mouth.

Regardless, all the while, he had been pushing with his blade, forcing the other combatant back. Now he would redouble his efforts and really go full force with his sword. His main attempt here was to mess up his "footing" so to say, so as to get him off balance, and if possible knock the blade out of the other fighters hand, leaving him unarmed, even if in the process he lost his own blade. Though it was also pushing him farther away, not only making him have to move farther to hit him, but possibly even putting him out of range of another bite attack from the venom happy dhani. Though it was hard to tell the exact length and range of a dhanis neck....

But that second part with the sword was more absentmindedly, just a steady increase of force and a slight twist. His main focus was on the mouth of his foe, and on keeping those venom filled fangs away from him.

[Alvadas Event] Team Keido V. Team Miro (Match 1)

Postby Keido on October 5th, 2011, 9:54 am

Keido watched the whole fight. Bones like Ricky were more than just teammates, they were friends sort of. Friends bonded together by experiences. So he chuckled when he saw another man strong arming some of the women into cheering for Bones. Keido would have stopped the threat but then this was all in good clean fun and if Bones had a cheering squad it was all the better. Your best weapon in the Colosseum was of course the people.

He wanted to join the man but then he saw Miro, the disgusting fool parading around like an idiot before he threw the ice ball. It would probably work as a good distraction more than an attack since ice heavy enough as an attack won't travel far. It did mess up Bones' attack but the dhani was far too committed to the fight to bother with it by the looks of it fortunately enough. Angry, Keido stormed up to Miro who was trying something else.

But he won't get a chance to follow through. Keido saw that Miro was exhausted with making a...large ice shield? It would be heavy and whoever got it like Bones' opponent would be horrible encumbered but the possibility of defending himself would far outweigh that. Taking a chance at Miro trying to recover Keido came from the side and made a grab on the shield with both his hands.

Then, he flipped the shield upwards. Right towards Miro's face. Keido wanted to get this conniving cheater out of the equation, his part in helping Bones today. Even if it was not enough to knock Miro out it would at least give Keido the opportunity to take the shield before Miro could give it to his teammate and after that? We'll just see.

"Try and cheat and I will take you down like the dog you are even before our match Miro" Keido snarled to try and keep the boy off Bones' fight. There were plenty others throwing things too but none were as damaging as what Miro was doing.

OOCI don't know whether flipping the shield is brawling, shield or bodybuilding. Just use whatever you see fit but I guess it should be effective since Miro can't even look up right?
Keido is now dead as of 34th of Fall, 511 AV (16th of September, 2011). I will do my best to finish all existing threads before I retire him so people with him right now don't worry.

The crowd was roaring and the fight was moving on. This one was exciting to say the least. Two rather rare combatants facing off against each other was quite the sight to see. It was not every day that the people of Alvadas get to see two Dhani, let alone of a different sub-race, fight.

The attack from Grim, the bite, would not hit Bones as planned. Instead of his teeth flanking into the hand of other Dhani who tried to guide the bite away. It would seem that was not the best move, but again it was better than letting the snake sink his teeth into a more fleshy part of Bones, right? Though a bite was a bite, and soon enough Bones will be feeling the effects.

Though with the biting of the Dhani’s hand and the pressure put onto the sword struggle by Bones would force Grim back, if the snake wanted to he could wrangle free of the Bones grip on him, if it could be called that one hand been bitten. Bones was stronger, that subject had no doubt, but he was inherently slower than Grim, whereas with Grim the opposite was true. He was faster but not necessarily stronger. Now this fight was all a matter of time.

The crowd would be throwing things at the both of them, mainly rotten fruit of all kinds, and when Keido came to ruin the fun some folks took it upon themselves to pelt the man as well. Who was he to mess with the will of the crowd? He was not one of them, and he sure hadn’t paid the miza to join in. The ice shield, however, in Keidos attempt to wrench it from Miro would slip off the guys arm and land shortly after in the sands below away from them both. Though in Keidos haste to grab the shield he would find that his hands had sustained some injuries as well, small cuts.

With a sudden jerk, Grim released himself from the grasp of his enemy and was pleased to see the bite had landed, even though it was only on his opponent’s hand. Either way, the bite would take effect soon enough. Continuing the motion of the jerk, he would attempt to quickly dislodge the two swords and ready his blade for any incoming attack. If he was able to get an attack in with his sword before Grim was out of swinging distance then he would attempt to parry the attack and continue to increase the distance between the two of them. If he instead swung his massive tail then Grim would try to swing his razor sharp sword at the tail and lop it off before it hit him. If instead his enemy tried to use his wounded fist then he would use the blade to block or swing at it. As he started the motions of increasing the distance, these plans crossed through his mind. Getting out of the dhani’s reach would not take more than a short moment with his better speed. Whatever happened this fight would not last forever and all Grim had to do was win.

Bones had been bitten. Well he knew at this point fighting on would only cause further damage to himself. He might win, but he really needed to get the poison fixed, and the longer he waited the worse the it would get in him. And really it was not worth it to him to continue fighting.

The other dhani had beaten him by a cheap shot, and he would not forget it... Maybe he would get his revenge... Maybe he would let it go... He was not sure, but there was nothing further to do here.

"I conssede..." Bones said, taking a step back. He nodded to the other combatant, and said it once more louder so that everyone could hear. It was only his first time fighting in a tournament, he could not have expected all to go as planned... But he would move on, fight another day, and get better.

Taking a deep breath, he would fight back the pain from the bite, and the feeling of burning metal floating through his veins, from the venom. He would do his best to stay calm, and his reasoning to keep in charge... Since his unreasoning side was saying to fight until the dhani was dead, even if it meant himself dying in the process... Not the best way to do it...

Assuming his opponent was agreeable, he would head the best he could to the medic... He needed some doctoring...

Grim was taken aback by the statement and actions of his opponent. He had not expected the dhani to forfeit the match. As his opponent stepped back and proclaimed his surrender, Grim did not understand until the second and louder time.

As his opponent turned and began to head for the exit and the medics, Grim caught up with him and spoke in their shared tongue, “I did not expect you to concede. You have fought very well and proved to be a challenging opponent. I apologize for the bite and hope you make a swift recovery. Fair well.” Maybe they would meet another time in the future under a less combative situation.

Then Grim offered a hand to shake the uninjured one of his prior enemy. Whether he would shake or not, Grim would accept either and make his way out of the arena to change back into his human form, get dressed, and find Miro.
