The Kelp Forest
DESCRIPTION
Just like it sounds this is a forest in the ocean. Many interesting forms of sea life live here including rays, skates and an arrangement of fish that can't be found anywhere else. This is another key source of food for the Konti and they tend to it rather delicately. They let the local wildlife eat off of it but they do make sure that the forest stays strong and thriving. These tall spires of kelp have adapted to grow perfectly within Laviku's Grace on the inside of the protective reef. These tall spires don't only grow inside the forest itself; they grow everywhere within the reef. This kelp dots the inside of the area like the Vian Tree does on land.
The thicket of Kelp is a favorite play-spot for Konti children who want an underwater adventure, or for Konti who want to go somewhere and be left alone for awhile. Not many foreigners or visitors can reach this area so it makes it the perfect spot for a little seclusion. Many paintings have been made of this area and the view from the bottom of the forest is said to be astonishing and uplifting. Watching the tall plants move gracefully every now and then as a skate or ray hovers by peacefully. It is said one can seek employment here, although this employment would be restricted exclusively to those that can breathe underwater. Since most of the work would be done in the Kelp Forest itself.
