Knock Knock Ms. Obvious (Aidara)

Postby Alstroemeria on September 25th, 2011, 2:31 pm

50th Day of Fall, 511 AV
A drop of sweat pierces her arched brow, her eyes aimed at the middle of the target. The Avora took the bow up, reaching for a arrow. She drew it back, her arm perfectley angled. And with all her power she released it quickly, watching it aim straight for the target. Finally! It had hit the middle for the first time, all her hard work had been paying off. In fact, she thought she deserved something better but after all she was only an Avora.

Meria made her way towards the target, ripping the bow out of the red and white wood. She smiled, watching her un-harmed arrow was still in tact with earth. The Avora put the arrow back in her case then made her way back to Wind Reach. After all her hard work catching food, she needed a break. In fact, she needed to serve herself the food she had caught: A rabbit, a deer, and a bear. Of course she'd save some for the rest of Wind Reach, she wasn't going to be so selfish. At least not yet at least. In fact, if she were an Endal which was one of the highest caste's in Wind Reach she'd be very common like Aidara or Sira... She desired a better life and wanted everyone to be treated equally. But who was she to be telling people what to do and how to run this city. She was a nobody either way, and no one cared really. She wanted a life but she couldn't get what she wanted. She had to do what she had to do for the well being of other and herself. If she tried to get herself in such a situation she would guilt herself to death. Even when she became dead her soul would weep. Finally the Avora reached the Sanikas Gates, there was the guards. She gave them a soft smile and waved, notifying them that she was a resident and what not. The two nodded and opened the gates for her quickly and watched her carefully walk in with her work. In a few short second the doors closed behind her and here she was back home. Meria began to walk to her room quickly, here and there was shadows and other Inarta's that made there way back home from work. She smiled waving to those, but of course she was ignored. Again. Suddenly she saw a figure, she could tell it was an Endal because she heard the sound of her walk. It was calm and slow, she was taking her time. Who could it possibly be? Most Endals would have been waiting for their meals right now... Who could possibly be waiting on something. She saw a glimpse of the person, then realized it was Aidara. She didn't really know her very well but she thought that Addy had seemed very nice after all. She was the most favored in the entire Wind Reach. Coming in Second was Sira, and then the list carried on. Of course, Meria had been making her way up the caste's finally reaching Avora... She hoped to be an Endal sooner or later. But her section covered more of the artisan levels, yes she provided food for her country. She could be an Endal.. She didn't know her caste. Oh no.. Addy's coming! What should I do?! The Avora stood in silence debating to herself on what to do. She was so stupid she had to move, but what if it were important.

Suddenly, she saw Aidara's hair, therefore she alerted herself to run before she could reach her. She totally forgot about everything that she stopped and touched a lamp attempting to catch her breath. Meria had forgotten completely about her visions, that suddenly everything went completely white. Then flashed towards a dark room with one candle. There was the man in the dark cloak a huge grin on his face. Her eyes opened wide to fixate herself in the dark trying to make out the person. She was tied to a bed, fully clothed and there he was suddenly stretched across her, whispering into her ears. Some in Nari, he was an inarta. She could tell, his hair was red. Who the hell was this? In reality she had fallen to the floor and layed there motionless, her pupils no longer visible. In her flashback, there was the man who was trying to convince her to meet him... She pushed him away with her legs but it was no use. He had full power over her.... In reality, she woke up. With a brutal awakening, her head began to throb as she breathed heavily. "Lord help me... Lord help me..." Meria was in complete tears, she couldn't help it. What she saw was torture... Can the lord help her? Or what?....

By then she had drawn a crowd then, her eyes were murky in vision. She saw black figures that were talking and trying to bring the Inarta back to life. She found herself being picked up and being sent to be healed. They thought something medically was wrong with her, but what they were soon to be found out was that there was nothing wrong with her. After a few hours had passed in awkward silence for the Avora to wake up. Her eyes finally averted to the ceiling and there was Aidara waiting on her arrival. Meria decided to keep her hands to herself but gave her an apologetic smile."What's going on?"She asked in a raspy voice. Her flashbacks did beat the shit out of her and she wished for the better but that's who she was. Meria tried to make her way up into a sitting position but was too weak to do. So she pushed herself back down, holding her head. "Lord... Stupid... Flashbacks... They beat the shit out of you..." She said in a rough tone, with a slight bit of coughing. Everyday whenever she touched something he had touched, he would tamper with her mind. Causing her to get weaker putting him at an advantage. Sooner or later she may as well just commit suicide and just live in perfect peace somehow.... Nothing could put her heart or soul to rest, she couldn't bare it anymore though....

Knock Knock Ms. Obvious (Aidara)

It was a "la-de-da" type of day. Thus far, there had been no serious injuries, and she and Sira had not been scheduled for a shift until later the following day. With an inordinate amount of free time suddenly before her, Addy found herself with no idea what she wanted to do.

So she wandered aimlessly up and down the inner warrens, pacing slowly as she took in the sights of those running back and forth, the Avora dragging their wares through the corridors and the drudges and Yasi running the errands of those too lazy to do anything for themselves. The latter made the healer snort in mild disgust; she tried to do everything for herself, never having liked ordering anyone around. Plus, if you wanted something to get done right, you had to do it yourself.

Here and there, Addy stopped to chat with her friends as they appeared, trying not to keep them too long from their jobs while at the same time wishing they would offer a solution to her boredom. At one point, the healer had to stop and help a Yasi as he scrambled around on his hands and knees, trying to catch the hundreds of beautiful glass balls that rocketed off in every direction as the sack he carried them in split at the seam.

"I won't tell if you won't tell..." Addy whispered with a wink as they stuffed the last of the balls back into a new bag that the healer had retrieved for him. The young boy smiled gratefully, attempting to bow and scurry away at the same time. "Yes, Endal Aidara. Thank you, Endal Aidara" followed her as he dashed off down the corridor in the opposite direction she had been heading.

Addy quickly found herself consumed by thoughts of children. Boy, or girl? Kelvic or human? Bratty or decent? It was like the lottery. What was their child going to be like? That boy in the hall was nice, maybe their child would be nice..oh, but that one is funny- look at him make his friends laugh! She, now she will grow up to be a beauty, that's for sure.... Since when have there been so many Yasi?

Smiling to herself, Addy realized that you never really noticed what was all around you until you had a frame of reference for it. She had never given a second thought to children before, never really seeing herself as one to settle down. Now that her own child was only months from being born, the children of Wind Reach that had previously blended in with the scenery now stood out to her.

When she rounded the corner, Addy was quick to pick up on the commotion. There was a group of men, women and children gathered around something near one of the corridor's walls. With her curiosety piqued, Addy stepped forward and readied herself to shoulder through the crowd; one of the downfalls of being so short was that you had to push your way in if you wanted to see anything.

When an Avora, a blacksmith by the looks of his arms, spotted Addy, he urgently turned from her and tapped the woman in front of him. She too turned, spotted the healer and motioned for the man next to her to move aside. A little taken aback as the crowed quickly parted for her, Addy stepped quickly through the path they made. Something had to be wrong.

Alstroemeria was laying there on her back, spread eagle and twitching every so often. Her eyes were rolled back in her head, and her mouth hung wide open. Every once and a while, she would moan softly, or flinch as if she was being hit.

"Will someone run and grab me some water....please?" Aware that she had just been mentally bashing those who shouted orders, Addy forgave herself in this situation. Kneeling down next to the woman, a stone cup was shoved over her shoulder and into her face before she even had time to closely examine the patient. Tilting her head back and offering a smile to the over-eager man who had, by the way he was panting, literally ran to fill her order, Addy set the cup down for when Alstroemeria woke.

Just as Addy had managed to determine that she hadn't a fever, her pulse was fine and these were not seizures, Meria's eyes fluttered open. Addy had her hand on the side of the womans neck and was gently feeling there for any kind of swelling or lumps that would give her a hint as to what was wrong. Pulling away and quickly reaching for the water, Addy slipped an arm behind Meria's shoulders as she proped herself up onto her elbows.

"Flashbacks, eh? Does this happen often? Here, drink this." The earthenware mug was pressed into her hand, and seeing that she wasn't going to pass out again, Addy sat back on her heels, carefully watching Meria as she drank. "Does your head hurt? Does anything hurt?" Waiting for the responces, the healer nodded slowly and took a moment to consider.

"Are there any kind of symptoms that appear before you have your...flashbacks? Any warnings, I mean?" Having never seen anything like this before, Addy was trying to get as much information as possible. Was she having visions, was this magic? Or was this just another unfortunate case of the past coming back to haunt?

Either way, the hallway was becoming sitifling. Looking around at all the people still hovering and watching over her shoulder, Addy grinned and made a shooing motion with her hand "She'll be fine, she'll be fine. Let's just give her some air, alright?" Relcutantly, the crowed dispersed and the two women were left alone in the reliviely empty hallway.

Thinking that maybe she would be more likely to talk without an audience, since she seemed nervous as it was, Addy asked Alstroemeria her questions again. "Really, are you okay? Lets go back to the infirmary. I'll make you some tea with some herbs that are known to help prevent seizures.... I know that's not what happened, but until you tell me more...." Addy spread her hands wide in a gesture of helplessness before helping Alstroemeria to her feet and leading the way to the Infirmary.

Knock Knock Ms. Obvious (Aidara)

Postby Alstroemeria on September 28th, 2011, 2:38 am

“Only when I touch something that he has touched.” The Avora was hesitant because she didn’t want to give herself away.

“Thank you” Meria smiled, taking a small sip at a time. “Um… No, unless he has touched it I would have no clue. Due to how I travel a lot, I happen to forget about my flashbacks.” Meria assumed she could trust the Endal to keep her secrets because after all she had one of the highest caste’s in Wind Reach. After all, she was a healer and she had to trust her either way to keep her healthy. No?

The Endal was leading her to the infirmary to be treated and taken care for. She didn’t need that kind of care. She just needed someone in her life to be there for her, where was Luke? He left her abandoned; all she had been this locket… A small frown on the Avora’s face as she held the locket open to see his mother and himself, how beautiful they looked.

She saw the resemblance especially, but she missed him dearly and wondered when he’d be back for her. This was like a promise ring that may or may not be fulfilled. She didn’t know, for all she knew he could be with another girl. Therefore she had been waiting all this time for nothing… Did she want to appear as someone stupid?

Damnitt… What am I talking about… She’s right there… I’m such an idiot. The Avora was finally placed somewhere to lay down and rest while the Healer began to conjure up a mixture. Meria found her eyes growing fainter and fainter, drifting into her dream world…

A few hours later, the sun was setting and there Addy was staring at her in her sleep. She gave her a small smile, as she attempted to rise from her seat. Feeling weak again, she fell back into a laying position. Hoping for comfort, she just let all the tensing flow into the river…. Meaning she allowed all her fears and hopes and dreams, to just drop. As if she was starting all over again.

"What happened?"The Avora grounded, feeling he head. First of all it ached loudly and second, her body ached from the horrible fall. Meria was all happy for only a few seconds, then feel head first. Like paper planes and playground games. She sighed, trying to get up again. She needed to regain energy and get back up. It was natural instinct.

Sadly, her energy wasn't fufilled so she was forced to fall back again. Luckily, Aidara wasn't paying attention to her, yet. Therefore she didn't have to deal with her worrying over pain. She knew she cared but she hated people caring about her. Her birth parents didn't care about her and neither did most people. So where's the sense.

She had one of the second highest caste's in Wind Reach. Yet still she allowed her sell to be driven into the dirt.

"Something for your head, I think. And maybe to help you sleep as well. That fall couldn't have done much for your back."

The girl seemed absolutely uncomfortable. There was silence the entire way back to the infirmary, though Addy had asked her enough questions and gotten decent enough answers to confirm that the girl was alright. She hadn't hit her head, though complained of it hurting, so there was no fear of a concussion. Assuming that either the drugs that were plied in The Weather or severe lack of sleep was the culprit in this case, Addy didn't pry into the strange flashbacks that the young woman had mentioned...well, not yet anyway.

Turning off the corridor into the familiar entrance that was the Infirmary, Addy smiled to Keah as she bandaged the leg of a petulant looking Yasi, waved to Micquel who nodded a hello, as his arms were full of bandages.

"You lay here, alright? Tell me if anything hurts or goes wrong. I'll be right over there, making your tea." Talking softly and kindly, Addy offered a small smile as she guided Meria over to a bed in the far corner of the sick room, as isolated from the movement and noise as could be.

It was a simple task setting the water to heat in a small pot over the equally small fire that they kept kindled for such occasions, and then finding the proper herbs that treated a headache. Meria didn't complain of head problems, but it was very likely that she would considering her fall and her traumatic visions.

When the water was heated, a few sprigs of mint and a moderate amount of chamomile was added to the tea. The mint was for flavor, while the chamomile relieved head pains that were unrelated to any kind of cold or congestion. Telling Alsotromeria this, Addy pressed the cup into her hand and telling her to drink up. While her patient hopefully obeyed, Addy went into her office, opening a cabinet to the right of the door frame. From within, there was a small brown glass bottle with a curiously fashioned dropper on top, to make small quantities of liquid easier to remove. Half of the dropper was filled, deposited into another clay cup and the bottle was replaced to it's rightful spot.

"This will help you sleep. No, I won't tell you what it is, so you'll have to trust me." He smile was as reassuring as she could get it, leaning over to tip the second cups contents into the first. The liquid was simply the juices crushed from the stems of a flower found around the mountain, it's extract used to aid in sleep.

----

"You were out for a while. How are you feeling?" Taking a cup of tea herself, Addy had perched on a nearby bed to keep watch over Alstromeria. Normally, other patents were serviced while another slept off whatever was wrong, but this case was special; these visions both intrigued and worried Addy, and she had been keen on making sure that a repeat of what happened in the hallway happened while she slept.

"Can you tell me about these flashbacks? I am afraid I don't understand...Here." Another warm cup of tea was pressed into the young woman's hands, and Addy sat back down on the bed opposite Meria. "And who is "he"? Why does it matter that he touched something?"

Delicate brow furrowed, Addy tilted her head to the side. Meria looked constantly on the verge of saying something, and so Addy let the silence draw out until the young woman did finally speak her mind. "I can't help you unless you tell me...." A pause. "You do want me to help you, right?"

oocI'm glad you said something about her head hurting when she woke up, haha, since I was totally going to give her tea and stuff for her head anyway. Great minds think alike!

I also wasn't sure if you wanted Addy to actively question her about the flashbacks or not, so I just went with it. I'm not sure exactly where you were intending this to go.

Knock Knock Ms. Obvious (Aidara)

Postby Alstroemeria on October 1st, 2011, 6:57 pm

She peered at the wall at first listening to Addy demanding answers. She sighed, then fixated her gaze to hers. "I'm feeling a bit better... But my head hurts like... like.. Well you know."

She gave a small raspy laugh, then coughed slightly. Why did she bother talking when she hurt so much. 'He' is a man who I saw shooting an eagle. To save the eagle I tried to attack him, creating a diversion. He held me up in the air choking me, then ended up sparing my life. Running off. Every since then, he has haunted me by somehow estimating my every move. He must have flashbacks to know these tings though."

Meria sighed, trying to raise up again, thinking she had enough energy. Although, all her energy just seemed to slip away. With all her might, it just slipped away like waves in the ocean. "I used to have flashbacks when I was younger, but it was of the future. So I can notify myself on things, you know? They always brought me pain, but not this much. As I progress over the years.. The pain increases."

Her gaze turned to the wall again. Opening her mouth to say something she found herself drifting on a cloud. There was the man again, she was in another flashback. What had she possibly touched. By then in reality her pupils weren't visible and she was a straight as a stick. There she saw the man calling her name, trying to bring her towards him.

She screamed and yelled trying to push him away. She reminded him of the day, then he ran away immediatley. Back in reality she had awoken, and her pain was back. There was Aidara staring at her, in complete shock. She was in worse shape than she thought. "I should have never come here, it was a huge mistake." She said in a low tone, taking another sip from the clay mug.

She allowed her paranoia to get the best of her, again. It was like something controlled her and there was no will power to strive her towards her goal. To overcome these stupid, painful flashbacks. They haunted her in her dreams even, but she couldn't possibly tell hr the whole story. It would have been too much for her.. Too much.

The Avora couldn't possibly go home either because she was too afraid that she'd come across him along the way. What could she possibly do, she was too nervous to do anything anyways. Too scared... To annoyed.. To aggravated. Words couldn't describe how she felt, none of them did. She just wished time could stop.

And for that moment she could just stand there in awe, smiling at the one she loved. Meria stared at her locket again, and opened it to see Luke and his mother. A smile came across her face, the only thing she had left. That kept her sane. She wished he could come back. But he had his work to come before her... Strange was it.
