On the Town (Open)

Khasr tilted his head, not sure if the girl was joking or not. He couldn’t sew, didn’t know very much about knots, had no idea how a halter was made, and things he preserved didn’t last very long. “Glassbeak eggs would fix my tent? How?” It obviously made sense in her mind, but he was utterly lost, didn’t know what she meant, and still didn’t know where anything was.

Scarlett shook her head "Glassbeak eggs for food." She sighed "If you head west of this meat market look to your right and you'll see a stand that'll help you with your javelin problem. As for the horse things, well.... Just follow me. It'll be a lot easier." She spoke to Rocky "Walk." The Strider began walking at a slow pace, following every command made by Scarlett. "Sometimes, things are better shown than said." She looked forward remembering her way to each of the stalls for his problems.

Khasr looked to where she had indicated, and after a few moments of searching he picked out the stand she had pointed out. She mounted a buckskin strider, and the man felt jealousy blossom in his chest alongside a thrill rippling up his spine. An image sprung into his mind of a massive black bay thundering towards him. He shivered involuntarily in excitement as he recalled the creature. He would settle for no other horse as his strider. And on that note... was that woman using reins? Indeed she was. Who was this woman? He suppressed the urge to groan as she began leading him to gods knew where. He didn’t like human contact. Not at all. Sighing, he followed her, wondering how long this would take.

Scarlett looked ahead as the Kiger colored horse walked forward. She approached the stand for his javelins "This stand for your javelins..."she pointed north of the stand to another stand "That place could probably help you with your tent..." then she pointed westward of that stand "and that place could probably help you with your other problems. if you need anything else, I'll be over there grabbing something quick to eat." she pointed towards a food stand. She nudged Rocky in the ribs then rode towards the food stand. She was in the mood for some fruit. She clicked her tongue to get there a bit faster then slowed Rocky once more and dismounted. She held his reins and apporached a young man, no older than herself "Hi. I was wondering if you'd like to make a trade? One of these for one grapefruit and two oranges." She brought out one of the glassbeak eggs and sat it on the counter letting the young male examin it "Hmmm." he said "I think we could make it work." He carefully took it and gave it to an elderly woman in the back. he came back with the requested grapefruit and the two oranges giving them to Scarlett with a smile then he said "Have a nice day." She led Rocky away from the stand then sat under a tree with a shiver since the ground was cold and somewhat still had snow from Morwen. She peeled the orange then began to eat the contents inside. She put the peelings in her bag. They could be used for tea or stew. Rocky kneeled down beside her, then the rest of his body came down and he layed beside her, putting his head in her lap. She smiled at im "Your crazy, Rocky." She pet his head and braided his banes.

Khasr nodded to himself as she identified the tents he was looking for. He allowed himself to relax for a few seconds when she left, leaving him in his treasured solitude, before taking a deep breath and heading to the weapon vendor. A middle-aged man with arms like tree trunks looked up at his approach. “Two javelins,” Khasr said curtly, earning a nod. The man disappeared and returned quickly, holding the weapons out with one hands and gesturing suggestively with the other. Khasr obliged and paid the two gold, then put the new weapons in the quiver with his old ones. At the tailor’s tent he traded his old tent for a new one and one miza, then played around with it for a minute or two figuring out how it worked and felt. He approved and moved on to a general vendor and purchased another small snare for 7 silver mizas, and then it was time to buy horse equipment. “How may I help you?” the woman asked. “I need to buy some horse stuff.” She raised an eyebrow, and Khasr felt a flare of anger. “Uh, a halter…” Was there anything else? He looked at the woman as if she had the answer, and the corner of her mouth twitched upwards. “Would two silver for a halter and brush be agreeable?” He nodded, and she retrieved said articles. He paid for them, put them in his pack, then, after some considering, headed over to the food vendor where the strange woman had gone. The seller looked up. “Er… how much for a pound of dried apples?” “A pound? One of the gold.” “I’ll have one.” He purchased it, then looked around for the woman. He spotted her under a nearby tree with her strider and approached cautiously. “Um… thanks for the help,” he said. He’d never been good at thanking people.

Scarlett looked up with a smile "No problem. If you need anymore help, me and Rocky will be in the Sea of Grass riding around getting excersize. Be free to join us with your horse." She smiled at him once again, then stood up. Rocky snorted then stood up and nudged Scarlett in the leg playfully. She laughed at him then pet his mane. He kneeled on his front two legs and let Scarlett climb up on his bare back. She greatfully accepted, then held on ans he stood back up. "Come on, boy." She directed Rocky in the opposite direction she came towards the grassy fields.

Overall the thread was good, but one thing to remember Scarlett is to not use an item that you haven't been awarded via thread, or bought as seen when you bartered with the glass beak egg. Other than that it was a good thread guys and look forward to seeing how you progress through the moving tent city. If you have any questions just send me a pm.
