Izurdin's Forge

Perched above the cavern floor in the upper levels of the city, Izurdin's Forge shines like a beacon of light in the dim surroundings.

From the outside, Izurdin's Forge is a sight worthy of its status as being the greatest temple of worship dedicated to Izurdin. Huge marble pillars and arches work together to support the marble walls, facades and the grand dome that looms above. Fine crystal windows reflect and amplify the fires from within causing the temple to always look like bright, divine light is shining outward. Four grand sets of marble stairs lead up to entryways flanked by massive pillars. Each entryway holds a intricately detailed silver door. Izentor symbols can be seen covering the surface of the outer pillars, walls and windows and every isur who comes to the temple can feel the divinity of its patron.

Once inside, appearances change drastically. Inside the temple looks much like any other forge, just much larger. It is dirty, smoke-filled and loud. The sounds of hammers striking anvils echoes off the walls and the heat of the forge fires burns hotter than anywhere else. The entire structure represents the duality of the isur; beautiful and striving for perfection while not being afraid of getting dirty and working hard.

The main hall of the temple is topped by a massive dome and dozens of small yet complete forges form a circle around a single raised dais in the center. Smoke is from the fires is directed through a series of chimneys and pipes that run out of the temple and into the cavern walls where it is then vented above ground. On the central dais stands Izurdin's Altar; a massive anvil made of isurian steel, silver and gold. Upon the surface of the anvil is the symbol of a hammer, placed their personally by Izurdin.

Unlike many churches, temples and various other centers of worship, priests and priestesses do not give sermons or preach about the tenets of faith. For the isur, there is no need for such a thing as they all fully realize their place in life as being the children of Izurdin. Instead, isur, when they feel they possess the level of skill they feel is best for them and suitable for their role in the grand scheme of life, come to the temple to construct their life's greatest achievement. Or at least the greatest achievement at that point in their lives as some come to the temple more than once in a lifetime. Although not all isur are smiths, all isur tend to excel at some form of creation and the temple caters to any of it.

Surrounding the main hall are numerous rooms, separated from the heat and fires of the forges. It is in these many rooms that one may find resources suited for their particular form of creation be it painting, sculpting, woodworking, sewing or otherwise. There are priests and priestesses throughout that are willing to aid worshipers in their quest to make perfection.

Priesthood

Izurdin's priesthood serving at the temple, as a whole, possess a vast wealth of knowledge regarding any and all forms of creation and construction. Becoming a member of the priesthood requires one to gain enough attention from Izurdin to be marked by him with at least two marks. They must possess some form of crafting/creating skill at a competent level (L2) and have successfully constructed at least one item at the temple.

In addition to aiding those who come to the temple, priests of Izurdin serve as advisers to differing levels of clan leadership as well as taking on roles as teachers in general. They often attend new building constructions; something that occurs rather often in the Kingdom) and add their own advice and assistance to the building process.

Priests of Izurdin are identified by red and blue sashes that bare a golden symbol of an anvil upon them.
